Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Thanks for the responses. Looks like the Montana Gold as far as I can tell. The guy we got the press from threw in some loaded 38 special that had an unknown bullet in it. It did not make power so I shot it in some local fun matches. Turns out, that bullet was on Montana Gold's site as well. Mystery solved.
  2. Hey all- Got these bullets with a used Dillon. Turns out they are pretty accurate, but I have no idea what they are. Do you happen to know? They are brass jacketed .357 dia. 158 gr. hollow points. Thanks
  3. 175 yards, 12 inch plate, S&W PC4006 5" barrel, first shot. Have not been able to duplicate that on the first try with any other of my pistols, although my long slide M&P 40 is pretty good at 100 yards.
  4. Funny, I was just telling someone today that our range is not really good for 3 gun due to the limited area and distance for the rifles and our range rules. I think I will try running a 2 gun match sometime this summer for shotgun/pistol. Maybe a division for pump/revolver shooters.
  5. After doing loads of on-line research, I have come to the conclusion that I want to install a Wilson Combat Trac-Lock II front sight on my vent-rib shotgun. Does anyone have one that has not been installed so that I may get a few measurements? My plan is to mill out a chanel the width of the vent rib, then run a screw into the stock hole where the fiber optic front sight used to be. This barrel is off another one of my shotguns, so I do not want to do a permanent mod to the barrel making it unuseable on the donor gun. I contacted Wilson Combat, but was told that they did not have specs or dimensions for the sights. Thanks
  6. Steve- What you say makes sense, but I could not find it in the rule book. A follow up if you dont mind...In a run of the mill match, if a revolver shooter wants to reload after 4 shots, he has to keep the ammo, correct?
  7. I am new to the revolver game (Had revolver under a week) and am going to shoot a Classifier tomorrow. My question is when the stage call for a tac reload after 6 shots, do the revo guys have to stow the empties & moonclip in a pocket??? I tried the search and came up empty. Thanks dave
  8. That certainly is what I consider the lock to be, but wanted to know if someone has actually gotten an answer. Thanks
  9. I dont have religious, moral, or asethetic reasons for wanting to disable it, or I would have looked for a pre-lock gun. I want to get a trigger job, and I can get a better one (lighter DA pull) if the lock is gone. While I will have this gun loaded for home defense, I have a back-up 40 auto or 45 auto if need be. thanks for the great replys. I guess I could just have it done, as I will probably not shoot a regional match, and if I do it would probably be CDP or ESP anyway...
  10. I am going to start shooting a revolver in IDPA and I want to know if the Internal Lock on the S&W revolvers can be disabled. I know the rule book says safety devices may not be disabled, but my gun will never have the lock activated, and it is not a gun safety device, rather a child safety device. Has anyone ever asked headquarters about this issue. thanks Dave
