It’s pretty close, closer to a G45 though because it’s basically that but with a 1/4” longer (G17 size) slide. I prefer it to the G17 but it’s…very close.

Couldn’t they just get rid of CO entirely? Have Production / Production Optics with a 15 round max (minor only) & Limited (major / minor) / Limited Optics (major / minor or just minor only?) with a 140mm magazine and all the other current Limited rules. Open for race guns and Single Stack for true Americans who like to do reloads… And I guess Revo for…those Revo people.

Having Production and CO both go to 15 seems good especially if it’s more in line with the international rules. LO for folks that want to shoot a fully tricked out 9mm with a dot on the slide, neat. I’d probably mess around in all those divisions a bit as that seems like they would more mirror what people are actually carrying and training with on the practical side these days. But I’m a Single Stack guy and just want to keep all the reloads to myself.

I use the factory +2 magazines at work and want to shoot Production class from time to time, does a G17 with the factory +2 baseplates fit in the box? I don’t know if I have any regular ones? It’d be nice to not have to get new baseplates… Anyone got a box, a full size Glock and a 17 round magazine with the factory +2 on it that can check?

Currently shooting a full house by Tim Graves, my backup gun is an older Wilson that I shot for many years & just threw down a deposit with Eddie Garcia to build me another match gun...all are in .45 ACP...if you want something nice, do it. It took me many years to understand exactly what I wanted on a 1911 to make it the way I thought a 1911 should be. Lots of production and semi-custom guns will work just fine for most anyone, but...Single Stacks are awesome and really nice Single Stacks are even more awesomer...and one done up exactly how you want it is the most awesomest.

Has anyone experimented with shooting a MOS pistol with the plate removed? Like the saddle cut on Atlas Guns to reduce reciprocating weight...just something I’ve been curious about.

Well, The Bear Creek 147gr flat nose loaded out to 1.15 plunk and spin with no issues in my Gen 5’s...didn’t bother seeing if I could go longer as 1.15 seems like a good OAL for 9mm.

I’ve been shooting 147gr Xtreme RN over 3.3 N320 at 1.15... shoots super soft.

Any issues with moly coated bullets in Gen 5 Glock barrels? My Agency is going to them and I just picked up a couple to start playing with. Currently using the same 147gr Xtreme over N320 I loaded for my H&K’s with no issues. Was planning on trying a box of Bear Creek 147gr that a buddy has...

Just found a RMR for low $ and want to put it on my rifle that is currently wearing a NX8, what’s out there? I see the Burkett one is out of production...I was liking the way it was designed. Anything under $100 that’s any good?

I love SS and have been using a Wilson in .45 auto for the last 10 years. I’ve got Tim Graves making me a full house custom in .45 currently. I really don’t have any interest in shooting SS minor in matches, it’s basically production at that point, but with a more awesomer blaster. I’ll probably end up with a 1911 in 9mm at some point (my Agency is going to 9mm so there should be some training ammo available), it makes sense to have one around.

I’ve been using a CQB in SS for 10 years...all I added was adjustable sights and a mag well. They are great guns.

I’m having a gun built on a Jem frame like this currently after shooting one done the same way that a buddy owns. It’s very nice, tracks more like a Limited gun than a regular 1911.

If you find grips you like that put you over weight just dremmel out the back...I had to on a set of VZs to get under.

I got an ELS system a year or so ago for SS and LTD and now am getting into some 3 gun. It. Is. Awsome.

Try a Wilson ETM as well...they are built with a slightly longer tube that helps with seating on a full mag. I switched to them from 47D’s a year or so ago and they have functioned excellently.

I thought the only reason to have it disabled in Ltd was to maximize the rounds on your magazine...if I could still get 20 in there and have the slide hold open I’d prefer it, I’ve been a SS guy most of my time shooting though so that may play a part in my thinking.

I’ll secong the PIG gloves. I wear Mechanix at work but the PIG Alpha touch are amazing to shoot in, just wish they would last as long as the Mechanix and were not as expensive. The Magpul gloves are pretty good too but hard to get on / off quickly.

I just went through a bad case of this...ended up with a cortisone shot from my Md. that cleared it up after a week or so.
