Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I hate it when a gunsmith or conversion company tells me five or six weeks to complete a build, or do some work, but after eleven or twelve weeks, I still don't have my gun!!! Why is it that so many people in this industry are very friendly and responsive before they get your money, but once they have your cash, it is a different story. You know who you are-you have a great reputation on this forum but I did not appreciate being told that my build was delayed because of a (more important) corporate customer. (You did not say it this bluntly, but that is what you meant.) I understand business and the value of bigger customers, but my order should be valued, too. I want to be clear that I have not been screwed or cheated, just delayed--not a really big deal, just an unnecessary frustration. WJ
  2. Okay, my expectations are not outrageous, just that I will have a finish in the range of, or better than, the protection provided by CeraKote. It appears that my expectations (plus a great looking color combination, in my humble opinion) should be met. Thanks.
  3. This is disturbing news. I have a Saiga 12 being Ion Bonded in the new copper color. I was hoping for something at least as durable as Cerakote. UGHHHH! WJ
  4. Knock on wood, I have had very good success/luck with buying and selling on Gunbroker. I think you are being a bit too impatient. As a private collector who sells some of his stuff to buy other stuff, I know that sometimes I don't pick up my mail everyday. Sometimes, despite my best intentions, I can't ship the item immediately. A few days of delay should be factored into every step of the process. Also, people travel for personal and business reasons, which may explain the recent unavailability of the seller. What was the seller's rating? How many transactions has s/he completed? If the person has an A+ rating and more than 20 transactions, I would not yet be concerned. I would only become really concerned after about eight or nine business days out after I know the funds have arrived at the seller's address. WJ
  5. I have a factory nav system in my 3 year old car and the new Garmin, for which I paid $169.99, is much more up to date and entertaining. The Garmin shows roads which did not exist when the car was built. The Garmin is more entertaining in that you can set a background when it starts up and pick whether you want the voice to be male or female, to speak in Australian or British english or dozens of languages. The system in my car offers female English, Spanish and German, that is it. The new Garmin has a directional representation of a car, which you follow instead of an arrow - it is very intuitive, and much easier to follow. I don't think I'd ever intentionally get the factory system again. You could buy a new Garmin or TomTom every year for at least ten years for what the factory charges for theirs. Also, the up-dates are much easier to obtain and are much cheaper on the Garmin. WJ
  6. That is customer service over and above what I would have expected. We are a "Garmin" family, just out of habit. We bought one a few years ago and liked it. My 16 year old daughter's friends mostly have TomToms, so I have been tempted to buy one for her and try out the brand. It is good to hear that you have had a good experience with TomTom. But, that brings up an interesting note or commentary on our society. I would never, ever, even think about buying a Navigation system for a trip and then returning it once the trip is over. I find that to be almost as bad as if they had shop lifted the item. After all, they got a good and a service with no intention of paying for it. Ugh, some people. WJ
