  1. I can't comment on Xtreme but back when I was testing bullets I found Bayou Bullets to be the winner for me.

Out of thousands of bullets I've only found one to be out of OD and didn't pass my chamber check. Don't recall the actual caliper reading but it wasn't much. That's why they all get chamber checked in the barrel it's intended to be shot from.

  2. FYI, if I remember correctly, ISMI recoil springs tested about 2 or 3 pounds lighter than stated on package.

That was several years ago and settled on Wolff because I found them to be true to advertised weight.

Use a timer and hits to tell you what works best. It's all about sight recovery.

  3. As far as the weight, remember other things effect it too. Main spring weight, weight of slide, recoil guide type {recoilmaster?}, geometry of hammer and radius of firing pin stop are the most talked about.

Recoil spring weight is recoil spring weight. Take it out of gun and test measure it.

Other items may affect the feel but the recoil spring weight doesn't know that.

  4. I use full synthetic Amsoil. That's what is used in my vehicles therefore always have some for pistols and rifles. I just put some in a small container with fine point needle applicator.

No need to worry about... I'm I using the most bestest fashionable oil? Haha

  5. I strongly suggest to others to get a spring weight tester so you know the actual spring weight not what is printed on package.

Wolff seems to be more accurate to advertised weights.

    I use a Wolff variable 11#.

    I like light mainsprings. ISMI

15# with Dawson extended firing pin.

  6. I'm on the Pro series and don't get the channel. Go figure.

I can top that...I don't have a TV! (you might know I am part of the show)

    That's too funny.

3 Gun Nation show doesn't keep my attention.

But shooting USA always keeps my attention. Like said earlier, must be the format.

I do DVR 3 Gun Nation and fast forward to Pats tech tips or gear tips, whatever it's called.

  7. The power check feature is a gimmick to sell you the 650. It works like crap. It's a waste of money. When I reload .223 the center rod gets pushed right out of the assembly by catching on the case mouth.. Spoke with Dillon. They had no answer.

Reloading .308 today. With the one I have in the .308 powder check also works like crap. One or 2 cases get checked. Then the next the buzzer goes off. I weigh the powder and it is the correct charge. No matter how I set the rod half the time it works and half the time it doesn't! A waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wish I had my 550 back. Never had so many issues with the 650.

Gimmick? Don't think so, I'll take the fifth station, auto advancing and case feeder options of a 650 every day of the week and twice on Sunday over a 550.

I use the powder check, not religiously, but specifically with 223 as it allows me to monitor the powder charge with tremendous accuracy. I can't see in the case, despite extra light, and I set-up my powder check so I can easily see how much powder is in the case by seeing where the point contacts/stops on the rod. I can easily see a 0.1 - 0.2 difference in powder using brass with the same headstamp.

    YMMV

    ^^^, agree.

  8. I have not had any issues with CCI 400 out of the AR. That said my preference is the Remington 7 1/2. I find they produce more accurate loads for me.

I load the CCI in my bang bang ammo just because I have them sitting around.

I agree. This is what I do as well.
