  1. You may ship ammo to the range. Universal Shooting Academy Your Name / US IPSC Nationals 4330 Hwy 630 East Frostproof, FL 33843
  2. It's on like Donkey Kong!!! November 1-3, 2013 hosted as always at Universal Shooting Academy. I have a few items on the website, registration will open towards the end of July. I just learned that the Tough Mudder which is a large adventure type race is the same weekend just down the road from our range. So if you need a hotel I would suggest booking sooner rather than later. More updates to come but the match will be awesome as always. Don't forget about the costume contest!! TheMonsterMatch.net
  3. It is on the range after shooting on Sunday. It is informal. Lunch is catered on the range but I doubt food is planned for after shooting, so you may want to pack a snack.
  4. Universal Ammo will be providing Official Match Ammunition for the US IPSC Nationals. Pricing and ordering information just posted to the match website. http://www.universalshootingacademy.com/matches/us-ipsc-nationals/match-ammunition/
  5. Did a few updates to the webpage today. Added some sponsors that have come on board and put up the shirts for pre-sale. Check this link for ordering.
  6. Shot like crap AND went minor so not as good of a finish as I would like to have had. However it was one of the funnest matches I have shot. My buddies on the squad and the rest of the squad mates who became buddies had a great time. We enjoyed being the comedy of errors for the RO's and spectators. Two great quotes from our group: "No, I shot at it....I'm actually that bad!" (after an RO was trying to give an FTE to a squad mate on a wide open 12 yard target. He did shoot at it as we all attested and he was "that bad" ) "This revolver stuff is fun, I think I'm going to switch to revo full time.....said no one ever!" (from yours truly) Thanks to all the staff and RO's that made it happen, I'll for sure shoot it again if they put it on.
  7. Steven, The Pre-Match is for staff and sponsors and a select few "regular" competitors to shoot the match. It is the normal match on the same stages and is shot for score. Just like an "RO" or "Staff" day at a USPSA match. IPSC just calles it the Pre-Match. If you're in the "Main Match" you will shoot on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Awards and shoot-offs on Sunday. Shannon
  8. Not really a joke as some weird insurance regulation requires that we charge something! Not sure how or why it works that way, just doing what they say. I'll cover your admission if you'd like to watch.
  9. Thanks. We're good on how to ship. I was more worried about a city, state or municipality that had laws against shipping ammunition to their area. Any thoughts on that?
  10. Searching through government sites is driving me crazy. Does anyone have a resource covering ammo shipping to various places. Does it matter if it's private or commercial? Are there places you cannot ship ammo to? Who is at fault, receiver or shipper? Questions like that? Thought I'd be lazy and try the Enoverse. Thanks!

  13. Huge thanks to Dan, Dave, Charles, Larry and their wives for helping to produce another successful IDPA State Championship. Also big thanks to the Wyoming Antelope Club, they are always a big supporter of the action shooting sports at their facility. It was fun to shoot and work the match with them. I only shoot 2 or 3 IDPA matches each year at any level and this one is always the best. I was working and shooting on staff day so I didn't get much footage but here are some of the runs from our squad.
  14. It was brought to my attention Front Sight published the wrong dates for the match. They posted some September dates. Those are not correct. Correct dates are those posted here, on the match website, and in the match advertisement in Front Sight.

  16. If you were not present at the awards ceremony and/or did not have anyone pick up for you. If you won a gun you will receive an email tomorrow. If you won cash your plaque and money will go out Monday.
  17. I'd have to pull the matrix to get it exactly right but basically every Division, Class and Category winner got a gun. Including Law, Mil, and International. 2nd's through 5th's got cash depending on participation.
  18. I'd like to thank everyone for their support of the Florida Open and Universal Shooting Academy. We appreciate all the shooters, sponsors, staff, vendors and spectators that came out this year for the 15th Annual FL Open. Personally I welcome all comments good and bad about the match, stages, staff, whatever. My job here is to run matches and the only way I get better is to take in all the info, analyze, and make changes. As to the difficulty of the match, that's our signature. This is a championship caliber match with championship caliber competitors put on by champion shooters. If you come to the FL Open, I promise you will be challenged. That said I thought this year was a bit more reasonable. Good mix of speed stages and accuracy stages. Big round counts is also a signature, while not necessarily my personal favorite it is a crowd pleaser and not likely to change. I didn't feel the swingers were unreasonable or gimicky. With the exception of the upper one on stage two, that was a bitch. I took 3 aimed shots and missed them all. In fact I had a class Monday and we shot the hell out of it.....I still never hit it twice with only two shots. However that target was about one half of one percent of the match points so I doubt it cost anyone the match. Plus there were many, many folks that hit it. Yeah, the rest of the swingers had no shoots on them, we thought it would be interesting to have folks aim at moving targets rather than hose at them. I think it worked out well. We gave away 70 guns, about 3K in cash (not positive on that amount), plus a ton of plaques. Hope everyone had a good match and we hope to see you back next year!!
  19. My pleasure, thanks for supporting the match. Match is properly listed with USPSA now under major matches for future scoring updates.
  20. Brazos, Speed Shooters, Doctor USA, Red Dot, Universal Pro Shop all are set up as vendors. Match rolling good this morning. Couple scoresheets weren't inputted yesterday, they will be in the next update.
  21. Kinda what I was thinking. Always count on Enoverse to reassure or answer!! Thanks.
