Looks for Match

Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Conflicting info on this, question was posted on USPSA FB and they say the grip module is legal in Production: https://www.facebook.com/theuspsa/photos/a.166638586681667/3217128264966002/?comment_id=3490906294254863&reply_comment_id=3491332670878892&notif_id=1597262964757258&notif_t=comment_mention&ref=notif
  2. Will do. But if the holes are really 6-40 wouldn't they "fill" the holes properly (as much as possible)? It sure seemed like the correct fit when I installed them, no slop or looseness.......
  3. Agree and will be upgrading the screws to a higher strength grade. (May not matter, but it'll make me feel better.....lol). Theoretically the shearing force is less since all the ammo used will be my 130 PF match loads. Replacing the screws regularly is cheap insurance, I've ordered spares. You are correct re: the SRO is not touching the front or back of the slide cut. The very bottom edge of the front of the SRO might be touching the slide but not enough to provide any meaningful support. I agree that the best solution for now is the Springer plate, plus it cuts down on the fouling of the SRO lens. But I'm going to start without it and monitor. It'll be an interesting test in any case.
  4. Yeah, have the Springer plate in case I have issues. I prefer the lower LOS with the direct mount option. One other interesting discovery: To mount the SRO to the slide you have to find/use 6-40 flat head screws. 1/2" length was the recommendation from another post. I used these but noticed that the RH screw enters the extractor channel in the slide. If the extractor is out of the gun when you mount the SRO you cannot re-install it without the thickest part of the assembly hitting the screw. For initial testing I installed the extractor first and then mounted the SRO. The screw tip is then over the (smaller diameter) extractor spring. Not positive there is no contact, but the extractor feels and operates normally with no issues. Also, I can't feel any drag on the spring when I move it in and out. Of course this is a temporary solution, I'll be trimming/dressing both screws enough for the entire extractor assembly to clear. Don't want to loosen that RH screw when cleaning the extractor and channel. Not to mention potential long term effect of minor interference.......
  5. Just mounted an SRO directly to the slide on my X5 Legion. Have about 300 rounds through it with no issues. I am a bit concerned that there are no front locating lugs to help prevent movement and reduce stress on the 2 mounting screws, but with light target rounds only I may get away with it......
  6. Great thread, IDPA follow up question. I have a 320 X Compact that I want to set up for IDPA CO. I believe that their CO refers to ESP (not SSP) as the basis for equipment rules. So in IDPA CO (ESP), can I assume that an aftermarket trigger like GG will be allowed? Thanks
  7. Doh! Didn't think of that. Have fiddled with this on ARs but never pistols. All parts mentioned stock with less than 1K fired. How best to do this? Link to how-to details? Thanks!
  8. Running an new SRO on my M&P Pro Series Core to shoot CO. Tried the RMR first but struggled a bit due to smaller window size. (Spoiled by Open frame mounted large window optic....) However, I am getting FTE jams too often to be match ready (much less for any other purpose....) The front bottom edge of the optic is trapping spent brass between that surface and the very back of the slide. I really like this optic but need to get these jams gone. It is close to the very back of the ejection port so I was hoping that someone had addressed this by building a Core mounting plate with a little flange in the front to fit below the bottom edge of the optic and fill that gap? Kinda like a shortened blast shield but an extension of the mounting plate. Anyone know about this option or any similar fix? (I assume it would still be USPSA legal?) Another option might be to have the slide customized to move the mount further back on the slide (giving up the dovetail for rear iron sight)? Not sure if the new plate mounting holes would interfere with interior slide parts tho...... Thanks!
  9. Has anyone measured and compared the MV and PF between their minor pistol load and the same load in their PCC? I'd be curious to know the load, PF in both pistol and PCC (including barrel length). Thanks!
  10. Sorry for the late reply. Found Taylor on the MPX FB Group, he's a member and you can find his info there. Some good info in the group but many members do not shoot matches so don't have some of the concerns we have.........
  11. My 8" Gen 2 would not cycle my pistol Minor PF load (which is 3.2 gr of 320 under a 135 gr RN Bayou Bullet). Sent the barrel off to Taylor who opened up the port to .060" and re-threaded the barrel to 1/2x28 while he had it. Now runs the pistol load like a top, about 1.5K rounds so far and no issues. Locks back the bolt using short mags but not reliably with the Springer 40 rd extensions, but pretty sure this is a mag spring issue, not the gun. I have not chronoed this load in the MPX and could probably build it softer but it has very low recoil, runs reliably and I like having one batch of 9mm match ammo to deal with......
  12. Same with my MPX, Iron sights are in the range bag just in case the CMore goes down. Great optic for PCC, got the aluminum one with the click switch
  13. The Gen 2 MPX is under gassed for light loads, like Minor PF and some subsonic, especially the heavier bullets. My Gen 2 would not cycle my Minor PF reloads (130ish) that I use in Production. I had the gas port opened up to .060" and now it runs like a top..... Waiting on the SBR stamp so I can actually fire it from my shoulder......
  14. This has already been changed (fixed) in the latest proposed PCC appendix from April 12: http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-board-mtg-minutes.php The link in the rules page (http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-rules.php) still has the old version from March. Aha...... this settles the point in my earlier post. Thanks for digging this up, I don't go digging into meeting minutes for this kind of info. Guess they need to update the website. Thanks for clearing it up.
  15. Doc, thanks for posting the video. Great to actually see stages shot with a PCC. Question: at around 0:48 of the video you lean left around a barricade to shoot a tight target. I see that the gun is canted left for this but is it still contacting your shoulder? Can we instead legally shoot tight shots like this by just pushing the gun off the shoulder and holding it out two handed? (Not trying to make an RO call on you, this scenario is what I need to figure out for PCC........) Thanks
