I bought the packerized loaded for uspsa. I haven't done any mods (yet) and after 500 + rounds I couldn't be happier. I'm sure as I get deeper into the competition and my skill level improves i'll tune it some. But you really can't go wrong with a 1911. JMB was devinely inspired.
I recently decided to buy a 1911. I went with a springfield loaded. I didn't have as much to spend. In the two local matches i've used it in I only had one or two minor issues. Not bad for straight out of the box. Now I need to optimise it for dual roles of competition and carry. My point being that if your willing to do a little here and more there over time you don't have to go broke right out of the gate.
any suggetions for making a springfield a good dual role 1911 are welcome on my end.
Hi Hardway, welcome to the club. I, too, have a SA Loaded and I love. Regarding the mods, some guns seem to run better when you leave them alone...
I'll agree. sometimes you need to know when to leave well enough alone.
I am very new to the sport, but i want to thank you for posting this and helping learn the rules a bit better. I'll be looking into taking an ro course as well.
i'm new to competitve shooting, but i've got a s/a loaded that i'm running straight out of the box, at least for now. I'll wait till it's broken in and i've had more time to educate myself before I start any mods.
