Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I was just reading about his trigger, sound interesting and not expensive: Ruger® PC Carbine™ Trigger | TANDEMKROSS Anyone with experience with it ?
  2. I added some upgrade parts to my XDM 5.25 9mm, I'm not a gunsmith but I can follow instructions. Went to the range to make sure it ran - and it has been 100% for 10k rounds so far. He was foolish not to test the gun to make sure it ran.
  3. I like a 120-125 gr TC bullet with 4.0 231 or HP38 for easy practice.
  4. Good notes above - I shot .357 and .358 sized cast bullets in my Python and "Model 357" with great results. They had the tight barrel but I do not recall the throat measurements. .358 should work with softer bullets, not the "hard cast" that most people sell, for your application.
  5. If you are going to run jacketed bullets, .356 bullets might work but if cast bullets, too small for a mornal 357 Mag barrel.
  6. I have been using 4.0 gr 231 with 230 Cast TC for easy shooting load.
  7. I use Hornady One Shot all the time for 223 and 308 Military cases. Never had a problem. I tried Dillon's case lube and it worked fine, just harder to clean off the case after it served its purpose.
  8. 4.1 of 231 with 237 gr TC cast bullet. 1.185 OAL. Fun & easy shooting load, and accurate enough in all my 1911's.
  9. 231 works fine for me with several different 9mm bullets. Don't use 115 RN so can't help you specifically.
  10. I use Winchester 231 with 124 JHP. Power Pistol is a highly recommended powder but I've never used it. AA5 and AA7 also work fine for me. Others in the game will chime in with more data. Powder availablilty in your area will influnce what you use.
  11. Majority of my general use shooting is with 230 gr TC cast bullet and 231 powder. I do also shoot 200 gr SWC some time. I tried some 185's years ago but liked 200 SWC better. Even tried the 152 gr SWC from Penn but they did not feed well in my 1911's.

    Crimp

No crimp, just taper enough to remove the bell put on the case mouth to facilitate seating the bullet.
  13. I will confirm the 4.0 to 4.1 gr load of 231 works fine based on my personal experience.
  14. 231 is the best all around powder I have found for 25 ACP thru 44 MAg. You can get good loads in any of these, but it might not be the best. 231 (same as HP38)has been my 45 ACP powder for many years and also works fine in 9mm, 38 Super and 10MM (not S&W).
