  1. Very well said! RIP Seve
  2. Definitely another great match, which is why we always make the trip down from Akron and surrounding areas. Great weather today as well.
  3. Have you called each builder? I talked to Matt on the phone and he answered all my questions and explained why he builds them the way he does. I'm sure Dan woe as well. Not sure who has the shortest wait time at this point but they are probably close to the same.
  4. Another great match guys! Chris - looking forward to your videos, always enjoy seeing how you shot the stages versus myself.
  5. You'll probably get a different builder for every reply that you get. At the end of the day as long as it runs and you get a load tuned for it, you'll be happy. To answer your question .... I have your #1 choice in 9mm (purchased used from USPSA classifieds) and I'm having your #2 choice built (again in 9mm) which I should have in about 4 weeks if STI finished the cutom serial number frame. Matt will build the gun anyway you want ... you can use the hybricomp barrel with no holes, or start with just one. He can always add another hole or two if you decide to later down the road. Enjoy the trip, shooting Open is a lot of fun.
  6. Looks like fun .... lots of steel ... swingers .... drop turners .... perfect practice for OH
  7. Try here.... http://www.k8nd.com/documents/hl40sw.pdf
  8. Alfie, I was finally able to run 10 loads of 4.0g N320 at 1.130" over the chrono tonight. I aveaged 135.6 PF. This was out of a M&P40 PRO. Hope this helps. Aaron
  9. Will be attending to see Micah lose it when it starts to rain of course there is a 40% chance Micah won't lose it I'd be more willing to bet there's a 60% chance Micah forgets his cleats again, and has to shoot in sandals. Those skinny mags aren't heavy enough to hurt his toes, he'll be fine
  10. Might find something here that you can use: http://www.k8nd.com/documents/hl40sw.pdf

    9mm

This will keep you reading for a couple of days haha http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12740&st=0
  12. oops, double tap. LOL
  13. Matt McLearn builds most of his open guns with the 3 port hybricomp barrels and his comp, which is a 4 vertical chamber comp and one side cut on each side of the comp.
  14. I was using 5.2g VV N320 with 180g Montana Gold at 1.185". 170pf
  15. From my testing of VV 3N38, 8.3g was 161 PF. This is out of a 5" barrel, no holes. OAL was 1.170
  16. How much powder are you using? I just started using the same bullets and powder and I'm curious what you ended up with? 4.0g of N320 at 1.130" I will probably run 10 over the chrono this weekend.
  17. How much powder are you using? I just started using the same bullets and powder and I'm curious what you ended up with? I'll get back to you tonight, I don't remember off the top of my head.
  18. Good little article on softer 40 loads .... http://www.handgunsmag.com/ammunition/40lite_091806/index1.html?bcsi-ac-33F88203AE5731F3=1B69BB9A00000004xcym8Dp9kHgvjNVlE3yNMRy73ta3BAAABAAAAGQBIAFAOAAAAAAAAK6BDAA= I like the way my 180g MG w/ N320 loads felt in my M&P 40 Pro. Very nice production load
  19. The CMJ and JHP both have the jacket covering the base so no lead is exposed. This can help eliminate some smoke depending on the powder that is used. I used both FMJ and JHP with N320 in my limited gun and didn't notice a difference. Use N320 if you can, it is so much cleaner than TG.
  20. Give Mark Gordon a call at Short Action Customs .... http://shortactioncustoms.com/ He is in Wellington, OH.
  21. Same here, I need to be at 8.3g - 8.4g ..... still have one more chrono session to verify.
  22. Great set up! I have the same rifle in the same stock. Mine shoots 175smk over Varget really good. I also put a muzzle brake on mine which helps spot your own shots at longer distances.
  23. Great points! I also made the switch to Open this year and agree it's so much fun, but not as easy as it looks.

    HS-6

Thanks Eric. I will definitely chrono when I open a new jug, I was just hoping I wouldn't get wild swings from lot to lot. I have been using HS-6 in 9 major for several years, I no longer check for variation. In my guns it likes to run about 175 PF...burns cleaner there and lowest extreme spread. Chrono at Area 6 had 3 rounds within 2 FPS. Sherwyn That is awesome to hear! Thanks Sherwyn!

    HS-6

I've only shot about 200 rounds of HS-6 at local matches, so I probably need more time with it but my initial thoughts are that is has a little less dot movement than the 3N38 in my gun. I can't comment on the clean/dirty part ... I hadn't cleaned the gun in about 800 rounds (both 3N38 and HS-6) but I wouldn't say it was any dirtier than normal. As others have mentioned, it burns cleaner at higher PF. I wanted to make sure the gun would run after that many rounds. I didn't notice any smoke issues. I have 8lbs of HS-6 on the way and will use it this year.
