  1. OK OK, don't laugh too hard. It was a very nasty long course and I shoot revolver, so I had to make 5 reloads. Anyways, the stage had many walls in varying angles that would have you run past targets fast if you wouldn't pay attention (like during a reload ). So I "forgot" one target. 2 mikes and a procedural. Definately sucked.
  2. Yeah, you're right. It is a shame. It would be so cool if everybody could just shoot what they had and if things would still be equal. But I think it is easier to purchase an extra sixshooter, than to go out an buy an "extra" 8-shot revolver. BTW, you can compete with an 8 or 7 shooter, by loading only 6. It is a pain, but it can be done.
  3. Erik, yeah, he was great playing those parts. 3/4, LOL.
  4. Welcome Bjorn, You confuse me. My REAL name is Bjorn, so it's like I read my own post Anyways, welcome. jhgtyre, it is very very new. That's why I put the quotationmarks there
  5. Patrick, I like Gary Oldman after seeing Leon (that guy can play everything) and John Malkovic (same reason)
  6. Patrick, LOL, I am not mad or anything, just afraid that the "good old" 6 round limit will disappear and lead to complete chaos . Sorry if I appeared a little angry. What I like about RevClass is the equality in gear (more or less). And, yes, it's a PITA to do a standing reload. But it's also a nice form of competition. It's just all part of the deal I guess. And to give you a real reaction to your post: I think it cannot be done. You'll never get S&W to do that. BTW, I LOVE 8 round speed shoots with my 625

    Problem

bountyhunter, that´s probably what it was. My smith didn´t know because I took the gun apart before consulting him. Thanks anyway.
  8. Why is everybody so damn difficult about the 6 shot limit? Jeez, maybe we can work out a deal with Wilson to have them secretly make 11 round mags, so you can have an advantage in Lim-10. Listen carefully, the 6 round limit is to stop an equipment race. The end. OK end of rant. Keep the six shot rule. If you want more, shoot another class.

Will you change your forum name to the AustrianStallion?
  10. Hi SJ, welcome to the board. If the python is too heavy, I would go for a non-lugged S&W k-22 or a 4" lugged 617 or something. They're great and very accurate guns. For IPSC, I would go the 625 route, because reloads are faster (ENORMOUS charge holes). Plus, brass isn't a point, you collect all your clips and all your brass after every session. A 610 would be nice if you're all set up for 10mm/.40S&W and don't want to reload .45. Cheers Bjorn

    Problem

Oleg, opened it up, no gunk of any kind. Pried it open with a screwdriver. Called my smith and thank God, he has time to check it out this afternoon. Eventually, I will shoot standard (and if I can't fix my revolver before sunday I will shoot the match in Standard div.), but not for a long time yet:) Thanks, Bjorn

    Problem

OK, Murphy. Say, you have an important match next sunday and a boatload of work to do until then, leaving you barely any time to do some dry firing to prepare for the match. What could make you more happy than to have the hammer fall on the first time you pull the trigger, leaving the hammer LOCKED SOLID in place. I really have no clue what could be wrong. Everything moves, but the hammer. It doesn't pivot and can only be moved by force (screwdriver). It looks like the firing pin doesn't allign with the hole it goes through. Is this a common problem? Does anyone have a clue? Any help is welcome. Thanks. Your concerned forum buddy
  13. Do you mean it's too hard for hard hitting pin loads, but OK for soft recoiling IPSC loads?
  14. Thanks Patrick, you confirmed what I thought.
  15. This is why some people have a stopwatch with them at matches. If you know your average split times at certain distances and use the stopwatch in the walk through, you can calculate what is fastest. Shooting on the move is always "faster" if you can confidently make the shot. Eric Grauffel almost never stops to shoot. He is constantly on the move. This saves major time. Another advantage of shooting on the move, is that you're already moving before you run to your next position. I noticed that starting to run from a complete stand still costs much time.
  16. Can you take off too much material? How should it be done. I have an old "model of 1988" 625 and occasionally have a snagging reload.
  17. It seems a bit redundant over here (outside US, or atleast in Holland). Sometimes it happens, but the RO still has to explain what it is because there are always people who don't know (which is very understandable, as not everyone read gun rags, especially outside the US)
  18. Thanks for that insight Patrick. Now I know where I got that reload with weak hand idea from.
  19. Who around here shoots a revolver? I shoot a 625 in IPSC.
  20. Is an STI more accurate than a Glock? Is my Glock more accurate than yours? There are so many variables involved, that you cannot say: "this kind of gun is more accurate than that kind of gun". It depends roughly on: - tolerances of the gun. - ammo But too many other variables are involved to answer this question with certainty.
  21. The 14th edition states that 9mm is minimum for minor and there's no minimum cal. for major. This is IPSC. I don't know about USPSA. But in IPSC it's no problem (but ask Vince to be sure ). Miculek used a 625 in .45ACP I think. The moonclips are a little faster and their biggest pro is you get all the brass out clean. 9x23 sounds cool, especially if you have a 9x23 open blaster. I shoot a 625 .45ACP and thought of shooting a .45 in limited for convenience in reloading. But where can you get the proper moonclips for 9x23?
  22. Hawker, let us know how you like it!
  23. Hoeppner & Schumann make a very fine holster, the speedsec 5. I believe it is distributed by Frank Garcia in the US. You can look it up under "Gear and Acc" The CR Speed is also very good. I believe the link is http://www.rescomp.co.za These are not cheap, but very good though.
  24. Tommy, I have a 5" and that's because I had a great deal on it. I bought a second 5" as a backup for my first one. If I would have to start over, I think I would have taken the 4". I might cut off some of the underlug of my 5" to reduce the weight. The 5" is heavy. It handels a bit slow because of that. It all depends on what you like. Do you have the opportunity to try both lengths? Whatever lenght you choose, you cannot go wrong with the 625. Happy shooting and God bless
  25. Detlef, shred, really? Great. I always thought he used the technique I discribed. Thank God! I have been experimenting and never figured out how he could reload faster that way than the "traditional" way. I can get my reloads down to maybe a tad under 1.9 now and then on close targets, so I guess I'll have to work on it some more to get his speed (1.4sec reloads are insane) Anyways, I'm starting to ramble. Thanks for the info.
