  1. I'm an IDPA guy. My XD-M 5.25 Competition shoots great with Berry's 115 grain copper plated and 4.5 grains of WIN-231. It makes IDPA power factor (125,000) and reliably knocks down heavy poppers.
  2. I just picked up a Galco Matrix Holster for my Glock 17. It sure seems IDPA SSP legal, however there is about 10% of the trigger guard exposed. (On the back by the grip) There is no way anyone could get a finger onto the trigger. I am an S.O. (fairly new to that role) and I am curious about the legality of this holster in IDPA. Thanks for replies.
  3. Just checking on the legality of the new XDM Compact, 3.8 inch barrel, 9mm, with the sleeve that fits over the 19 round magazine to give it the grip of the full size XDM, 9mm, 3.8 barrel. I am an IDPA S.O. and cannot find anything in the rule book that would make this gun illegal for ESP in IDPA. But it is fairly new on the market and I am not 100% sure about this. Anybody know for sure? Thanks for replies.
  4. I am thinking that a Berry's 158gr bullet on top of 3.7 grains of Win. 231, shot out of a Smith 686 4" barrel should make the 105,000 power factor (SSR IDPA) with room to spare. I don't have a chrony so came up with this recipe after looking at several different loading manuals. Any comments on this load and the new IDPA SSR power factor? Thanks for replies.
  5. My Glock 17 9mm load to make IDPA power factor (125,000) and very good accuracy is 4.7 Grains Win. 231, Berry's Double Struck 115 grain round nose.
  6. Is the Black Hawk Serpa holster for the Glock 17 IDPA legal? Thanks for replies.
  7. Consensus is dry over wet. That is what I figured it would be and that is what I do. Thanks for the replies. Good stuff.
  8. I am curious what people think about starting an IDPA match (Stock Service Revolver) with cylinders dry or with a light coating of CLP or Rem-oil or other light lubricant. Will residue build up be less with one over the other? I am using spring loaded speed loaders. Maybe it makes little or no difference for the amount of rounds fired in a typical IDPA match? Thanks for replies.
  9. Thanks, Brian. Very helpful. Jeepster1
  10. I have one of those Safariland speed loader holders that holds three speed loaders. Works great with the Safariland 2 and 3 loaders. The Rule Book says the entire body of the speed loader must be enclosed by the holder. Is this holder IDPA legal, as it does not cover the entire loader body? Thanks for replies.
  11. I got referred here from the Smith and Wesson Forum. I shoot IDPA, SSR, and use Safariland 3 Speedloaders. I have an older loader that will no longer lock the rounds into place in the loader. I took it apart last night and cannot figure where the point of wear would be to make it no longer operable. This raises the broader question of the longevity of the Safariland 3 loaders and if anything can be done to extended their useful lives. They are expensive. Thanks for replies.
