  1. Hi folks, The official application for NON IROA officials is now posted on USA's webpage. If you are NROI or non-certified and interested in working WSXVII I have to have one of these applications from you. If you have previously contacted me in person, email, pigeon....whatever it doesn't matter. I need this app filled out and emailed to me. Also as you may know the US IPSC Nationals is immediately following the World Shoot on the same stages. We will be needing staff for this match as well but for those of you who cannot get a slot to the WS, this would at least be an opportunity to get on the same stages in the same time frame as the WS contenders. Who knows....maybe someone could even produce combined results after just for grins! http://www.universalshootingacademy.com/matches/2014-world-shoot/
  2. Universal Shooting Academy on the second Sunday. 6 stages of USPSA plus 8 stages of Steel Challenge if you'd like to shoot both. UniversalShootingAcademy.com
  3. I hope to make this an annual event. The test event went great, should be 5 or 10 times as big next year.
  4. The 16th annual Florida Open is right around the corner. One of the biggest matches of the year not to mention it's in Florida while the rest of the country is freezing. Great international flair and on the same range as this years World Shoot. We expect over 400 shooters total and there are still plenty of spots left. 11 stages 300+/- rounds Registration is open on MatchSignUp.org More information including stages (soon) can be found at UniversalShootingAcademy.com Hope you can make the match!
  5. This first major of the year is fast approaching. Still room to sign up via Match Sign Up! Match is Jan 17-19, 2014 at Universal Shooting Academy. 10 stages 250+/- rounds. Stages will be posted soon on UniversalShootingAcademy.com Registration open on MatchSignUp.net Come out of the arctic and enjoy a match in great weather!
  6. We have tons down this way Rocky. Plus Tampa is one of the great cigar areas in the country. I have thought about working with them as well. I'll get some pics for you.
  7. If you're a facebooker check out Universal's page. We just had the inaugural CrossFit Shooting Invitational and it came out pretty cool. CF's media team was there and I'm sure they will put a good package together. I have some photos up and will put a video together soon. We got a little hammered with the weather...it was like a damn July thunderstorm in the afternoon. But that just made the workouts suck worse! More info to follow. https://www.facebook.com/UniversalShootingAcademy
  8. Trying to decide between short rifle with red dot or mid length with 1-4 in TacOps? Anyone have any insight on the stages to help with the decision? I know they said out to 320 but not very many shots.... Thoughts?
  9. Lotta if's coming at you. IF you are a semi experienced CrossFitter and IF you are a semi experienced Shooter and IF you can be in central Florida on November 16 (just over a week from now) and IF you are interested in being part of a cool inaugural event Call me soon! 813.732.5249 ~shannon Sorry, can't say more.
  10. Evil evil man. Stage fours diagram seems like it is missing something, it mentions a port 4, and a door 3. Does that mean that the stomp pad opens port 4 and closes port 3? Correct
  11. Boom! You like updates......howd you like them updates?!? TheMonsterMatch.net Hmm....I have two treadmills in the bed of my pickemup truck. Wonder why that is? I predict epic as always.....still room for sign up and likely a few walk ups.
  12. My bad. We are changing away from the Google payment system so it delayed me a bit. Registration will be open by the end of this month.
  13. Stages should post on Monday as well as schedule, timeline, and whatnot. Still room to sign up.
  14. We will have shirts available on site. Because Google is going away with their payment system and the ability to have the club store we are looking for other options. Maybe the site isn't totally clear. The scoring system is USPSA. It is a recognized match, only not sanctioned due to the round count violation. We recognize all USPSA Divisions and categories with awards. We have a special prize for Open, Limited, and Production. Something like that.
  15. Yeah, kinda sucky situation. Data entry error on one stage resulted in a crazy hit factor causing stage points to change by a large margin. Coupled with the fact it was a stage Dave didn't do the greatest on it shuffled the results in Standard. No one noticed until late last night and it was brought my attention early this morning. Since the shoot off hadn't started we (RM & MD) ruled the error should be corrected. No one wants to win what they didn't earn and Dave was a champion about it as is to be expected. So was Nils. Brings up an interesting topic on when the match is really "over" with todays technology. Scores were posted online and at the range, but no one caught it. I've added it to the list of things I will improve upon as a Match Director. I never really look at the scores when I'm running a match. Obviously I don't really care who wins. But maybe looking over the results I would have noticed an unachievable time on a given stage. Maybe not....but I will at least try to analyze them from now on. Other than that, the match ran very well. Great weather which is always nice. Thanks to the staff for working hard and thanks to the shooters for coming out. We will be ready for the World Shoot, already working on it!!!
  16. Hello Shooters!! Well we are just a few days away from kicking off an awesome championship. We have over 360 currently registered not counting 50 or 60 staff who will be competing for score. So we will be over 400 I think for sure...bigger than last year! SQUADDING Check the squad list on MatchSignUp to see where you shoot. I made a few consolidations but didn't break up any groups or change schedules. I will be locking down the squadding system tonight so if you want to move yourself, do so today. You can find the squad schedule on the webpage. MATCH BOOK In the interest of saving some trees the match book is virtual this year. You will find it on the home page of the match website. We will not be handing out match books at the range so please take note of the schedule and/or print if for yourself if you need to. Same for the stages, they will be posted at each stage but if you like to have your own copy to look through please print them. You will find them on the website as well. There were a few slight last minute changes to some of the stages so if you have previously printed a posted copy you may want to reprint. As always the RO walkthrough brief is the final authority on the procedure. SCHEDULE You will find the schedule in the match book as well as on the scheduling page of the website. Please be at your assigned stage at your assigned start time. RENTAL BAYS We have 3 bays available for rental so you may practice. $100 per hour with up to 4 people per bay. These bays will be available Monday the 7th through Saturday the 12th. Paper and steel targets provided. We will have some ammunition available for purchase should it be needed. Please contact Manny Bragg directly to schedule a practice bay. MannyBraggUSA@Yahoo.com SPONSORS Please take note of the sponsors in the match book and on the web page. Also please take time to thank them for supporting the sport and consider them for your next purchase. UPDATES There are plenty of ways to stay up to date on current match information.
