  1. After my first shot at a match the other day my SO stepped behind me to get away from the blast. If I could have I'd have gotten behind me, too.
  2. Has anyone used the Kineti-Tech Sound Redirecting Muzzle Brake? I'm interested in how much difference the sound redirector makes. It seems to me that it would negate some (if not all) of the effect of the brake. I read this article (excuse the misspelling of "brake" in the link, I just copied and pasted) but he doesn't really quantify how much the redirector affects the brake's effectiveness. I recently added a brake to my AR and was not prepared for either how much it reduced recoil nor how LOUD it would be! :-) https://www.gunsamerica.com/blog/kineti-tech-muzzle-break/
  3. So, you're Tactical Joe? http://thefirearmreport.com/2013/10/an-urban-operators-first-idpa-match-part-1/
  4. If you are behind cover to shoot, you're behind cover to reload. No need to retreat from a covered shooting position to reload. .
  5. If it's acknowledged to be a game, why would gaming be frowned upon? Can't have it both ways.
  6. After my grandfather had to cut a treble hook out of my lip with a dull knife I determined to never again carry a dull one.

  8. How would you have the hand watcher communicate the start and finish of a reload so the one watching the feet will know?

Good idea to have an extractor and spring on hand just in case.

Just read the Toilet Paper thread and it reminded me of this video. http://lifehacker.com/5838738/how-to-eliminate-poop-splash-with-toilet-paper
  11. I think using the squib rod would be a little scary.
  12. Probably should go in match screw ups. Sorry.
  13. Those who accept it gracefully are a pleasure to shoot with. The others, tell them not to let the gate hit them on the way out.
  14. Thanks for the reminder that "pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall." Proverbs 16:18 Wishing you a speedy recovery.
  15. The last IDPA match gave me the opportunity to understand that a correctly functioning extractor is more than a luxury, it's a necessity. I told my squad I had set it up that way on purpose to practice my malfunction drills but it was pretty frustrating and my 400+ time reflected it. Thanks to CZ Custom for super quick delivery of a new extractor, spring and pin to get me back on target (well, at least back shooting).
  16. You can't have a Kit Kat, you'd get chocolate fingerprints on your clip.
  17. Just one of my pet peeves (everybody should have a pet, dontcha think?) Brake: Break:
