Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. They jammed 5 stages on our squad last year as well. 4/3/3 was supposed to be the format, they should be thinking of the shooters and what they are saying.
  2. Bryan nailed it! That is how I feel and run my matches. I had someone ask me if I was going to join 3GN and run it like that. My answer was basically 'Why so I can pay someone"? I use all my match money to run the match, targets, pasters, steel and other props are expensive. We all volunteer our time to set up and tear down.
  3. I would have to say I like time plus penalty over a point based scoring. Like most said, we all bring gear that should work, if it runs and you shoot well you can win. Stuff breaks and other factors that are beyond our control. I say let the clock run!
  4. Going home because you are not shooting well doesn't sound very sportsman like. People that spray and pray need to account for those bullets that don't hit the target. No shoot should be a higher penalty.
  5. i don't think it would slow that many people down that much.
  6. I see nothing wrong with 1 point = 1 second. Accurate and fast shooters will still win.
  7. The gun may not like the bullet you want to shoot. You might need to switch it up and trial multiple brands of bullets and powder. Seating depth is another story.
  8. I guess my question to the OP is how many rounds do you plan on shooting in a local match? I know we don't shoot much over 50 Shotgun rounds at our club matches.
  9. Rifle powder is available,as well as select pistol powders. When you see them you need to be quick, and have the funds. Prices have gone up and I imagine will stay that way.
  10. That picture from Canton looks like what we have to purchase in Virginia. Powder here has come back, brass is thought to find anywhere is certain types.
  11. Never shot is with slugs but it takes a ful mag on .40 to spin it.
  12. I also don't think that a change is needed. A lot of us volunteer our time to run these matches. Lets make it easy and keep the fun in it. More math equals more time and headache.
