  1. To the CZ TS experts out there... I just put on the CZC magwell (the smaller one that is offered) and my factory mags and my mags with the CZC extensions will not fit in the gun. I assume there is some fitting that needs to be done. I want to use the factory mags and the mags with the extensions. What needs to be done to make these fit and function properly? Do you remove material from the magwell or from the mag bases, or both? If you have some pics, please post them. Thanks.
  2. Columbia will be the nearest big town, I believe. I will be staying in Marshall, if your familiar with the area...
  3. IDPA is designed to simulate concealed carry scenarios and requires concealed carry type equipment. It is more structured in that there typically is a specific way that you have to shoot the courses of fire, what order the targets must be shot in, and requirements on shooting from positions of cover. USPSA typically allows shooters to complete a course however they see fit, within the rules. The courses typically have several solutions to the "problem", and allow shooters to develop their own strategy. Both are fun. I tried them both, and prefer USPSA.
  4. I just picked up a CZ TS, awesome gun for the money with a great trigger out of the box. Little more than your top end but definitely way more affordable than a 2011.
  5. I will be visiting family in Central Mo in June (week starting the 22nd) and would like to take in a match or two while I am there. Any suggestions from local shooters?
  6. I didn't compare them side by side so I am not sure.
  7. Just picked up my new TS in .40 cal last night, and I am going to try to get it up and running for limited this season. I see that Taylor Freelance makes extended bases, as does CZ Custom. I have the Taylor's for my M&P and like them. I have no experience with the CZC bases. For you guys that have used them, what are your thoughts? Also looking at some other mods, such as magwell, fiber front sight, and stainless guiderod. Coming from the M&P, the TS trigger is better, so any changes to the trigger are not a priority right now as the TS trigger is much better than what I am used to shooting. I have big hands, and the TS feels just about perfect the way it is, so I don't need any grip reduction or thinner grips at this point. Any other recommendations? I am new to CZ so I am starting over with a new platform.
  8. If these are our choices, I don't think too many people are going to elect to stop shooting production, so I don't think this proves the viability of another division. I would be curious to see how many people would abandon production as it is now to shoot in this new division. I personally don't get it, especially with the capacity increase which makes it even closer to open.
  9. Put some optics on it and run it. Spend your money on ammo and get proficient with the gun. Down the road you may want some upgrades like extended free float handguard and a better trigger, better stock, compensator, etc.
  10. I am new to the CZ platform and have a TS on the way. I see pictures of the Czechmate grips and magwell, but cannot find anywhere where these parts are available for purchase. Can the same magwell and grips that are on the Czechmate be purchased and will they fit on the TS?
  11. I used to shoot production with a four inch 5906 that was out of the Performance Center. If I remember correctly, I got an opinion from Mr. Amidon that it was production legal as it is marked as a model 5906, is not considered a seperate model, and was unmodified from it's factory configuration. I still have the gun and it is what I would use if I shot production again. The 5" I am not so sure about, but I believe it was used in production in the mid 2000's by some shooters.
  12. I am looking for a new stripped upper without M4 feed ramp cuts because I have a barrel with standard feed ramps. All I have been able to find is a Fulton Armory, a High Standard from Brownells, and a Rock River from PK Arms. Seems like better prices can be found on lowers with M4 cuts. Can anyone speak to the quality of the Fulton Armory or High Standard uppers? Anyone have any other sources?
  13. Wow... $2600 puts you into the realm of other platforms that may be better choices such as high end CZ's, Sig X-5's, custom Glocks, etc. I have M&P's and like them, but I would not have a $2600 M&P with the other choices available for the same or less money.
  14. I was messing around with my caddies the other day and put two of them right next to each other on my belt. I was able to pull load twos and load fours out of my caddies remarkably easily and load them. I was using what can best be described as a "Spock" grip using two fingers to pull either one or two rounds from each side by side caddy and they came out in my hand stacked as they would from other load 2/4 systems. Granted, I have very large hands and long fingers, but I was able to do this over and over again with no problems. I think if I practice more, I will be able to do this quickly. Just a thought to the guys that aren't ready to abandon their caddies.
  15. Have it by Monday!!! My LGS ordered one for me in September and they were told that they would get it by the end of the year... still waiting.
  16. I believe Troy Industries makes one that puts a small lever on the mag release on the left side.
  17. I recently cleaned my AR rifle and noticed what could best be described as semi-circular dents in the firing pin retaining pin (the small cotter pin that holds the firing pin in the carrier). Has anyone ever seen or heard of damage to this pin and what could be causing it? Has anyone ever seen or heard of one failing? I have never seen damage to one of these on any of my rifles before. I have recently replaced this pin and I am wondering if I got a bad one.
  18. You are getting some sound advice here. Limited, even with minor scoring, will allow you to concentrate on your shooting since the stage break downs and reloads are not as involved. Production, at least for me, required more strategy and planning than limited. I would suggest not switching back and forth from match to match between divisions when first starting out. Pick one and stick with it for a season. I started in production and then shot limited, first in minor and then in major. I found limited to be more fun.
  19. I got a comp tac international from Amazon... had it in a few days.
  20. Sorry I never updated... yes, the new updated sear block solved the problem... no more dead trigger issues.
  21. Sent mine in yesterday. I assume I need to wait for an E-mail before squadding?
  22. If you can't justify spending $3K or more for your limited gun, then don't. This is a hobby for the vast majority of us, and as long as your having fun, stick with your M & P.
  23. I have one that I have used in matches and practice with no issues. I used only brass cased ammo.
  24. When I shot production, I don't recall ever needing more than five mags. Not saying it couldn't happen, but that was my experience.
  25. I am a lefty and find that the mag release is easier to operate with my trigger finger. I have owned pistols with ambi mag releases and still find it easier to operate with the trigger finger. A great place to start is with a police trade in glock 17... it can be turned into a gun for several different divisions after that as time and money allows. Police trade ins are carried alot, and shot a little, so mechanically they are usually in good shape, even if they look a little rough.
