  1. i dont know what kind of combo of different sear and trigger springs you have tried but ive stuck in a few different ones and it can change the feel and release of the trigger quite a bit, then if you have ever tried that polished striker that will change the dynamic too.
  2. i was thinking about just getting a G17 at some point so i could shoot at those damn 'glock only' matches
  3. try tilting/rotating your head a little bit so your dominant eye is closer to the sights
  4. i dont think i ever closed either eye even when i bought my first gun and started shooting. Right handed/ left eye'd . Putting my head in a certain position i generally am seeing the exact same thing (and more) than when using only 1 eye. Kind of annoying for shooting rifles though i almost feel like putting the rifle to my non dominant shoulder and looking through the scope/sights with my dominant eye...and keeping the other eye open. whenever i look on a rifle and squint my dominant eye im always blurry eye'd when i open it again.
  5. 1. Acquired 2nd XDm9. I now have 2 XDm9 pistols. 2. Acquired 1000 MG 124g JHPs 3. Was getting load set up, a load i had used before with XDm9(1) successfully. mg jhp 124g 4.4g tg 1.135col http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/016-1.jpg 4. Noticed that with this bullet/seat depth setup the loaded cartridge does not properly fit the chamber of XDm9(2) while IT DOES fit chamber of XDm9(1) new barrel, XDm9(2) http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/015-1.jpg old barrel, XDm9(1) http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/014-2.jpg My dad suggested i take a loose necked case, seat the bullet very lightly, place cartridge in chamber of XDm9(2) and push case down until the caserim met the counterbore in the barrel. Recommended seating depth for this bullet with the new barrel is more like 1.100 or less, which happens to be very close to what the loading manual lists. ???
  6. yeah really the goal is just to become a better gun-handler/shooter in general and just be good at everything. not have any big weaknesses in any one area.
  7. You know what I did was I got another xdm9 so now i got 2 and then i can send the junky old one in to get fixed while i use the new one. GOOD IDEA HUH.
  8. wow i didnt know they made front sights that thin
  9. scroll to the very bottom of this page http://www.pistolgear.com/products.php?id=47
  10. idk at this point whenever i have been surpised by an empty chamber or a round that didnt go off i hardly moved or did anything, which was somewhat reassuring.
  11. How did you get ''run off'' of an internet discussion forum?
  12. yeah ive done that a couple times when the suns been beatin on me for a while, its all good, your helping out and making the match run smoothly. $hit like that happenes once in a while. not the end of the world.
  13. would titegroup be considered a temperature sensitive powder? or no? do you have any data to reinforce?
  14. these threads are good to read because it encourages younger people to practice good lifestyle habits and / or not get into some career where you are not damaging your joints and bodyparts from repetitive tasks
  15. thanks for the info. the thing about the PF ive shot some lighter loads but they just dont sound and feel quite right for my taste. Then also when your bullets are going a bit faster those steel targets are going to get knocked over a little bit easier. I've been at a couple matches where some dudes had trouble knocking over some steel and then when i went to do it i didnt have any trouble so there are pros and cons.
  16. velocities are between 1080 and 1110fps but these bullets are also lighter than 124g most of the time more like 123g. thats not TOO fast for plated bullets is it? i dont know yeah thats one thing that kind of bugs me a little bit is i didnt have a solid rest or vice to put the gun in and there is still that little bit of ''operator factor'' in there i even asked this other person to shoot my gun and my ammo at a 25 yard target after the match and out of 10 shots 5 of them were clustered consistently high left (operator factor) but then 2 of them were spattered off in some odd spots low right and then 3 shots didnt even hit the paper at all and this was deliberate fairly slowfire shooting where you definitely wouldnt be missing. i had another person shoot 15 rounds or so out of a glock17 and i think 10 of them were kind of all over the place and 5 didnt even hit the paper but yeah with testing ammo i really think a good rest or gunvice or something might be a good idea. i still dont get why some of the bullets were tumbling though. i had a number of bullets go through paper that were completely sideways. ..and then i have that extractor being all loose and causing the odd FTE once in a while because the case just stays in the chamber and doesnt go anywhere..but thats another issue
  17. yeah i was lookin at that damn arcade game and was thinking ''dang i wish there was an adaptation of that game to pc just for me to goof around with''
  18. your going to get alot of people saying to just spend the extra money and get something better. Im going to say that Taurus 1911 will work fine for you. When i picked that thing up at gunshop i was at, i just grabbed it, pointed and pulled the trigger i just thought to myself ''very sweet''
  19. i was resting the gun on a table and being pretty slow and deliberate with the trigger pulling. oh yeah i forgot to mention you dont see it with these targets but at that match i had at least 5 bullets with some really bad key-hole action going on, i wasnt sure what the deal was with that.
  20. so i guess i need to invent this stuff all by myself
  21. reloads look pretty good, if you havent already when your dry firing also index to different imaginary targets and try reloading from different body postions, to strong hand/weak hand, and try doing reloads and then moving somewhere quickly / or trying doing reloads on the move and stuff if you have the space. lookin good.
  22. mine dont do that. Yours are broke. get new/different product, your choice.
  23. more flexible hamstrings stronger glute muscles stronger abdominals lower body weight or fat/muscle ratio
  24. I shot an idpa classifier today and had these horrible bad hits on those 20-25 yard targets. I know that most of the time it is the shooter doing most of the missing but this was especially bad shooting that happened so afterward driving back home i bought a box of factory Lawman 124g 9mm to shoot out of my XDm9 at the local range and compare it to the load that i used for the match which was: Rainier plated 124g RN 1.135 OAL 4.4g TiteGroup XDm /10 shots/ factory ammo/ 15 yards http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/XDmFactoryLawman124g15ydsR.jpg XDm /10 shots/ handloads/ 15 yards http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/XDmRainier124g15ydsR.jpg Xdm/ 10 shots/ Handloads/ 25 yards http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/006-3.jpg XDm/ 10 shots/ Factory/ 25 yards http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/XDmFactoryLawman124g25ydsR.jpg Then my dad came with me and brought his XD9 Tactical. I did the same thing with his gun. factory/ 15yds http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/XDfaclawan124g15ydsR.jpg Handloads/ 15yds http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/XDRainer124g15ydsR.jpg factory/ 25yds http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/007-5.jpg handloads/ 25yds http://i587.photobucket.com/albums/ss316/fieldboy1111/008-3.jpg What do you make of that...? Do you think the barrel on the XDm9 is getting worn out? It only has around 25,000 rounds through it though it is not shooting those Rainier bullets nearly as well as the XD9 Tac that has maybe 500 rounds through it. thanks for any input
