  1. Is there some advantage time/money/performance to using cut down brass vs short colt/long colt? When I first got my 627 I cut down some 38 special cases because 38 Short Colt was on Backorder from Starline. I had quite a few 38 Special cases with split necks (I have a hard time throwing stuff away) so I thought I could get a little more life out of them. I made a jig that made cutting them down pretty fast and easy. They worked OK, but there was some issue with bulging like others have said and once I got my Starline brass I stopped messing with the cut down cases. Definitely not worth the trouble if you can find Starline 38 Short Colt.
  2. I guess I was wondering if USPSA revolver nationals had the same kind of participation as the IRC would there be less people wanting to kill the division? Or has the “kill revolver” theme been a thing for a while? Seems like I hear that on a lot of podcasts and such.
  3. I haven’t been doing this very long (a little over a year). I went to the IRC this year and there were 120 competitors. It seems odd to me that the USPSA nationals could only attract 39 revolver shooters this year.
  4. Do you keep any spare parts in your range bag? I’m shooting a 627 and wondering if I should keep any extra parts in my range bag for competition. I currently keep an extra firing pin and some spare fibers. I would consider a backup gun but I haven’t been finding anything for what I would consider a reasonable price.
  5. I haven’t been doing this long and the FreeState match was the biggest match I’ve ever been to. Squad 9 was awesome since it was all revolvers. Everybody was fun to be around. Thanks Dave for all the help and the tips you gave me throughout the day.
  6. I agree. Thanks for Don and Joe for putting this together.
