Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. You mentioned shooting them in real conditions, on a stage to see which you like better. I would be nervous about making the wrong decision based off stage or match performance to see which you prefer. You may have forced something on that stage or fumbled here or there. I would try simple drills that you can repeat several times and see how they average out with you. Do multiple Bill Drills, EL Prez, Criss Cross or whatever and see what how each gun does once you take all the runs in and avg. This will help eliminate one offs like a bad draw or reload here and there, but will help show how you do and consistent you are with one set up vs the other. All lot can happen on one stage or a match.
  2. Rick,

Sorry to hear about your stroke, when I started shooting about 20 years ago we had a gentleman in our club  who had a stroke. He was mostly paralyzed on his non dominate side and had very limited mobility with his arm and leg. He shot revolver and would put the gun in his left and to reload. Not sure if it is an option with you or not but thought I would share just in case.

I saw you post these originally however seemed a bit high for me especially since we were expecting our 3rd child beginning of August. I didn't want to submit an offer in case they sold and didn't want to seem like I was trying to low ball you but I feel is fair market price. Its been about 6 weeks and doesn't seem to be any movement on these. I would be willing to go 4K for the match gun or 3,700 for the practice gun.

Good luck with your recovery and wish you the best.

  3. A few that I see were not mentioned yet.It may not be the most accurate shooting scenes, but it is an awesome shooter movie- Boondock Saints. Fighting movies- 300, Gladiator and Braveheart
  4. I would price out the shotgun reloading. Last time I looked into it, it was cheaper to buy new. Especially if you count your time.
  5. Surefire rifles(expensive but very good). Advanced Armament Corp for Rifles and Pistols. Cheaper than surefire for the M4 2000 (5.56 suppressor) and 762-SDN-6 (308 and below suppressor) Made with all Inconel baffel stack, very reliable, minimal point of impact shift. The TiRant is the quietest pistol suppressor i have ever shot. You can get different thread adapters for different barrels thread pitches and calibers . SWR/Silencerco for rimfire. best bang for the buck. can take down and shoot all rimfire including 5.7 through some of their cans.
  6. One piece tubes can be bought from RCI (Roth Concepts Innovations) and Noveske (RCI makes it for them, its red and too long for what you want 21" bbl) both are gonna run you $200ish. The Benelli is inertia driven so it will need far less cleaning and maint. The Remington is a gas gun but will run cleaner than most gas system guns. Some will say the remington will cycle lighter loads but i personally only like to run 11/8 oz loads so its a wash cause they will both run that load. For me its a Benelli with 24 but for what you want 21 will best. Run an extended choke and you can probably run the 9 round tube. It would only extend a little past the choke.
  7. Do you just want a 22 can or do you plan on shooting other rimfire calibers. Ben B gave you excellent suggestions. The SWR Warlock is a pretty good can for 22s. The SWR Spectre II is all rimfire capable and can even handle the 5.7x28. The Silencerco Sparrow will handle the same loads as the Spectre II. These companies are pretty much the same as I believe Silencerco bought SWR. The AAC Prodigy or element would be nice too, I think AAC overall makes some of the nicest cans out there. If you stick to any of these cans you wont be sorry it just depends on what you want to spend and what you are going to use them for. I believe these run in the 300-550 range.
  8. There is a place on Leopold's website about submitting ideas
  9. Not sure if this was posted already so sorry if it was but was wathcing a HBO series about the upcoming Manny Pacquiao fight and they showed a little segment of him shooting IPSC. Pretty cool seeeing a Major athlete/celebrity shooting IPSC and putting it in a positive light. Thought it was cool.
  10. If you have very bright sunny conditions I would caution you about the RMR dual illumintaion. The one I used washed out a bit and was tuff to track in our bright AZ sun.The adjustable LED was nice though. (If its out of your price range then why is it on your list?) The FFII is only available in 4MOA. The FFIII is available in 8 MOA has easir windage and elevation adjustment and is easier to change out the battery. No experience shooting the Cmore or the delta point.
  11. @ Warpspeed. What took me so long? Well the whole reason I started shooting USPSA was I SUCKED shooting handguns. I was solid with rifles and shotguns so I wanted to get better. I made it to B in a year and started getting A classifiers until I had to start working weekends which gave me about a 2 year USPSA drought. Now I am back in the game. Always though Open was "Cheating" since I wanted to get better at handgun shooting. I'm at the point where I feel confident in my shooting and will continue to shoot Limited but I'm ready for the darkside and want to HALL A@$ and have fun!!!!
  12. Looking forward to your findings. Just sent my payment for my open build so I have plenty of time to change from standard to aluminum if need be.
  13. That is cool, I dig the logo.
  14. Yup pretty pumped haven't heard a bad thing about FGW and very reasonbaly priced,I was amazed. Must be the best kept secret in the gun builing world.
  15. So I have been on the fence and finally took the dive to the darkside and ordered an open gun. Sent my build and initial payment today to Freedom Gunworks. Now time to wait. So I know 38 Supercomp is the way to go but I ordered a 9Major as I get free brass. I love shooting limited but had to give open a try. Im guessing I will see it in about 5-6 months (I guess that aint bad since you can't even get many factory guns that fast these days). Anyways I'm just stoked and cant wait to get my race on!!!
