Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Agreed. After trying several, I found Dawson's ran 100% of the time. And, since you can no longer buy Dawson's Metalform's are the next best since the mag bodies are the same.
  2. C&H Precision CHPWS does great work and they have several mounting plates to fit most all footprints. They also agreed to make a custom mounting plate for my 1911 to fit the Sig Romeo Max/XL.
  3. I went through a few different brands before settling on the Otto NoizeBarrier's. The price has significantly increased since I originally purchased them. Great customer service. After wearing them pretty much every weekend for 3 years one the ear buds stopped working. Contacted customer service, showed proof of purchase and they replaced the entire set-up free of charge.
  4. Maybe try a Comp-Tac STI Edge holster. I would guess that any 1911/2011 holster with a full length dust cover would work.
  5. Bob and his crew do excellent work and they've been doing it since the 70's. Their turnaround time is pretty decent as well. Just be careful talking to Bob on the phone, make sure you have plenty of time, he sure does like to talk.
  6. From a FFL perspective it does not matter to us which carrier someone uses. And yes, must provide a copy of their DL so we can log it in our books. However many FFL's choose not to accept shipments from individuals. I will say USPS is not always consistent with their policies. I know of many individuals who regularly ship both handguns and longuns via USPS without issues.
  7. +1 For APW. I have had 3 STI's hard chromed at APW and no issues with any of them. Bob and his crew are great to deal with and their turn-around time is really acceptable. Bob can be a little tricky to talk to and a bit longwinded but with all that knowledge trapped in his head it's understandable.
  8. This is correct. As of this past summer both USP and Fedex have stopped allowing individuals gun owners to ship firearms; however, I have heard FedEX adopted the dont ask dont tell policy.... not sure, just what I'm hearing. Having an FFL allows me you to ship USPS from manufacturer to vendor or vendor to vendor however I have most FFL's do not use USPS because of lost or stolen firearms. The increase in thefts from UPS as me using solely FedEX. Best advice find a local FFL and have him do your shipping for you.
  9. I've tried several and settled on the Tevo. Haven't tried the Range Panda so cant opine on theirs.
  10. Their 22lr 1911 looks nice and would be a sweet Steel Challenge gun but the 3k price tag for the 9mm & 45 with those options seems steep. I would like to put hands on one.
  11. Thanks for all the helpful info. I recently traded into a K12 Sport and planned on doing much the same as you have. Wasn't able to find a replacement front sight so I modified the original to fit fiber optic.
