  1. I use ceramic stones for light metal removal.
  2. Looks like you're correct.
  3. Rule interpretation can be tricky. Since the wording is "or another approved gun" and not 'another approved production gun' I am not so sure about its meaning. Have they ever made a ruling concerning this general versus specific terminology?
  4. I didn't weld anything, but I think I may have filed the little nub so it would ride in the channel in the slide better. Mine sits off the frame about .010" though - I'm not sure what you mean by the "retaining notch" except maybe the notch on the long post where the retaining spring sits?
  5. Is the TSO an "approved gun?"
  6. I'm using a low profile Rami slidestop on my S2. Works good for me. Last round lockback is good as well.
  7. Since I'm just a half-azzd shade tree tinkerer who lacks a workbench, vise, etc., I order the hammer, disco, pins, AND a spare hammer strut and type in the notes section for CGW to assemble this sub-assembly. I just pull the old assy out and drop in the new. If I ever want to sell, I just switch them back. Easy peasy!
  8. I would be tickled shirtless if I could get mine 1.5" close together.
  9. http://www.magazineblocks.com/magento/products.html?p=6 Maybe this site?
  10. I looked at the site from the link you provided, but could only find AR 15 magblock safety devices. What did I do incorrectly?
  11. What ammo does your CTS like for shooting groups?
  12. Did you get a chance to check out the Rami slide stop yet?
  13. I forgot to mention I was shooting off a sandbag.
  14. I just got back from the range where I shot the best two groups with my Shadow2 yet. I had been shooting three to four inch groups at 25 yards all morning using 147 gr FM round nose ammo and was thinking this was the best I was going to get. Then I took a bathroom break and opened up a fresh box of the 147s. My first group from that box measured 1.4" outside bullet hole to outside bullet hole - which means about 1.25" center to center. My next group was about 2.0" and then I went back to shooting 3" to 4" groups. Guess I was holding my mouth just right for the smaller groups. I'd like to check it out with a Ransom Rest just to see what the real mechanical accuracy is.
  15. Mine did similar. I contacted David and he sent me instructions on removing a little trigger off the disco - fixed it right up. I don't use overtravel screws.
  16. The point on the short post that the picture in the link shows you looking right straight into. I ground it off flush. I didn't touch the part of the nub that is on the left of the short post in the pic. That short post is a different length and the point won't ride in the channel in the slide and will prevent cycling. The longer post is a different overall length as well, but the small channel that the slide lock spring locks into is at the same (or close enough) distance so that it locks the Rami slide stop securely into the frame.
  17. The little point that points up when the slide stop is in it's normal position in the slide is at a different location than the S2, P01, or "SP01 Compact" slide stop (all the same) and it will prevent the slide from cycling more than about a half-inch unless it is ground off.
  18. Right at 400 rounds with the Rami slide stop. The nub on the short, squared off post that rides in a channel in the slide. I just ground it off flush. The grind is not visible unless you pull the slide stop from the gun.
  19. I also use the Rami on my S1 for the same reason (high grip). I ground down the little nub that rides in the slide of a Rami slide stop down and put it in my S2 - works good, even locks back on an empty mag. I've got about 600 rounds through. I thought I would lose lock-back capability, but I didn't.
  20. I upgraded my Shadow1 with the hammer and disco from the S2 and got some surprising results. It almost eliminated the SA pretravel. However, my DA developed a 'wall' - about 3/4 through the pull it gets real stiff. Any suggestions on what to look for?
  21. The Shadow2 slide stop is different then the Shadow1 slide stop. The S2 slidestop works in a P01. If you know someone with a P01 or S2, perhaps you could try it. The CZ steel frame pistol with a rail also fits a S2. May be it fits your pistol?
  22. I just ordered a Shadow2 from CZC. Order is processing. Can't wait.
  23. I think I would have done exactly what you did; keep the pre-b and buy the gun I wanted. By the way, I've ordered a 75 pre-b "transitional" and I was wondering what mags you can use in yours?
