  1. Interesting. What's Lesgar and Cody shooting?
  2. Silicon carbide coating would be your best option.
  3. I have seen exactly the same. .3gr difference between lots.
  4. Have you noticed any temperature sensitivity? How is ES and SD in 9 major?
  5. I would say it's effective research on the part of HALO's marketing department.
  6. I’ve shot a couple thousand using W572 now. I’ve found that it’s a little quirky as far as reloading and consistency. It’s pretty reverse sensitive and it’s sensitive to oal. Im finding that it seems to need a bit of space between the the powder and bullet or it doesn’t burn efficiently and velocity becomes erratic. I’m using it with 124’s. Have not tried with 115’s. The things i like about it so far is that it is clean. Cleaner than Autocomp even. It’s a slow burn rate powder which makes me feel better pushing to 175PF in 9 major. And it seeems to generate a good amount of gas. I bought 16 lbs to try out. Although I like it, I’ll prob switch to something else after it’s gone due to the temp sensitivity.
  7. Reports have shown cfe requiring both slightly less and more of a charge than wac to hit same velocity. I’m guessing this is simply due to lot variation. Ive used wac for about 60k rounds. Some lots require .2-.3gr more powder to hit same velocity as previous lot. Which means some lots require .2-.3gr less.
  8. 572 looks nothing and performs nothing like cfe pistol. As openb stated, cfe pistol is autocomp with copper fouling eliminator coating.
  9. It appears that way in my gun. I also noticed another thing. OAL seems to have an affect on velocity but not in the intuitive direction one would think. Max OAL with a 124 PD in my barrel is about 1.170" which is why I'm loading to 1.150". I loaded some to 1.165" also and noticed that velocity was slightly higher than ones at 1.150" and 1.135" at the same charge. 7.2gr 572 1.150" 168.7 PF 1.165" 170.5 PF 7.5gr 572 1.150" 168.5 PF 1.165" 173.4 PF My very first chrono testing was at 1.135" as that is what I run with Autocomp. Velocity seemed even more erratic at that OAL.
  10. After further testing, 572 is definitely reverse temp sensitive. Still getting very large ES and SD's at ambient temps. At colder temps, ES and SD are smaller. I put some ammo on ice on the hour drive to the range and chrono'd it against ammo at ambient temps which were around 70F today. 124gr Precision Delta @ 1.150" 7.2gr 572-10 shots Iced-avg-1416, es-54, sd-16, pf 175.5 Ambient-avg-1361, es-87, sd-30, pf 168.7 7.5gr 572-10 shots Iced-avg-1456, es-33, sd-10, pf-180.5 Ambient-avg-1359, es-77, sd-26, pf-168.5 7.7gr 572, 10 shots Iced-avg-1486, es-76, sd-21, pf-184 Ambient-avg-1392, es-97, sd-38, pf-172.6
  11. Interesting. I used a buddy’s chrono after a match yesterday and got the same results as my chrono. Side question, have you noticed any temperature sensitivity with 572?
  12. What kind of extreme spread and standard deviation are you guys seeing with this powder in 9 major? My initial testing is showing ES's around 100 and SD's around 50. I know it's not my barrel as I just had a new barrel put in and my Autocomp load runs single digit SD's in it. With 572, I'm getting power factors between 168-181 in the same chrono string. Interestingly, accuracy is still very good even with the large ES. Also interesting to note that primers are still rounded and show no pressure signs, even in the ones that are 180+PF. My Autocomp load at 173ish PF have pretty flattened primers. 124gr Precision Delta 7.7gr W572 1.150" 5.5" KKM barrel, no holes
  13. Why does it look like he's manipulating something with his right thumb between the upper and lower steel at 2:55 and 3:37? Perhaps just sympathetic movement from taking his trigger finger out of the trigger guard?
  14. There was a stage at a local match years ago when the rule was from ground to height constructed unless otherwise specified. The stage involved a bag/prop that had to be used to activate a step pad. Bag/prop was at the start of the stage and the step pad was at the end. Since it was not specified that walls went from ground to infinity, most people were throwing the bag over one of the walls near the step pad so they could shoot the first portion of the stage freestyle without carrying the bag. Had the WSB stated that walls went to infinity or had the stage been under the current rules regarding walls, I don't think throwing the bag over the wall would have been legit. So I don't agree that the rule is solely to limit people from shooting over walls.
  15. Hit factor is a quotient. Points are worth time....Time is worth points.
  16. I'm hardly an elitist and the membership definitely does not subsidize my IPSC match attendance. These changes make way too much sense to me.
  17. I find the comments on Eggleston coating being thin rather interesting. This was a smash test I did a while back comparing Eggleston to Acme. Eggleston on the left and Acme on the right. None of the Eggleston coating on the sides came off.
  18. If you already have MBX tubes, you can order the shorter MBX IPSC base pad.
  19. I have two Sig Romeo 3's. Approx 30k on one and 10k on another. No issues with either at all.
  20. IDPA isn't as big as USPSA in CO. Here's the schedule though. It has USPSA and IDPA matches on it. Are you going to be north or south of CO Springs? http://ecouspsa.com/schedule.html
  21. I shot 147's when I first got my open gun since I had a ton of them and was waiting on my 115's to come in. I used WAC for the 147's and am still using it for 115's. The 147 load felt less harsh in the hands but had more vertical dot movement than 115's.
  22. I came across that tendonitis workout video a couple of years ago. I gave it a good go for a few months. Seemed to work ok but tendonitis still lingered. I got that Sidewinder that Charlie was talking about. I've been using it for a month. It's been giving me surprisingly good relief. I'm not sure where your tendonitis is located but mine is located in the spot pictured below.
  23. I think recoil and hammer spring weights have a bigger impact on whether the gun will run light ammo than comps and popples. I have two different 9major blasters that will run 115 PF steel challenge ammo. All I have to do is put in a 7lb recoil spring and a 15lb hammer spring.
  24. I've been using Smith Optics for a few years now. I have the Pivlock V2's and various other glasses. They work well and came with extra lenses. Fit well under muffs. Pivlock V2 lenses are not as tall top to bottom as the Pivlock Echo's. The disappointing thing with the Elite Eye Pro line is that a lot are not available with the Chromapop lenses. The Chromapop polarized in a brown tint lens gives really good contrast between brown cardboard and dirt berms.
