  1. 3GN Had a problem with their publisher this go round and the magazines ended up sitting in a warehouse for quite a while before shipping. They are changing publishers needless to say. If you guys have any trouble redeeming that Vertx Coupon, message me and I will get you taken care of.
  2. I did. My criteria for evaluating everything I tried was what I saw through my scope while shooting a plate rack at 50 yards. I liked what I saw better with the set up I am running. I even tried to lightened/gutted buffer set ups with the Boomfab. And lower recoil springs. But I feel that reliability might become a concern going that far.
  3. The first month I had mine I experimented with around 20 different combinations of ammunition, buffer setups, gas settings, comps etc. Side by side on identical rifles with and without the BOOMFAB. What I settled in on for my guns was the Titane with a JP polished spring and a standard carbine buffer (in my carbine length stock). I am about 1.5 turns down on gas over the previous carrier I was running just like Jesse mentioned. There is a NOTICIBLE change in muzzle rise over any other carrier I have used, especially on long offhand shots. Follow-up shots are definitely faster on the long stuff with this BCG. It is a premium part for sure. But if you are looking for every possible edge, the advantages are undeniable. Mine has almost 8k rounds on it at this point in multiple rifles without a single failure. I know a few guys have more than that with the same consistency.
  4. Based on what this mountain series barrel has been doing for me I would leave it be and save that money for a trigger.
  5. Full disclosure: Rainier is one of my main sponsors. Its possible that you may have seen the video that I did for them about the RUC. But that being said when I received the rifle I was EXTREMELY impressed with it. You wont be disappointed. Like APL-G35 said the fit and finish is excellent, and the gun is way more accurate than something at that price-point should be. I shot a 1/2moa group in the video at 100 yards, and I have done better with it at times, at longer distances. I think with a trigger upgrade like you are planning, you aren't going to want for anything else. When I originally received it I shot a 3 shot group to get an idea of what sort of scope adjustments I needed to make and thought something was wrong when I could only see one hole through my spotting scope. Then I realized that first 3 shots out of the rifle were all in the same hole. Those were my reloads (and not my precision ammo, just 55grain hoser stuff). If you end up with one, let me know, and I can get you the load data for what it likes. I have spent quite a bit of time with the one I have, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask away! Chris
  6. Congratulations to my boy JT for his shoot-off win this weekend. He did some split screens with all the competitors that are pretty cool on his YouTube page: Tischauser vs. Butler vs. Payne vs. Perry http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=db3gwkpPEzE&sns=em Tischauser vs. Voigt vs. Chandler vs. Coley http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKkPqKCk4xs&sns=em Tischauser vs. Garcia vs. Jordan vs. Horner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5BLlltbkQU&sns=em
  7. Match was a lot of fun guys. Everybody was great, I will definitely be back!
  8. Guys I had this thread brought to my attention and attempted to contact them as well with no luck. They actually did not renew me for next season, and I have been negotiating with new sponsors, so I have had very little interaction for a while. Which I'm sure is what no one wants to hear. I am sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
  9. I actually tried to call and check today but got a busy signal all day and thought id see if anyone knew. Suppose I could have bothered you Kurt.
  10. Anyone know the weight of a 20" JP .308 Barrel minus comp, gas block, etc?
  11. Exactly. While it sucks that a couple of guys went minor, I know at least in the case a mutual friend (who was on my squad), it had nothing to do with the chrono setup. He was simply cutting it a little too closer than he realized with temp sensitive powder and got burned, even when they gave him 8 rounds to make major. Had they moved back to the proper distance, he would probably have missed it by a lot more. He got bumped to minor because he was shooting minor. I personally love this match. The stages are bigtime fun, the people are great, and the "informality" frankly makes it a lot more enjoyable. It also sounds like Jim is taking all the constructive critism to heart and I imagine he will make all the necessary corrections to make the match even better next year.
  12. I'm not a big fan of 6" guns and sight trackers. I am about 3k rounds into this thing now and can say it is fantastic. By far the most accurate pistol I've ever shot as well.
  13. Sorry, just saw your question. As shown this gun is just over $2900.00.
  14. Built by Mike Cyrwus of Accurate Iron. All set for the 2012 3 gun season!
  15. I own a JP15 as well and would say they are very comparable.

  17. These are going to be very hard to beat for the money. I have spent quite a bit if time with the protoypes. Good trigger, Comp, accurate barrel, low mass carrier and carbon handguard right out of the box. Rifle is VERY light and shoots great.
  18. I've really like the team shootoff idea. It brings a fun new element to the end of the day. Another idea might be an 8 person random draw shootoff for the amateurs. Hold it prior to the big shootoff and the winners get prizes for good finishes. Overall Am winner gets a wildcard spot in the big money shootoff!
  19. Guys I dont want to argue but since I am in that video I do want to comment. Jesse calling out a couple of plates in the woods were simply a case of him trying to help a friend within the rules of the match whose shotgun shooting/loading plan he was not aware of. I am only hearing half of what was said for the first time watching this video (Keep in mind he is 30 feet or more behind me half the time and I was double plugged). What I did hear was more of a distraction than anything, as those plates were simply in a different place in my plan than his. The only plate that I had brought to my attention that I had missed in the match was called out by the RO on the stage. I want to congratulate James Casanova for a win in Tac Irons in this match and a trip to is first 3 Gun Nation Shoot Off in this match! Great shooting man! I also want to comment on what a class act Pat Kelly was at this match. I was displeased with the order we were drawn for the prize table and offered him my prize rifle knowing that he had beaten me in the match and I went to the table before him and he refused to hear of it.
