  1. Placed order 7/7/20 Got shipping notice today, hang in there. Blue bullets are filling their orders.
  2. At a local match , enforcing the safety rules is the first priority. I know of only 1 person at local matches that even cares if the equipment rules are followed to the letter. read , Range na***. If a shooter shows up with a black , square looking gun and says i'm shooting production , I believe him . Don't know one glock from another and don't care to learn. this discussion is getting real old after hearing it in one form or another for 25 years. Offer advice if you think a set up is wrong , make sure your crap is correct. and shoot the match. I'm not taking the RO test this year, and not renewing my membership as uspsa has become a organization that is US ( management ) vs them (shooters). and really does not care what the members want .
  3. I completely agree and IF the RO wanted to give me a penalty , I'd take without argument , this is one of many rules that needs to be applied with a little common sense.
  4. I had a similar question today . Stage had multiple hidden targets, while scoring 1 had 4 hits and 1 had none, shooter gets 2 mikes. Does he also get 1 ftsa. There were enough shots, hits in the wrong place, Simple mikes, or added penalty .
  5. My first Open Gun was built in 95, I still use it. The only things that are from the original gun however are the STI frame, beaver tail and Magwell . Every thing else has replaced , most parts more than once. Slides go 50K to 90K ,
  6. Found out thru the holidays that one of our problem shooters, that was difficult for the timer to pick up the shots , may have had only a 115 PF, maybe less, seems the problem has now been self corrected.
  7. Guys, Thanks for the input. I will try a number of the suggestions . Shot a match Sun and had 3 PCC shooters in the squad, and no problems at all . The timer was worked in the normal manner, near the right shoulder of the shooter. The really quiet guns were not there and next time they are, we get as close as we can, with the understanding that without getting the last shot it will be a reshoot I still don't want to get close enough to be in the peripheral vison, and get hit with the brass. Getting hit with the brass is not fun, but getting hot brass in your shirt hurts. Maybe part of the problem is that I still want to treat the PCC shooters the same as everyone else, and that might not work for them all.
  8. At some recent matches we had to give some pcc shooters reshoots because the timer did not pick up a single shot, 000 on the timer. Linear comps and mouse fart loads are part of the problem , but new battery's, reset the timer to highest sensitivity and still if you hold the timer at the shooters shoulder it does not register. To get the timer to pick up shots you had to hold it almost out to the ejection port. My solution at the match was to let pcc shooters RO each other , because I got tired of ducking brass. What are other people doing? and are you having the same problems.
  9. Nothing in the rules about DQ for that at most . 4.1 All firearms used by participants must be serviceable and safe. Event Officials may inspect a participant’s firearms at any time to check they are functioning safely. If a firearm is declared unserviceable or unsafe by an Event Official, it must be withdrawn from the event until it is repaired to the satisfaction of the Range Master. RM had the ability to make up rules as necessary , maybe this was one.
  10. Every 250,000 or so a link arm has cracked like that. I've had it happen twice . Dillon replaced them with no problems. I'd have gladly paid for them , but no charge . Best piece of equipment I ever bought.
  11. Extractor spring was from my collection of extra power ar 15 extractor springs, Firing pin spring was from Ace Hardware, Handyman spring, SP-9722, 7/32 x1 3/8 x .028, trimmed to 0.570 .
  12. Never broke a firing pin but I think its because I replaced both springs in my NF bolt, because the firing pin spring kept breaking off pieces to weak and the extractor spring would not hold anything, Gun started to run. Turned down the shoulder on the firing pin to fit the new spring and now have 2000 rounds thru it .
  13. Having done this for 20 + years , there are assholes as RO's and shooters. I've been both, . In a world of A type personalities this happens. All I ask is that as an RO they are consistent and fair and as a shooter they follow the rules, As an RO if I think they will be influenced by my presence , I will stand down, as a shooter if I think the RO cannot be consistent and fair, no problem to ask for someone else,. Most of the time at a higher level match, its not a problem, the shooter is focused on the stage and RO is running everyone the same . No time or energy for Bullshit.

  18. I've found some brass with the step inside, head stamp MAXXTech that won't size , and they are 30% heavier. Sorting 9 mm brass is a pain, but necessary.
  19. So after 600+ views, a few comments , no rules that support the use of boxes to shoot over high walls and /'or big leans that prevent shooters from seeing the targets have been presented, so the only way I'll get an answer, it seems is to protest at a level 2 or higher match. If I shoot long enough I guess I'll get an answer .
  20. All I.m trying to get to is a fair and equal opportunity for every shooter to shoot the targets, within the rules . If using a box is acceptable tell me what rule to use, because it seems then you are changing the course of fire, I agree it makes sense to add the box, but it is not covered in the rules. As far as the lean to shoot targets, I've been told tough , its a shooting problem. Again staying within the rules, since some shooters never get the opportunity to shoot it 4.6.1 Range equipment must present the challenge fairly and equitably to all competitors . if it does not is you only option to protest??
  21. At some matches we have had targets placed (1), directly behind a wall, within 3 feet, you have to shoot over the wall, shorter shooters can stand at the wall and not see the targets, I have seen boxes placed in front of the wall to elevate the shooter but cannot find anywhere in the rule book where this is allowed and (2), targets placed behind walls where you have to lean way out to see and shoot them. We had a smaller shooter who simply could not lean far enough to see the target. Looking at the rule book 1.1.6 would apply but I see no solution offered if it happens, 4.6.1 seems to apply , but solutions only deal with equipment failures,8.6.3 may have been used to give special dispensation , but it really does not cover the issue. and 10.2.10 can be used only for incapacity or injury. So some shooters can see and shoot them and some cannot , Bad design for sure but , Illegal Stage ?? Dave Campbell I tried to post this at USPSA , it would not let me
  22. bill,   go to Thunder gun range website , 1st sat match, OK match , tired of listening to Tom whine about the match we think he gets paid to run. Same stages every month , .  Conroe shooting academy , has changed names but used to run a 3 gun , 3 stages 2nd sunday.  3rd sat 3 gun match at area 59 run by rdpc and 4th sat 3 gun at ccc gun club in college station .  only long range shooting in a match 300 yds +  and a lot of running more 3 gun nation type of match

I've been to all except Area 59,because its the same day as bay area which I really like. I'm more an irregular because there are so many matches in the area and often don't decide until the night before.   There are usually 4 or 5 open shooters .  There is also Van road gun range the 4th sat , van road is short range and they often run just a pistol match.    by the way CCC 3 gun match is the 4th SUNDAY , sorry.  I've just heard that there may be a new range in Cleveland that will run 3 gun out to 300 yds, but I have not been able to get specific info.  Also at Impact Zone on the 2nd sat whidpa run a3 gun match .  again 4 to5 open shooters.  I always shoot open ,requires that I know the rules because often the locals don't know their own rules .
