So I'm looking at the USPSA rulebook, appendix D6 ...
We're talking about the edge of the ejection port closest to the muzzle, right? So it's ok to see the entire ejection port, while holstered? ... plus another 1/2in?
Ok ... so I've got a Safariland over/under ... is the "inner side of belt" the over, or under belt? I can see, where if the velcro gives a bit, that distance can change quite a bit, if it's the under belt. I'd guess it's the over belt ... but I can also see someone trying to argue it's the under belt ... and the way it's written, without a cite, who's to say?
Also, when measuring distance to the gun ... is that to the outside of the grip-panel closest to the body? ... to the side of the frame closest to the body? ... to the side of the slide closest to the body? ... to the center of the gun?
And when checking that the front-strap is above the belt, as the gun may be 2in away, what's done to ensure that the person checking is looking at the correct angle? I mean, someone could squat a little more, and it's legal ... squat a little less, and it's illegal ... right? Again, if the velcro gives a bit, that could also skew it. Anyone actually ever see someone check this?
Obviously, this is for a custom holster ... I'm not looking for a link to Safariland's website.
And one more ... anyone got a cite that specifies that "wide", "extended" thumb-safeties are ok?
Thanks!
