  1. Never a problem with Holosun products. That currently includes: 407K 507K 507K X2 508T X2 509T X2 All on Glock and CZ pistols, and all direct mounts after machining by Jagerwerks, Primary Machine, Maple Leaf Firearms, and CZ Custom. Zero problems. None. That includes quite a bit of competitive shooting, as well as EDC, so none of them are safe queens.
  2. Not sure he will be embraced there, either.
  3. I prefer the CZ SP-01 Shadow. If you are in a hurry for one set up for Carry Optics, check with CZ Custom in Mesa, AZ. I am pretty certain they wouldn't have a wait time as you described.
  4. Not certain what you mean by "category." If you mean Division, it will only be suitable in the Carry Optic Division IF it: 1. Fits in the Carry Optics box (not certain how large your referenced "slightly bigger" base pads might be) 2. Meets the division weight requirement (and it should, based on your description).
  5. Dawson Precision makes a fiber optic front sight for your Springfield EMP4.
  6. I used to live in Las Cruces and had a second home in Ruidoso. I used the La Luz shooting range numerous times, but never participated in any matches. I really think the La Luz range is one of the nicest ones I have ever used. Not real fancy, but very well laid out and always as clean as a pin. (At least it was when I visited). Perhaps some day I can drive over that direction and drop by that range again. I miss Las Cruces, Mesilla, Deming, Alamagordo, Tularosa, Ruidoso, Capitan, and Alto. Great part of the country.
  7. Yes, I agree. I haven't looked in exhausting, complete detail, but I have both Dawson and Tripp magazines and can't tell the difference in them.
  8. Great luck withy Tripp magazines in 9mm.
  9. I've been an active member of IDPA for over 12 years and shoot IDPA matches frequently and enjoy them. But despite spending 38 1/2 years in American business and industry, I have to say I have never seen an organization do more to alienate, confuse, and annoy their customers (members) than they do. Their compulsive need to constantly fiddle with the rules while seldom improving the sport reminds me of a bunch of chimpanzees with chain saws.
  10. I would suggest that you begin shooting USPSA shooting with your G34. Familiarize yourself with the courses of fire, observe what other competitors are using, ask questions, and educate yourself so you are better positioned to make a good decision prior to the purchase of a new pistol. Such an approach will almost certainly result in something that best fits your needs. But it's a personal decision, and your money. Good luck.
  11. This mirrors my experience. I change the battery annually in all of my pistols/rifles with optics.
  12. Jim was a great shooter, and wonderful guy. Shot with him at Kinney Road Range in Tucson and Pima Pistol Club in Catalina for many years. Haven't seen him and Roberta in many years. Last I heard of him, he was participating in SASS shooting, but that was quite a while back.
  13. Rowdy: Great information and presented in a clear, concise, easily understood format. Thanks for taking the time to share!
  14. My deepest sympathy and best wishes to you and all of Logan's family, friends, and loved ones.
  15. I would suggest you focus on getting into the game as inexpensively as you can. It won'y take you too long to decide a few things after participating, including if you even enjoy shooting in competition. Observe, ask questions, conserve your money for ammo or components to reload, and/or good quality training. If you decide it is a game you want to be a part of, proceed diligently. This approach will likely save to you tons of money that you might spend on pistol platforms you don't like, optics you don't care for, holsters that end up in a cardboard box, etc. And each step of the way will add to your knowledge base and understanding of the sport so you are more adequately prepared to achieve your best bang for the buck. Or, if you are independently wealthy . . . . . . buy two of everything you see that looks cool and give it all a try. But most importantly . . . . .be safe and have fun! Welcome to the sport!
  16. Very sorry for your loss, and my deepest condolences.
  17. A 1/3 target converts yards to feet, since there are three feet in a yard. So if you want to simulate 10 yards with a 1/3 target, stand 10 feet away. 30 yards? Stand 30 feet away.
  18. Rowdy: Best wishes for a complete and rapid recovery. You will be in our prayers. Ken
  19. Do any of the rounds you have loaded fail to chamber, or just some of them? If so, are the ones that won't chamber from a specific brand of brass? More crimp might help, but without knowing what the crimp currently measures, it's hard to tell. Get some measurements of the current crimp before arbitrarily increasing it. Experiment with OAL/crimp combinations by loading a few rounds without powder and primer and "plunk" them in the FNX barrel. It should not be too difficult to identify an OAL/crimp value that works for that gun.
  20. You have to post a photo of these!
