Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Whoops, as notified I talked to Saul and Eli from DAA last weekend at the IWA-show in Nurnberg. Well - just one comparable case known so far. So they ask you to contact them Eli@doublealpha.biz or info@doublealpha.biz (which is Saul) Regards Wolfgang
  2. Hi, I would recommend you to contact Eli H. from DAA directly eli@doublealpha.biz He's the right one for a clear answer to your problem. Regards Wolfgang
  3. Whoops, first of all: it was for sure not my intention to offend you and/or your line of actions... I just wanted to express my astonishment about some of the points you made, which brought me to some of my guesses.. Well - as I mentioned in one of my remarks: as I will meet Saul this weekend I will discuss that bad cases with him (as none of that ever occured over here) and see what he has to say.... And last but not least to your information: - No I am not dealing with that stuff and no I have no job-related correlation to the producer. - But: I work amongst others with an Fed.Institute for Material Testing and last autumn we contacted more than 500 shooters in our area with a questionayr-form regarding to their shooting-equipment in detail (such as what guns, what mags, what optics, what mounts..., occurring problems a.s.o.). The analysis of that forms arised amongst other issues what I quoted in my remark: more than 90 (exact quote: 93) of them use the 3-in-1-mount and stated no problems with that stuff at all (no cracks, no loosing parts, no negative remarks according to functionality, execution of construction-work a.s.o.). Regards Wolfgang
  4. I would always like to see both sides of the fence. But sometimes when an expectedly well-made item goes awry, one cant help but be dismayed Most notably when theres no more time to go the route of the customer service. Theres always a reason for some things to be expensive, being well-made is one, but unreliability is not. And its PIA to the paying customer no matter how good the CS. Basically I am with you. What made me wondering, was a) changing an important part just before a match without time for improvement, and even afterwards not to try to talk to the dealer and/or producer about the occured problem... And you are right: high-tech and expensive stuff can be anticipated working perfect - but: when there are problems (and as long as I can think even in high-end stuff things happens) man should give the dealer/producer the chance to come forward with a solution... By the way: in my area there are about 90 or more of that 3-in-1-mounts in service (mostly bought within the last 12 months) and no problems are reported from the shooters at all... Just my 2 cents... Regards Wolfgang
  5. So.....you made an important change on your gun just right before a match, got into troubles with that part, gave us your details about what seems to have had happened...and now what is the conclusion? As you prefer not to contact the dealer and/or Saul at DAA we just can guess: Only a single "bad made" part? Or did you "Dremel" on that part by yourself to early? Assembly-mistake? Could it be that you have forgotten to put in the spring before the ball in the assembly-process? A.s.o. As counterexample to your case I can tell you, that I have mounted in the last six months three of that 3-in-1-mounts on my guns - not problems at all, no imprecise parts or bad finish or so.... But as interested in that stuff I will take your experience to Saul, whom I will meet this weekend at the IWA-Show over here in Europe. Will see what he might have to say to your case. Regards Woilfgang
  6. Hi Dave! Over here in Europe we are common in shooting 9mm Major. As an example for typical setup here is to use a Trubor Hybrid-barrel 4,15" with Thunderstorm-Comp. With e.g. 9,0 grn SP2-powder (or 8,6 grn VV3N37), 124grn FMJRN bullet easy gives a "good" major factor! Aslo that setup shoots very flat and has a smooth recoil. Regards Wolfgang
  7. Here is another picture from the left side.. @ surfmaster: yes - to our experience three screws are enough - we use Loctite Blue to fix; no problems at all - never come loose (equal on a Steelmaster in 9x19 Major or a "bigger" gun...)
  8. Here is another picture from the left side..
  9. I shoot it since several weeks on my STI Steelmaster - much more comfortabel than the original STI-mount; and the combination of the adjustable thumb-rest with the sidewing, which folds under the optic is genious! Also the mount is a little bit more flat over the slide than the STI-model Regards
  10. Hi Rauls, according to your powder-measure-problem: just have a look at eGun - they offer several types of machine-made knobs that fits over the original measure-screw and solve (fummling) adjusting-problems; I tried them and all of them worked well..) Wolfgang
