  1. It is the STI recoil master light, but not sure of the spring weight. You might call STI?
  2. I ended up using the 9 lb spring, it felt good and ran great. I am in love with my Steelmaster!
  3. All finished and she feels great! I bought this gun from Oak Hill, so I guess it is my new Oak Hill custom gun.
  4. Started working on mine, going slow and it is starting to feel better. I will keep working at it and post pics when finished. It is making a real difference in my grip! Thanks for sharing fellas! Much appreciated.
  5. What weight recoil spring in a STI Steelmadter with a full length guide rod? Using Freedom Munitions remanufactured ammo. 124 gr. 9 mm.
  6. I am in envy of that job. I am going to try on my own, so I my not be able to do the frame part .
  7. Ssanders, that is a beautiful job! Did you have to refinish the frame?
  8. Nice pic! I like that reduction. Did you do it yourself?
  9. Has anyone slim downed their grip safety? Specifically the corner right behind the thumb safety. I have small hands and am shooting a 2011 and would like to get a little more thumb meat on the thumb safety. The grip has already been reduced and a small MSH installed. Pics of any mods you have made would be greatly appreciated!
  10. I have the same problem as the young man who started this post. Are there exercises too help develop using both eyes instead of the tape or chapstick? Is it important or more important to shoot with both eyes open when shooting a gun equipped with a red dot sight?
  11. I had this exact same thing happen to me recently when I put a new slide stop in my Edge. I was afraid to shoot it, and tried a different new slide stop that ended up working just fine. I measured the OD of the old to new slide stop, with the new being 0.03 of an inch wider,
  12. Bunchies, this why I threw the question up on the forum to see if anyone would defend it and how. Because I am sure someone would fight it the day of the match. Like you, I think it is probably legal, especially at a level I match. Why not use poles and rope to dictate what you want to achieve on the stage?
  13. Is it legal to assess a penalty for stepping outside the fault lines if it is written in the WSB?
  14. recon215, Mine are on .40 tubes. I have the 3mm and can easily get 20 reloadable rounds in 6 different mags. 4 have been tuned by Brazos Customs and the other 2 are Mags I put together to use for practice. I was using DP base pads and was happy with those also, but the TTI ones feel better in my reload. I like them so much, I just today ordered 4 more for a 9mm I am setting up.
  15. I have a reduced grip and a small mainspring housing. I had a Ed brown wide ambi safety install so I could reach the safety just to be able to reach it. I think that if I can get a hold of a right side mag release I will be good to go. That is how I have all my other guns set up and it seems to work for me, but they were all easy, just turned them around. Not that easy on the STI! Guess I need to get me a Mitchell's custom right side mag release. Seem to be hard to come by!
  16. I have very small hands and have much trouble releasing the mag on my STI Edge without totally have to readjust my grip to release the button and then again to shoot. This is troublesome for a few reasons, like control of the gun, time and regaining the the proper grip. I have tried various extensions, buttons and etc. to no avail. Are there right side mag releases and where can I get one fast?!? Is there more than one producer of such a product. If so, who makes the best one? Thanks ahead of time for any input!!!
  17. I just started using these and I have the Dawson Ice Magwell,,,the combo works great for me. They are very easy to remove and allow for quick cleaning. I use Grams springs and followers and really like them, but have no other reference since this is the only setup I have tried in my limited gun..
  18. Thanks for all the help. Did some dry fire draws and shoots in the house this evening and think I am getting what you say August. Shooting a match tomorrow and will be watch myself and others!
  19. I am having problems getting that first shot off after the draw, especially on a distant target or a steel plate. At the draw should I keep my eyes on the target and bring the gun into view and then switch to the front sight, or should my eyes go immediately to the sights and then move the gun to the target while eyes are on sights?
  20. Thanks Fellas! I have a local smith, just was wondering how much it might set me back.
  21. Had the same problem, so I bought one of Jimmy Mitchell's custom right side mag releases. You can then use your index finger on the right hand without changing your grip, plus it keeps that trigger finger off the trigger when making a mag change. I have small hands and short fingers. You might also consider a reduced grip.
  22. Did the .225 give you enough adjustability with the back sight?
