    Maku mozo!

Another one.... I must know myself, not as I would ideologically like to be, but as I actually am, however ugly or beautiful, however jealous, envious, acquisitive. -Krishnamurti

    Maku mozo!

Me too. This one especially.... Belief is one thing and "what is" is another. Belief is a word, a thought, and this is not the thing, any more than your name is actually you. -Krishnamurti Ther have been several, but this was the most recent.
  3. I'm still here!!! Pm sent
  4. Thanks for your interest!!! By definition it is a permanent modification to the receiver & NOT legal for Prod./SSP. Daniel
  5. Never had a problem with the standard frame Glocks/Win primer/Wolff spring. Only experienced this sort of thing with the large frames(G20,G21). Skeeter is right on about seat depth. Make sure they are below flush & you should be good to go. In the long run, save the trouble & go Federal on your primers. You might get a drop in velocity so chrono asap when you make the change. Daniel
  6. I believe the liteweight frame is the reason Glocks have less perceived recoil. Some say it's the grip angle but in my experience a G21 with a grip reduction recoils exactly the same as one with a full grip. Though the low bore axis doesn't hurt, either Daniel
  7. Great match! When you consider that this was the first LA state match & the crew was inexperienced at putting on a big match......things went very, very well. I liked the straight forward no hocus-pocus stages as well. As for my experience...... No PE's No HTN's Only 37 pts down 2nd SSP/MM .........and got bumped to SSP/SS Even though shooting in the same squad as Matt Sims (1st CDP/MA 2nd best score behind Jerry M) & Scott Randolph ( 2nd CDP/MA ) made me feel really, really slow! 8. I highly recommend Wolff springs. The reduced striker/extra power trigger spring will take roughly 1 1/4lb off your trigger pull. With this caveat, the large frame glocks( 20,21 etc.) can be quite choosie about primers with this striker spring. The rest ( 17,19, etc.) will still light off just about anything in my experience. Hope this helps. Daniel
  9. 1. Classify Expert in ESP 2. Make LA, AL & Southern Regional matches 3. Make the Nationals 4. Get my "Glocksmithing" business off the ground ( with the help of a couple of Master Class shooters) 5. Lose 20 pounds! 6. Have a lot of fun!!!
  10. If the pistol will be carry AND competition I would still set it up as to be strictly a carry gun. As if competition wouldn't be a factor. Heinie Slant-pro's Race-Cut from Custom-Glock Racing (Simply the best, my g19 has the same basic sight picture as my g34) 3.5 connector (Ghost Rocket 3.5 fitted for reduced over-travel, but stock will work just fine) Not a big believer in aftermarket "titanium/lightened" this & that even for competition. Ghost is the only non-stock part I will use(other than springs) when putting a 2.5 trigger on a Glock. A Glock just doesn't need much. JMHO Daniel Tripp

I'm with scooterj. The Heinie/Dawson combo is tough to beat Daniel
  12. Ready Tactical by Chris Stewart www.pistolpacking.com I've a Belt-Slide for my G17 & a paddle for my G23. No complaints at all. Daniel
  13. Ready Tactical by Chris Stewart. Holsters are similiar to Ky-Tac (without the wait ). His mag carriers are second to none for speed yet still very secure. Available from www.pistolpacking.com Daniel
  14. Ditto EricW---Kimber & glock are the way to go. I love a good 1911, but I have to admit they will test your patience. I'm a recent Glock convert after years of Colt's & S&W's that choke & vomit at the worst times. In short, if you must have a 1911, go Kimber ( Custom II ) if you are trully on a budget ( Believe me I understand BUDGET ) go with a Glock 17 ( used or new ). You won't regret it!!! SPDan
  15. Ordered a Sooper Hooper II & three mag pouches back in Nov, same thing. Even left two messages on his answering machine, still nothing. I've since went with another brand & may send kytac stuff back for a refund.......whenever it arrives. If there's some type of problem not of his making I'm cool with that, but just not responding? Daniel
  16. With Alabama being an issue state, most all of the stages that I've shot required concealment. I shoot the standard stages with concealment anyway because I've practiced my draw & reloads from it so much. Several of the shooters in this area really carry what they compete with so there's a real "defense/tactical" sense to most all the scenarios. TL's right, you don't have to use some expensive "LOOK AT ME" vest. A simple windbreaker or flannel shirt does just fine. Daniel
  17. warpspeed, Went with the 19# just for reliability sake but will probably try the 17# in the near future. Also going to try going lighter on the recoil spr as well. Thanks again, Daniel
  18. Wow! Sight tracking is 100% better. Even more notciable than with the 9mm. Tried with & without the buff. Really couldn't tell much of a difference. 12lb recoil spr with 19lb main spr was the ticket. Thanks to BE, the moderators & all contributors for the FAQ. Daniel
  19. First a comment then a question. My whole understanding on recoil springs has been transformed due to this forum & some fellow competitors. I was stuck in the dark ages( & some gun rags) on this whole heavy/light spring thing. After reading the "FAQ's" I put a 8lb Wolff spring in my 5906( factory is 14lb ). Yikes! What a difference! Granted a 40oz 9mm doesn't exactly punish you, but the sight tracking was dramatically better. My question is, will I see that same kind of difference with my Kimber 5-inch or less so. Judging by most posts a 12lb spring with 200gr major loads seem to be the ticket. Thanks. Daniel
  20. Looking to improve my 5906 SA trigger. Would this this be an option or would I just be better off sending it to Novak or the PC. It had a pretty decent DA pull that I was able to improve with a 16lb hammer spring. Just looking at my options. Thanks.......... Daniel
  21. tightloop, Started with a Colt Commander in CDP myself. It's still my carry gun. The balance of 4-inch gun just seems quicker shot to shot also. But you're right the short sight radius at the longer ranges can be a bear. Handywipes!!!! I knew i had been forgeting something. Daniel IDPA A14119 USPSA A50422
  22. My choice for USPSA/Production & IDPA/SSP.....FWIW S&W 5906 w/Novak's (rear dots blacked out/front orange) Ky-tac holster Ky-tac mag carriers Safariland belt 5 mags Wilson range bag & muffs I love the Smith for 3 reasons. 1. All stainless---no recoil/with a solid grip & a Wilson spring kit 2. Quick trigger reset 3. 4 inch gun a little quicker from holster ( OK, pretty subjective ) To each his own.
