My Glock 34.5 double feeds. What is the cause of this? I thought I had it taken care of with tweaking my ammo and for 3 matches it never had an issue. The last week it did it once and today it did it 5 times. Using Glock and Magpul mags and my 125 HAP recipe with 4.6 Titegroup. Taper crimped using a Lee die. Now I’m thinking it’s something mechanical. What should I check next?

Is it double feeding with ALL the magazines?  Just the Glock mags?  Just the Magpul mags?  Do all the mags have original internals?  How old are all the mags?

  2. I have tried to like the P365 in it's different configurations (365, 365X. 365XL, 365 Macro, etc.). There are two issues that have been deal breakers for me:

    1.  The pistol is actually too narrow for me.  I have very large (size 12 - X Large gloves) and it just seems the pistol squirms around too much

    2.  The trigger.  In my opinion, the 320 trigger is vastly superior to the 365 trigger.

I prefer a 320 X-Compact or X-Carry for EDC, and can shoot them much better than I can a 365.

But it all comes down to what works best for you, based on your hand size, experience, and personal preference.

  3. I have a P320 Spectre Comp Blackout I hav been using in IDPA CO Division.  I had the trigger done by The Sig Armorer and I mounted a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro 6 MOA optic on it. I also added an Armory Craft extended mag release.

I have shot 124 grain ammo exclusively and have had zero issues with functionality.  Accuracy is excellent.

I personally don't think the "comp" does much to reduce recoil when compared to other non-comped pistols of comparable weight.  In any event, I really like except it's a PITA to clean it with the comp on it.

  4. I shoot CZ SP01 Shadow pistols in Limited and CO in IDPA competition.  They are pretty common here in the Phoenix, AZ area and are used in USPSA as well.  What do you want to know about them?  I would recommend Stuart Wong at CZ Custom in Mesa, AZ as a terrific source of information for these pistols.

  5. Direct mount with a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro.  Attached a Leupold DP Pro iron sight to it and secured with the provided screw to the threaded hole that is uncovered when the rear sight assembly is removed from the pistol.  Very clean looking installation, and I really like the DP Pro as well.  Really like the pistol and looking forward to shooting it in Limited Optics division in USPSA.

    Cz custom HTAC rear sight.

Despite what some people say, the pcr shares the same rear dovetail as the regular 75.

    This.

  7. As a follow-up to my original inquiry, I purchased the Leupold iron sight that is made specifically to attach to the rear of the DeltaPoint Pro optic.  Installed it on the DeltaPoint and installed the assembly on the P226 X5 Classic.  It fits perfectly and covers the exposed holes and "divots" where the OEM adjustable rear sight was originally installed.  It looks really clean, almost if Sig knew what they were doing when they designed this set-up on the pistol! 😛

To answer your first questions, Sig just recently introduced a rear sight for the P226 X-FIVE that is designed to fit into the rear of the slide.

It's available as a rear sight only, or a rear sight with front sight combination. Both are suppressor height.

As far as your second question I don't know. That is something I was also considering, but since Sig has finally come out with the rear sight designed for the X-5 I will be adding a Sig red dot and buying the rear iron sight.

Thanks very much for this info.  The website shows both the rear sight and the sight set are currently out of stock, but I have signed up to be notified when they ate available.

  9. I use large plastic drawers that stack.  Different styles can be found at Bed, Bath, & Beyond, Walmart, The Container Store, and similar home goods stores.  One of the drawers will easily hold 6-8 belts neatly coiled up inside.  I use smaller versions for holsters and magazine carriers.

  10. I own a Sig P226 X5 "Classic:" (stainless) pistol and am going to mount a Leupold DeltaPoint Pro optic on it.

I have removed the rear sight/optic cover plate assembly and it appears the new DeltaPoint Pro will fit perfectly.

However, when the optic is in place, there is one screw hole and two "divots" in the top rear of the slide that remain exposed when the optic is in place.

    I have the following questions:

    1.  Does SIG sell a cover plate of any type that would cover this screw hole and the divots?

    2.  I I purchase a Leupold iron sight that is made to affix to the rear of the DeltaPoint, would it properly cover the screw hole and divots?

If the answer to both questions above are negative, I guess I could find a screw that would set flush in the exposed screw hole, or just not over-think it leave the screw hole and divots exposed.

Anyone have any feedback or similar experience, or a link to a source that might help answer my question?  I have left. message with Sig Customer Service, but haven't heard back from them.

    Thanks

  11. CZ Custom has never been anything but outstanding, helpful, and responsive to my questions in the many years I have been doing business with them.  I would never hesitate to continue to give them my business and/or recommend them as an outstanding supplier and service provider.

  12. Wilson 47D, Wilson ETM, Ed Brown, and CMC Power Mags all work well.  I have used them in Wilson Combat, Ed Brown, Springfield Armory, Dan Wesson, and Colt 1911 pistols in caliber .45 ACP with good results.

In my experience, due to manufacturing tolerances of both pistols and magazines, one should experiment to find out which brand of mags work best with each pistol.  While "one size fits all" applies to most 1911's most of the time, it does not apply to all 1911's all of the time.

  13. Yep, it's too hot.  I am an AZ native, live in Mesa and compete regularly at Rio Salado and Phoenix Rod & Gun Club pistol matches.

But the "regularly" part of my statement came to an end this year.  I made it until mid-June before it just quit being fun.  I have attended one evening match for the entire rest of the summer, and almost withdrew from that match between the second and third stages due to the heat.

I'll try again in September . . . . but it will still be HOT in September here in the Valley of the Sun!  So I might have to back off again until October.

I am a senior citizen and have lived in AZ almost my entire life.  This has been the hardest summer I can recall.  It's just silly to keep trodding out to the range when you really aren't enjoying it and it is actually posing potential risks to one's health.
