  1. Yup, they use the large frame. I agree that one make up shot on 16 rnds fired is not much and sucks especially when you have to shoot a lot of steel. I guess for guys like Grauffel that's perfectly OK, but I would also have difficulty with that. A pro for the Tanfo is the price. It's like 50% of the least expensive STI (over here in Europe). And of course, the thing with the 10 rounds. How could I forget. Smart thing to do. America has too many guns. You know what? Lets make sure people can only shoot ten people with them. . I bet murder rates have dropped like a brick since then now haven't they?
  2. Bonedaddy, nice analogy. I guess next time someone uses some profanity, we could DQ him for an AD.
  3. Profanity is weird isn't it? I mean a word like the f-word is offensive to a lot of people. We all know what it means. Same goes for s**t. But s**t has the same meaning as crap, but crap is OK, because people decided it's not as offensive. Still, I know people are offended by some bad words and I'll try to use as little offensive words as possible, but I'd rather see someone use the f-word, than someone telling me I suck as a person in "good words". I mean that profanity is not the worst way of offending someone using language. Does this make any sense at all? I didn't think so. Bjorn
  4. Francis, you will save very much if you reload .45. 9mm you can pick up for the same price as the loose components, but the advantage here is you can make a custom load for YOUR gun. On .45 you will save AT LEAST half the money (or shoot twice as much), so a square deal for instance will pay for itself in the first 3000 rounds you load with it. Go for it. You'll be glad you did.
  5. Erik, the Tanfo holds 15+1 standard and can easily be upgraded to 16+1. Do you honestly think a one round difference means it's not a competitive limited gun? I mean, I heard TGO shot a single stack .45 in some area match and kicked butt (including hi-cap .40 S_I butt). I agree with the sight problem and the slide stop being weak (BTW I'll see if they have a standard or light duty stop too), but one round does not make a gun less or more competitive. There are just too many factors involved IMHO.
  6. I've heard the CZ IPSC standard rocks, but I've also heard the slide will split over the full length after about 20,000 rnds of 170 PF .40 for what it's worth. Anyway, the CZ/Witness platform will certainly hold up. I think you will realize this after you've seen Eric Grauffel shoot his .40 Tanfoglio Limited Custom HC (check out his video if you can). On the other hand, he could probably win the world shoot with a .40 spudgun with no sights. That guy can SHOOT.
  7. I'm in Amsterdam, capitol of The Netherlands, Europe. I've been shooting since '98/'99 and have been into the dynamical shooting since 2000. I have received my IPSC license in february this year. I currently shoot revolver division and it's FUN.
  8. Dang, I liked this forum so much because everyone is so polite and helpful over here. Fortunately the people that were nice are still nice. But I seriously hope this board will stay as cool as it is. I (and I think most others here) would not like to see this forum go down in flames, because people are angry with eachother. There's other places to settle those things. This board is all about shooting and people who love to shoot and HELPING eachother in that aspect of life (and other aspects as well). Please keep it cool. I know most people here will, because I met some of the most helpful people here. Shooter Grrl, I think the fact that you placed this in the hate forum shows everyone what this forum is all about. Way to go. Bjorn

Thanks for the support guys. It helps.

    partial media

Bonedaddy, I agree. It's OK to have some way of living that is different than what others do (Heck, that's democracy, right?). But if these people are so convinced that what they do is "the right way", they become a real PITA. They start flying planes into buildings with innocent inside. They kill politicians people like. They tell you it's bad to eat meat. I try to eat no meat (doesn't always work, damn BBQ's ), but I don't go around giving people that eat meat a hard time. I ate meat for a long time and I didn't blame myself then (or now for having done that), so why in the world should I blame other people for not living the way I do? Everyone has the right to live his or her live like he wants to, with the only limit being to not hurt somebody else (unless they hurt you first Now we have seen the whole extreme right thing didn't work out (WWII), and therefore a lot of people think "going the other way" is better, just because it's different from being a nazi. What a bunch of crap. All of these systems failed, because they all tried to hurt people, or as they called it "convincing the others that they are wrong". So I think it's great if you are a hippie, tree-hugger, muslim, christian or whatever. Just let me be who I am, and don't try to convince me that I'm wrong when I ask you not to.
  11. Ok, I'm from a very small European country. A country that deals with a lot of problems that the existing government has done absolutely nothing about. Now a man stands up and tells the people what he thinks is wrong with the existing government. The media and the existing government demonize him, until yesterday some sick freak kills him in front of a television studio. Polls showed that over 25% of the people would have voted for him. The man himself told in several interviews that if anything bad would happen to him he would hold the media and government responsible for that. Now he's dead and 25% of the Dutch had their democracy taken from them by a bunch of idiots (media) that is supposed to INFORM us, not tell us what THEY think is wrong or right. If you want people to know what you think, go be a stand up comedian, or go write a book. Our democracy was killed yesterday, by partial media.

    Respect

I shoot because I like shooting. I also play badminton, because I like to play badminton. Or maybe I play badminton, because of that one time that gigantic shuttlecock chased me around the house . Now that I think of it, I actually shoot IPSC because of my carboard and steel phobia.Man this psychology stuff is DEEP
  13. What are your experiences with these sights? I don't carry my glock and I want to use the sights for IPSC limited or prod. on a G17. Will the mmc work loose, since it's an adjustable and has this weird allen screw locking system? I am looking for a non glare sight picture with a not to bold front sight (.125" max). Which one should I buy?
  14. I think with lead you use the Brinell scale and have a hardness of 15-20 for minimal leading. Sometimes you get a number before the Brinell number and I don't know what that is, but it's usually around 7-9. I have never seen anyone use the rockwell scale on lead, but I might be wrong.
  15. I can't help you because I shoot VV only (it's the only stuff we can get here), but I must say that I also noticed that my N320 loads with 230 grain LRN left some unburnt residue in my gun, which really sucks cause it locks everything up. Does anyone here have a solution for that? Could magnum primers help?
  16. I find it very amusing that, when watching an everyday run of the mill action movie, where the good guy is confronted with a gun totin' bad guy, the gun just clicks when he aims it at the good guy. And then the good guy will say something to p!ss the bad guy off and it will click again (even glocks do this)when he raises it again. I've seen scenes in which this happened up to four times.

    Picking brass

One of the many reasons I now shoot a moonclip revolver most of the time.
  18. Aphex Twin Moby Goldie Albert Collins Muddy Waters Delinquent Habits Cypress Hill Grieg M.O.P. DJ Premier Red Hot Chili Peppers (they suck live though) Nirvana Outkast (old stuff) Goodie Mob Michael Jackson (old stuff)
  19. Hi everyone, Since I would like to shoot 40 S&W instead of 10mm (brass is more readily available), I was thinking about buying the KKM drop in 40 barrel for my 10mm. But I don't really trust "drop in"parts, especially barrels. Does anyone here know how the accuracy is, and the reliability? Any other thoughts or suggestions? Thanks, Bjorn

    Jackass

I don't know about you guys but in Holland MTV started broadcasting jackass and I love it. Just felt like putting it out here. Forgive me... Bjorn
  21. I shoot a lot better when my whole life is in good shape. This just came to mind today (first day i woke up sober LOL). So I'm not going to make a big post out of this. BTW I don,t suggest you should eat ants (see title of the topic) although they are pretty nutricious. Good shooting, Bjorn (Edited by spook at 2:45 am on Oct. 16, 2001)
  22. Hey Chris, Mr. Volquarsen states that it's safe to dryfire the mkII, because it's construction does not allow the firing pin to rach the chamber mouth. Just be sure the firing pin retainer pin is in place.
  23. Thanks you guys, you just made clear to me this shit will never end.
  24. Hey bird, I'm still out there whoopin' ass with my lil' p7m13. Although I must admit I have a love-hate relationship with this tiny gun (wish they accepted hi cap 1911 mags).
  25. The Netherlands support you guys too. I hope all democratic and free countries will help to carry the burden and put and end to these senseless and idiotic acts of violence.
