Sure, sure... Let me assure you, most big apps you have installed are doing that. But this is how we get early reports on app failures and crashes, all anonymous. In the past, some of the crashes were fixed even before users emailed to us. We switched to automated reporting after number of devices didn't have email or any other apps configured or even installed. Aggregation by device type is just a free metric.

Umm...., most app installs specifically ASK the user if they want the program to automatically send vendor information like that to the vendor.

We have a plenty of other tablets at a comparable price or cheaper. But this one is a waterproof eink tablet. If that makes no difference to you, by all means, get the other one.

The battery life and visibility in bright sun supposedly non comparable. And it is still half the price of ipad mini.

Just tossing out an additional possibility that caught my eye as it was from B&N and made me wonder about the future of their e-ink devices. Nothing else implied or inferred, and you don't have to mess with the android developer stuff to get the app onto it. Happy Thanksgiving! :)

  3. If you're running Wiin7, you're now 3 full versions behind, 4 after Win10 Anniversary comes out. Microsoft will begin to lose interest in you, as they did with XP. In that sense, if it ain't broke don't fix it doesn't fly anymore. (Nothing personal there, by the way!)

I just did the upgrade from Win7 Pro to Win10 Pro. Went VERY smoothly, no issues at all. And just like Win7 is what Vista SHOULD have been, Win10 is what Wiin8 & 8.1 should have been. And it runs ezwinscore.

Plus, since this was up under VMWare Fusion, I made a backup of my Win7 guest machine ahead of time. Now I have both 7 and 10 running. Not that either one will see that much action from me. I just needed to do the 10 upgrade as I need to be able to answer Win10 questions from other folks in the office as they start to get new machines.

  4. I've gone sort of a different route.. it was easier and faster to simple create a drop box acct and drop the practiscore file there.. then download the drop box app to the nook, and then log into drop box and download direct from there. It works pretty well for me..

    ...

That's exactly what I used to do; worked VERY well and very easy to update a whole fleet of devices in fairly short order.

  5. Well, it is approaching the start of the outdoor season here in New Hampshire and we are gearing up for the season.. Looking to make sure our Nooks are up to date..

I go here http://rootnscoreit.com/and it tells me "if you already have a rooted nook, click on the Tourist Class".. but this page is all in Latin or something... can you not just re-do the original express installation with the new version of Practiscore? Did I just get trolled?

No, Chris Wren just never did that particular page. What you're seeing is dummy "lorem ipsum" text to give the developer an idea of what the page will look like when completely filled out. It's a common technique; Chris just hasn't gotten back to that page.

    * Large matches such as Area II and WSSSC are not a problem since everyone is pre-registered.

You sure about that? I had the MD come up to me on sunday morning before at a state championship to get me to register a new shooter who was associated with a match sponsor.

  7. Okay, if you've received the .psc file as an email attachment, tap on the attachment and you'll get to an 'open with' dialog that will list a choice of apps. Hopefully one of those will be practiscore. select it and the match will be imported.

  8. Rooting is relatively simple now, thanks to Chris Wren and RootnScoreit. I tried it about a year before he put the first version together, and I've been in IT since 1977, and >>I<< found the other so-called "solutions" just completely unapproachable. I tried initially and couldn't get it to work and abandoned the whole idea for 10 months. The toughest part about RootnScoreit now is that you have to find a way to create a bootable microsd card on your windows or mac computer and yes, even if that were not an issue, it would still intimidate the average match director, no question.

  9. Well here's a bigger problem for you. I wanted to see one of these notifications, so I went into an existing match and changed a competitor's run to give him 2 procedurals and -10 of additional penalties. He took the -10 just fine, LOOKED like he took the additional procedurals, but when I went to the review screen, the procedurals weren't there. I tried it with another shooter without the additional penalties, just 2 procedurals. Not there on the review screen. And not shown in the match results. Created a new match, registered a few folks, defined a stage, and entered a score with a procedural. The procedural didn't take.

You can't enter procedurals in 1.3. I'll forward this onto support@practiscore.com.

(I do like the history trail that shows on the review screen!)

Further note: E. looked at it and says this happens in matches created on a pre-1.3 (or iOS any build) version. If you create a match IN 1.3, it does not happen.

More notes: And fixed. Go out and get 1.3.1.

  10. Oh, (had to think a minute), yeah! PS has never brought over the classifications to import into ezws. Once you finish the import, you have to run a classification update against the ezws match. Always been that way.
