I talked the guy into doing a RTS He still has his old aimpoint though. I could see if he would want it. How much you want?

Unless you are reaming a lot of barrels roughing reamer is not needed. Another thing to consider is bore diameter. Nowlin and SV have tight 9mm bores. Most standard reamers wont fit. I've not checked a CZ barrel.

Eric, On all of your buffer experimentation has that made any difference on a trigger working or not? Was wondering if I could slow bolt down some if it would negate hammer bounce. Greg

H&M for nitride. Ionbond for pvd
-
Black nitride color wears off the rails fairly quick but the treatment is there forever. Make sure gun is fitted and functioning perfect before getting it done cause it hardens the hell out of the surface. PVD is supposed to be harder than chrome but it's applied so thin that it's probably a toss up with hard chrome on longevity. Which is a long time. Some gun part manufacturers frown on nitride(high application temps.) and hard chrome (chemical reaction) I nitride or pvd my builds unless customer requests hard chrome. That's my 2 cents worth. No rubbing. Installed correctly (I've used in .223s) JP 9mm scr set up the way it came. Thought about trying the lighter springs but customer is using Elftmann in his .223 and wants it light as possible. Did try Elftmann no doubles but it rarely reset.

Tried Hyperfire 24c with JP and Surmount bolts. Had doubles and triples and no reset with both. Velocity trigger was full auto. Waiting on a JP trigger to try.

Arredondo Aluminum Speed Loader Tubes– how do you carry them?
MB DOC replied to Bamboo's topic in Shotgun - Technical
Arredondo is making the two plastic shell retainers with bigger teeth to hold the shells in the tube. As far as the safariland tube holster I started putting rubber bands around the retainers after inserting the tubes in. Kind of a pain to keep a supply of rubber bands but it works -
Who makes the best quality Commander Slides
MB DOC replied to wanttolearn's topic in General Gunsmithing
I mostly use SV slides but if trying to save a little money go with Caspian, -
I know this is too late to help you but the EGW tool was made for standard 9mm barrels. SV and Nowlin barrels have tighter bores.Greg

I was a Mercedes Benz technician for 30 years. -
I recently had a 2011 in the shop for a new ejector that I built 3 years ago that I sent to Ionbond. It had over 100K rounds through it and only had minimal wear on the very front of the slide rails and worn through on slide stop at barrel contact points. I have Ionbond do 75% of my builds and have always been pleased. I have recently started using H&M Black Nitride (because of quicker turn around) and I like it. The black coloring doesn't wear well on the rail surfaces (as Rob said about Melonite) but the nitride treatment is not worn away. I haven't had any complaints so far from customers. Greg

Recommendations on IonBond vs DLC, and Vendors
MB DOC replied to chowellacsbd's topic in General Gunsmithing
I can send your gun to Ionbond. Is it fully prepped? If so the price is $350.00 plus return shipping to you. I use them and H&M black nitride. Ionbond looks better on polished flats than black nitride. When I use black nitride I leave all surfaces matte. It looks good too. Let me know if I can help. Greg -
I have put over 50,000 rds. through a model 41 in the last 8 years. I have had to replace an extractor once, it broke. The only other time I had a problem was due to a ton of crud built up in the firing pin hole causing the firing pin to stick forward. Great .22s

Is this available? I would like to buy one. Thanks, Greg
