As someone who is just about to begin in this sport I thought I would let you guys know that the experiences posted here are so valuable to anyone new to shooting.The other threads on techniques and looking after gear are fantastic but the experiences that are posted here are in my opinion even more valuable as they may well save a life and at the very least maybe stop someone from ruining there own enjoyment of a days shooting by getting themselves disqualified. Those that have made mistakes and posted about it should be commended for the courage to admit they did the wrong thing and have learned from it. It should be awake up call to us all that we are all capable of errors regardless of skill levels and this sport probably much more than most requires 100% concentration at all times. I dont know how good a shooter I will turn out to be but I,m pretty sure I,m going to be a safe one with what I have learned from this forum. Cheers Martyg

Thanks for the welcome everyone, Yeah your right about the regulations on handguns over here, Need permission from Police to join a pistol club which will take a minimum of 28 days then 6 months probation as a member of pistol club before you can apply for a permit to buy your own handgun, You can at least shoot using the clubs guns and you must attend and shoot in at least 4 comps in that 6 months so yeh lots of patience needed over here LOL.cheers Marty
