So, USPSA is low on my priority list these days, but how often are you at a  disadvantage with a stock 21 rounder?  I have to assume in the stock configuration, it is ultra reliable??  I have a bunch of 17 rounders for IDPA and several 21 rounders for work.  I was going to order another half dozen to be dedicated USPSA mags......

I use the stock 21 rounders most of the time.  I use a 21 rounder with an extension only on a stage where I'm not going to do a reload and the 2 extra rounds may be needed if I have a makeup.

  2. I use the ISMI springs specifically made for, sold as, and marked on the packaging as for the X-5 in my x-5. They are definitely longer than those sold as and marked on the packaging for the 1911.

  3. I've tried Berrys, Rainer, and Everglades plated bullets in my PCC and decided to go with the Everglades 115gr RN Plated Version 2 with the thicker plate.  They were by far the most accurate of the 3.  I don't have any problem loading them to an accuracy level which is more than adequate for anything I've run into at a match,  including the longer range steel at the Pistol/PCC 2 gun Nationals.  But then again I've never taken my PCC to a bench rest or PRS match.  No intention to insult your loading knowledge but if you haven't loaded plated bullets before keep in mind that they can be very finicky about the amount of crimp.  Just enough to take out the case mouth bell and no more.  Bullet diameter plus case mouth thickness X 2 should be the measurement at the mouth of the case after loading.

I like the 510c much better than the VR80, still working on getting the VR80 to not crap the bed at a match.  Put the circle dot on the clay and it blows up.

Man that sucks, sometimes its luck of the draw.  Mine ran good out of the box but I still drill out the gas ports a little.  It runs everything I've tried including 1145fps and the cheap stuff.

  5. Shot this with PCC.  16 A 2 C in 10.28 HF 8.3658.   From the start position went back to the left rear moved to right rear then center shooting the first 2 targets of the back array while moving.

  6. I use a holosun 510c without a riser and a Magpul stock with a cheek riser that helps get me lined up. To Pattern I tape a clay to a target at 20 yards, using a black marker draw a circle around the clay, then shoot the clay. Using just the circle reticle I adjust so the pattern is centered on the clay. Then do the same thing from 10 to 30 in five yard increments to confirm.5709C215-13A4-4314-8D12-074FE9323E0C.jpeg.21b7f115d2d671f33a7025cc3686a6aa.jpeg

    Similar to mine.

    I wet tumble clean.

1st pass I size and deprime. Swage it in station 2. Trim in 3, M die to open the neck in 5.

    Wet tumble the lube off.

2nd pass I use a universal decapper to make sure the case is empty in 1. Prime in 2, powder in 3, seat a bullet in 4, very slight crimp in 5 to knock any burrs off.

Pretty much exactly what I do.  I wet tumble and dry in a food dehydrator.  Between passes I dry tumble in walnut.  Love being able to Swage on the press.  Glad I didn't listen to all the naysayers on the Swage-It die.  I've process over 15000 rounds this way without a problem.

  8. This is the grip I’ve been searching for. With the Lok palmswell grips it fits my hands perfectly and I like the balance. I never liked the feel of the TXG grip. That’s the Springer Precision extended mag release.

  9. Its really quite simple.  You don't need a backup gun until you need a backup gun.

A couple weeks ago I was visiting my daughters family 300 miles away and planned to shoot with the local club while there.  Had just made a couple changes to my PCC and had shot it in a steel match at home with no problems.  First stage of the match it stopped working after 10 rounds fired.  Couldn't get it running.  My Son-in-law  was shooting my gun also.  I had my carry gun with me and we shot that in CO, otherwise we would have been out of luck.  Not a true back up gun but same idea.  s#!t happens, be prepared.

I have played with the Taccom plus 5 extension and have it running about 99%. I took the BHO out of the follower and cleaned up the follower top & and bottom by polishing the edges. I also took where the extension locks over the tabs on the mag and slightly beveled in there also. My buddy running his did the same. Sad thing is my beat up T&N 24 rounder that I have had forever for the MKA runs perfect in my grandaughtes VR. Runs good in mine but won't drop free. I had to do a little modifying on that.

Magazines are tuned, just hanging up somewhere that I haven't figured out yet.

  11. I'll have to pick up some dry lube and try it.  I'll be shooting my first match with the VR-80 this weekend and still trying to sort some things out.  No matter what I try cannot get the TACCOM extension to work on the 19 round magazine, I'm sure I will get there just haven't found the sweet spot yet.  Gun seems to be running well but until it makes it through a couple matches I wont trust it.  I will have my VEPR there for a back up.

  12. On my VEPR I never use oil on the gas system, different system on VR-80.  Reading through the mega VR-80 thread it seems most are not lubricating the gas system.  I ran across this video and it states to lubricate the gas system.  I have been running mine without oil but this made me think about it.  What are your experiences with and without oil on the gas system?

  13. 135 grain coated Ibejiheads with 3.55 grains of Clean Shot @ OAL of 1.20 chronoed at 9 degrees F gave me average velocity of 971 pfs with a spread of 15 fps.  Power Factor 131.   I've been using Clean Shot for a few years now and its all I use for 9mm in both CO and PCC.

Nope the front of the added well keeps the mag from going in deep enough for the catch to hold it in place, so it an either or. I don't want to hack up the drum or mag well so use use of the drum is left to another Turk gun, my Hatsan you can see the space at the front of the well.

Thanks, that’s what I figured. Same with my VEPR.
