  1. Oh man... now I'm pretty tempted by the TTI. I kind of like the idea of buying the sevigny rear sight and switching out front iron sights, FOs, and night sights. That sounds so modular. This is my only glock. On the other hand those TTIs do look really accurate and tight. I wish I could just try them all out!
  2. Huh.. I've never heard of those TTIs before. I'm not really looking for fiber optic sights, but it is interesting how the fiber tip is on the top of the sight. The front sight looks about the right width but the rear is pretty narrow for ideal sight width. They do look pretty bada**. I was thinking of getting a front rear combo of iron sights where the black iron front is easily switched out with a narrow fiber optic front.
  3. Hey guys... I'm shopping for a front rear sight combo for my G17 gen 3. I've been reading about ideal sight widths and I see that many of you like dawson and sevigny sites. I'm not shooting competition, just paper and steel plates. I'm interested in accuracy slightly above speed. And I'm on a serious tight budget. The glock sights are way too wide and chunky for me. Does this look like a sensible sight combo for me to buy? 4. Which airsoft would be best to train with for my Springfield 1911 Loaded? Something Single Stack, right?
  5. take out the ambi safety and see if the noise goes away.. then you can get new safety and have it fit in. I'm not exactly sure what you meant, but I'm referring to the grip safety. I already did remove the Left Handed safety... maybe I should put it back in?
  6. Why is the wide grip safety so noisy on 1911s? If I shake my SA 1911 Loaded, you can hear the safety rattling about. If I touch it in a glancing way it makes a lot of noise. I'm a target shooter more than a self defense guy, but it just seems weird to me. Is there a way to modify this?
  7. I always wonder exactly what people mean about that. If I've got my strong hand up as high on the gun as I can go, it's not like my trigger finger is going to be perfectly in line with the barrel. My trigger finger is, in fact, pointing a few degrees down. As a sidenote from my 1911, you should see how far down I have to reach on my Redhawk! What is Jerry Miculek talking about when he says Square Trigger Finger pulled Straight Back? So how can I "pull it straight to the rear"? Maybe I'm being nitpicky here, but hey, grips and trigger control are just nitpicky sons o' guns. And back to the original topic, is it bad to exert strong grip with my SH Middle Finger?
  8. I'm talkin about the Two Hand hold... where the underside of the trigger guard meets your Weak Hand Index Finger.
  9. Hey, not all of us can afford a trigger job at the moment. My SA Loaded has a pretty stiff trigger, and all that pressure makes me milk my grip (Low Left SHots). I've noticed that if I grip hard with my SH Middle Finger and keep everything else pretty relaxed, it helps me to not milk. Is this a decent way to overcome milking a tougher trigger?
  10. Exactly Where on your WH index finger do you rest the trigger guard? I'm shooting a 1911 and I've noticed that the sights align well for me if I rest the bottom of the trigger guard on the middle joint of my WH index finger. Or maybe a little to the left of that (I'm right handed). It seems to me that this is an ideal point to adjust the horizontal positioning of the sites. What are the pros and cons here as you guys see it? Thanks... total newb here btw....
  11. I've got a stock SA Loaded 1911 with some very sharp edges. When I'm riding the safety with my strong hand thumb, the back edge of the safety is painful. When I fire, the it bites and makes me flinch. Also of less importance, the edges on the trigger are on the sharp side (painful after 50 shots), and the slide serrations are rather razorish. Would some grip tape work? Can I file or sand down the edges? Any advice on that? Any other ideas, short of buying a new safety? This is my first post, BTW... very nice discussions here!
