  1. Mike Carmoney is top notch. Papaw
  2. I shot my first match in Memphis Charity Challenge. Reloads were slow. I was told to have the cylinders chamfered to help in reloading. I live in North Mississippi, who do you recommend? Thanks, Papaw
  3. Nice article on the Memphis Charity Challenge. Nice work Sam. Thanks, Elizabeth.
  4. Thanks Sam for all you did for me and to make my first match unforgettable. I enjoyed being able to put faces with names to some of the wonderful people I have met through this forum. Also, thanks for all the "pointers" I received. I feel I have a better understanding of this type of shooting now. Looking forward to next year. Thanks to all. Papaw
  5. Thanks Buzzstroker, I was inquiring about the Memphis Match. Papaw
  6. Since this will be my first attempt at this type of match, I have a question? I know things will be explained in the "shooters" meeting, but I was wondering. On the stages where there are paper and steel, course descriptions say for example, 2 on the paper and then the pepper poppers, but then it has a total round count. Do you shoot the steel until it falls, no matter the round count? Then you are penalized for the extra shots? The match calls for 210 rounds, but I guess this is why you bring extra ammo. Papaw
  7. Is cleaning loaded ammunition in a tumbler or vibratory type a good idea or not?
  8. Thanks to all for offering the use of extra equipment. I will be driving in the day of the match, since I only live 80 miles south of the range. I will be wearing a shirt that has Batesville Police Dept on it. Also my waist size is 36. I don't know what size a belt would need to be, I just find one that fits. Papaw
  9. I've always heard that revolvers shooters were a nice bunch of folks, but you're responses have proven that. Like most everyone else, I have to shoot with limited funds available, so going out and buying new equipment at this time was not an option. I am a law enforcement officer in north Mississippi and look forward to making new friends at the match. Thanks again, Papaw ( this is what my grandchildren call me)
  10. I will be shooting in the Memphis Charity Challenge as my first match on Halloween Day. Shooting a S & W 625. Papaw
  11. If you have to shoot a match and you have no moonclip holders, what would you suggest? Put them in pockets? I know it won't be very competitive, but am shooting to learn. Thanks
  12. what is generally the fartherest you have to shoot targets in a match? What do you sight your 625's in at? Thanks
  13. Try searching Police Pistol Competition (PPC) Forum. I use this site and forum. www.network54.com/Hide/Forum/153070
