Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. My 9mm Match Elite has the exact same burr in the exact same place. I have about 10K rounds thru mine without any issues whatsoever.
  2. I mailed 3 of the "nose-dive" mags in last week with a note asking for replacements. Today, I received 3 of the new Mec-gar 9mm mags in the mail from EAA. Maybe their customer service is actually in the business of serving customers these days???
  3. Did you call them first, or did you just send them in?
  4. I have a 9mm Match Elite. The last trip to the range, the slide stopped locking back after the last round in the magazine. It is doing it with all my magazines. Any ideas?
  5. I have shot factory loads and TONS of reloads (Dillon SDB) without any issues at all with the new mags. The witness Match is now, quite possibly....the perfect gun!
  6. ...just an update from my post a few above this one. I have ran 25 full loads (17 rds) thru each of the 3 new, improved, 9mm mags without a hitch. Ill consider the nosedive issue officially fixed with the new mags.
  7. I just got back from the range with the new 9mm mags. I ran about 200 rds thru my Witness match with NO NOSEDIVE issues whatsoever. I had everyhing apart for cleaning so I thought I would post a pic of the change to the new mags. The spacer is now on the back instead of the front. I was able to get 17 rds in the new mags, though I had to use a "thumbsaver" to do so. I could not get the last two rds in by hand. The gun did cycle fine with the 17ds.
  8. This guy makes them for the Witness. I have one from him for a Witness Match. You won't be disappointed with these. http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/IWB/tabid/56/CategoryID/1/List/0/Level/1/ProductID/1/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName,ProductName
  9. I bought some +10% wolf magazine springs for my 9mm match elite. It solved my "nose dive" issues. The mags still dont like to be loaded full, but now they work with 15 rounds in them rather than just 9 or 10 as before.
  10. I have an Elite Match in 9mm. It is my main carry gun and I would trust my life to it. It shoots like a dream and I practice with it a lot. I have had it a year and have put about 6000 rounds thru it. The finish is really starting to wear off on the slide groove. I have been using CLP for lubrication, but apparantly due to the extremely tight fit of the slide, it is not enough. I recently bought some slide glide and it seems to do a much better job. My question is about touching up the black finish on the slide. What can I use. Any ideas?
  11. It is not something I would shoot a lot of. I shoot my Witness quite a bit and have become VERY comfortable with it. Because of that, it has become my carry gun. It just makes sense to me to carry the gun that I shoot the most and am the most comfortable with. If the day ever arrives when I need to draw to protect my family (...and i hope that day NEVER comes!), I want to know that that I have the right collection of variables in my favor: Good gun, good training, and good bullets. I have the good gun! The Witness has proved to be an incredible firearm. Accuracy and ergonomics are second to none. It is a bit heavy, but Im 6'4" and 280 pounds...so heavy is a relative term! I have taken several defense pistol classes and I go to the range at least once a week. My good ole' Dillon press churns out at least 350 bullets a week for me to shoot. I just want to carry the best bullets too and the Federal 9BPLE has a great record! I would only shoot a few to make sure they work out of my gun, and to make sure I can comfortably, and confidently hit what Im shooting at. My gun would not get a steady diet of them.
  12. According to what I have found online, it runs 38,500 PSI.
  13. Has anyone shot +P+ rounds in Witness pistols? I know the manual says not to, but I got some 98BPLE Federal 115g +P+ 9mm rounds that I would like to carry in my Witness. They are not something I would shoot often, but these are supposed to be really good rounds for self defense. I carry a full-steel witness.
