  1. I use 2.7 gr. of Solo 1000 for a power factor of 136 in my Hi Power and 134 pf in my Beretta 92. Like people have stated its like shooting a pellet gun with this load.
  2. Hambone...What did you find with the Bayou 147 and 135 grn ??
  3. I used AA#2 back in the 80's for my 52 S&W with hollow base wadcutters according to my notes. The problem arose with such a small powder charge and a somewhat large case capacity we would get unburned powder due to the powder not being close enough to the primer in a normal firing position we figured. We used Super Grex [ shotgun buffer material for buck shot loads] as a filler between the powder and bullet. Worked like a charm..no more unburned powder and cut the goup size down out of the Ransom Rest. I guess i will have to pick up a pound and play with it in 9mm...dont know untill you try.
  4. I also prime with a basically hand primer. Its an RCBS..bought it when the exwife set off 2 primers in the press. I like the feel better with the hand held ..may take longer but havent had a primer problem in last 12 years of using it.
  5. I personaly would not be shooting for group size off hand. i always shoot from a bench when testing any new load to make sure its not me. I have been shooting handguns and reloading or over 30 years myself. You stated bullet cost is not a factor..i disagree and the reason being is you will find you shoot more now that you are reloading for your handguns. Powder choice you are going to find a lot of different choices that will work..N320..solo 1000..AA2..AA4..231..HS-6..etc. Its a matter of what works best for you in the application its intended for just like your 30-06 unless you only tried one powder in that and OAL.Reloading can be a very interesting and rewarding hobby.
  6. Go to Hennings website for parts and mags. You will find that he is an incredible person to deal with. You will learn that the comp you have needs a lot of gas to work properly. Auto Comp and AA#7 work very well with mine when loaded to major. I load to an over all of 1.170 with out any problems in the mags . I use the 9x21 barrel like yours and load 9x19. With over 12,000 rounds through it there have been no problems.
  7. Why not try casting your own ? At 600 per session it wont take long to pay for the casting toys you will need. I taught my children to cast when they were 10 years old. 20 years later my 2 sons still cast their own. One of my daughters reloads for herself and her husband. Great way to spend family time together !!
  8. Looks like the same mag release on my silver team. Yes i like it ! Hmmm
  9. My sincere condolences Glockman also. 2 years ago in January i also had a heart attack. Told my children i was getting back into shooting again. This January i had 2 more Must be January's are a bad month for me. I totally agree its a great stress releiver and theraputic. Beleive it or not my cardioligist agrees. Good luck !!
  10. My Tanfo shoots them just as good as MG. Really cant tell a differnce in accuracy with that particular weight. The lighter weights MG has the edge. Just my opinion with my particular gun.
  11. Super looking Tanfo ! Looks like the craftsmanship through out is excellent and well worth the effort and wait. I just hope that nice looking checkering doesnt act like a cheese grater to your hand. Good luck with your new toy.
  12. Similar to what Sarge is talking about. I worked up some loads for my BHP. 2.7 solo 1000 with 160 gr lead. At 1.095 they were 855.8 avg for 10 rounds. At 1.130 they were 796.7 for 10 rounds. CED M2 chronograph. At 25 yards there wasnt any noticable difference in accuracy or felt recoil. This was at 78 dgrees for both loads.
  13. Dannix...that 160 gr that M109R is using came from Penn Bullets. I have tried that load since he gave it to me and he is 100% correct. Its a sweet shooting round out of 3 of my 9's.I wish i could find a mold for it !!
  14. Who did the chrome work ? Excellent looking and a very nice choice of mods ! Hope it shoots as good as it looks.
  15. Using Solo 1000 also. Clean burning and 3.7 grains does an excellent job in my gun with that 147 form precision delta. Just work up your load first..some of the 1000 is slower burning from one lot to another. I got lucky and have the fast lot. The barrel seems to stay cooler after multiple rounds and no unburned powder.
  16. It almost looks as if your new guide rod is shorter than the old one and caught the edge of the bushing.
  17. M109R...care to share the load for the 160's. It sounds interesting so I ordered some last night.Thank You
  18. Me 3.I have a small frame older comp gun with 2 rear dovetail cuts. i was wondering if the slide racker off a Gold would work from Henning. With a propoint in place the slide is a pain to get to.
  19. Ordered a carrying case from CED online . Received a call the next day they are on back order until the end of March. just thought i would let people know.
  20. Wilson gauges here also. Yes i check every round i dont need problems that i might have missed.
  21. I have the same small frame gun except in 9x21. Mine is very accurate and a ball to play with. Go to EAA website and check about your firing pin. Depending on the serial number it needs to be replaced from what i read.
