    I blew my gun up!

Knowing that my 180 grain 10mm bullet only drops about 5 inches in a hundred yards of travel is comforting. Knowing that my 10mm will punch thru barriers that most other pistol and revolver calibers won't, is comforting. Knowing that my 10mm which has all that extra capability, also has a capacity of 18, without a reload, is comforting. Having an Agrip on my gun is pretty comforting too... hehehe... btw... Hi Duane, long time no see... where ya been?

    I blew my gun up!

I never thought of Agrip as a blast shield either, until i got a call from my friend in Norway who started the conversation by saying; "I will NEVER cut around the mag release again... I will NEVER cut around the mag release again..." Cracked me up, because i tried so hard to tell him at the SHOT Show that he really didn't need to... but he insisted... as i was the one putting the Agrip on his gun for him at the Brooks Tactical booth. When he sent me the pictures it was really obvious that the areas of his hand that were injured were the areas not protected by the Agrip. The Agrip also soaked up a bit of the shock of the blast too. I guess it's just nice to know, and a little comforting, to have the blast protection as a little side benefit. TDean, i personally would cover the extended mag release and just tell people when they ask; "Id'z nodt a tumah..." in my best Arnold Schwartzenager voice. Hey, i thought you intended to use that denim colored Agrip only for a color coordinated fashion statement? Have you tried washing it? It should come clean pretty easy with a little dish soap. Cpty1, are you telling me that we're supposed to clean our Glocks??? I only cut around the slide release lever if it is binding... never have needed to on my own guns... and only cut a pin hole when it's time. I never cut around the mag release button on either side because it is never needed. Works much better covered. If i ever need to remove the mag release, i just peel the Agrip down. I've also done that for access to the rear pin, but typically i just cut a little hole on each side like everyone else.

    I blew my gun up!

TDean and others that have blown Glocks, Did any of you have any mag release button damage? I'm thinking that the blood blister on your finger came from the mag release button. I have a friend who blew a G20 with a double charge of 14 grains of Vitavorii. He was using an Agrip, but cut the Agrip around the off side of the mag release button area so he could change the button out, etc. When the gun blew, the off side end of the mag release button broke off and nailed him in the trigger finger... dislocating his finger... knocking it 90º to the right... (ouch!). He now swares he will never cut around the mag release again. (I told him not to! ) The blast also blew the trigger group out, but the barrel and slide were ok. The frame also had massive cracks in it, but the Agrip caught the majority of the blast coming through the cracks. He did get a nice little hole torched into his thumb knuckle where the hot gasses came through the rear trigger pin hole. He had cut a small hole in the Agrip to access the pin. Magazine blew out the bottom of the gun. He also had burns on the top of his hand where the hot gases blew through the space between the slide and frame. Amazing thing was that the Agrip had on the adhesive side an odd shaped golden colored wavy wedge shape stenciled into it. We later figured out it was from the hot gases that blew though the biggest crack. Apparently the gold color was from the brass "liquifed" from the blast. There was also a mix of unburnt powder and various very small metal and plastic particles stuck to the adhesive. Also quite amazing (to me) was that the width of the "golden wedge" at the top of the Agrip is about an inch or so wide. The pictures he sent me (along with the Agrip) showing the Agrip still attached to the frame, and that golden wedge, seem to indicate that the gun frame really expanded out kind of like a balloon at the top of the frame. I will have to get permission from him to post the pictures. Btw, nice to see so many 10mm fans here! I also have a G20 as my old CCW, and now carry a G29 with hi-cap mag and A&G grip extender as my CCW. In case you don't know, there's a "10mm club" at GlockTalk.com called "The 10 Ring"... not to lead anyone away... as this site of Brian's is GREAT! Right-on Brian! 4. A-Grip gets my vote as "the" best grip enhancement available. Guys... gals... try your Agrip's with the mag release COVERED.... it works WAY better! Also, by leaving the mag release covered on the "off side", if the gun ever does the infamous KBOOOM! the Agrip will keep the broken mag release button end from nailing your finger... and possibly even dislocating your finger... (yes it HAS happened... i have pictures and testimony...). The Agrip also helps contain the blast and direct it downward where it is best to go. If you need to change out the mag release button for different shooting classes, just peel down the Agrip from the top, change out the mag release button, then stick it back down and rub hard, then let the Adhesive "set" for a little bit. Just make sure everything stays really clean. If you need any more "extra adhesive", just let us know and we will ship you some out ASAP, no charge. Also, remember that each Agrip kit comes complete with a little extra-adhesive... just in case. Btw, Agrip IS LEGAL for "Stock Glock" GSSF competition and it's even printed in the GSSF rules and regs.
  5. Like Bompa said, getting Agrip really does work. Agrip even works better with sweaty hands. Agrip is totally non-abrasive and feels great in your hands. It sticks on with a pressure sensitive adhesive, but will not shift or move at all when applied, it will also peel right off without leaving any adhesive residue if you ever want to remove it. It also lasts for years. Agrip is #1 in customer satisfaction on Glock pistols, but is just not that well known yet for guns like Para's, STI's, 1911's, etc. Yes, this comment is coming from the guy that invented Agrip, but it is true none the less. One of the members here asked me to come participate, answer questions, and join the fun... so here i am. Most questions about Agrip can be answered at the BrooksTactical.com website, but i will try to answer any questions you all might have. Brooks Brooks Tactical Systems
