Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. We'll have to get you one of those shooting calendars. Shooting tomorrow??? Yeah, i'll be there tomorrow. Mind if I squad with you? I wanted to meet Nemo in GA but couldn't fit an extra hour drive into my schedule this month.
  2. My mistake. Obviously still learning the dates myself.
  3. Ancient City in St. Augustine does action pistol matches every fourth Saturday but it isn't considered a sanctioned USPSA match. The FOP #113 does a match every third Saturday that is sanctioned and held by SAPSA. Both are quite fun and many friendly shooters. There is also a match in northern Jax the second saturday of the month held by SEPSA. Their websites can be found at http://www.uspsa-clubs.com/sapsa/ http://www.uspsa-clubs.com/sepsa/ A member on the message board is the newly elected president of Sepsa. His user name is Nemo and is a great help. I hope you enjoy your shooting in Jax and looking forward to seeing you at a match. Oh and go bucks! I have a lot of family from lima ohio. My father also went to Baldwin Wallece and played for Tressel Sr.
  4. From what I know, I think the practice drill looks good and am looking forward to trying it. The only qualm I have is that movement and mag changes can be practiced at home with dry fire drills. So, for someone who has limited range time (like myself) should we be spending a portion of the time practicing what can be practiced at home? This is a personal question and not meant to take away from your drill, just wondering for myself.
  5. Thanks for the quick responses and link. I was unable to find anything on the topic, but then again I was just reading the topic names and not using the search function. Appreciate the help.
  6. Hey guys. I'm new to this sport and just thought of an idea about modifying targets to practice with. I currently have a box of uspsa targets and thought of putting/painting the "A" zone a different color to get my brain used to exactly where it is. Would this just distract me in a match b/c it wouldn't be there, or do you think it is a good idea? Or is this just kinda stupid b/c the "A" zone is in the middle anyway? Let me know your ideas or experiences. Thanks!
  7. This has been a great help and has made me think to pack a few more things into my range bag before my second match (this sat). It’s amazing that this thread has lasted for nearly a year now! I would also like to thank NEMO for all of the advice and help getting a production rig set up. Without him I wouldn't have been able to do it, or would have spent money on the wrong stuff. Thanks to everyone for helping me learn from your mistakes before I make them also. This forum has truly made my shooting experience much more enjoyable.
  8. I'm new to USPSA and would like to thank you guys for posting great tips and drills, especially the ones that can be done at home. I have only been able to do a "practice/training/introduction" session and I had the same speed problem. With the steel I would take my time b/c everyone knows if you hit it or not; however, paper looks/sounds the same from a distance so I wasn't as worried about it. I will definitely be annoying my fiance in the next few days trying to get my sight picture corrected. Thanks. Rwebb
