  1. I think we should have a shootoff after every match!! That was a blast! Thanks to everyone for all the hard work put in this season and we will see everyone in 2013!
  2. Good lookin out Louis! Moved me from 16th to 4th. Haha. Thanks to everyone that made this match possible!
  3. Sdc. Short dust cover. Thanks for link! And yeah I broke another one. I had 3 people offer up their pistols so I shot Steve's the rest of the day.
  4. First let me say that I'm not a gun smith and am fairly new to 2011 pistols coming from a glock. Recently I purchased a used 5" sdc sti framed limited gun. I got a good deal on the gun and had it in a week, but am now regretting not ordering one paying more and waiting for it to be built correctly. About 500 rds after receiving the gun it broke the barrel link. Upon disassembly and closer inspection we found out that the bottom hole in the link was "ovaled" enough you could see it with your naked eye when you held the 2 broken pieces together. It had a #3 link in it. When we put the gun back together with a new #3 link it "locked up" too tight. It took a significant amount of pressure to get the gun to unlock. Which made sense that the old link was "ovaled". We did a little research on the topic and put the pistol back together with a #2 link in it. It cycled like butter and seemed to lock up correctly. However, 250-300 rds later (and 3 rds into a multigun match) it broke this link. This one also broke at the bottom hole. I'm stumped now. What's wrong with this gun? I'm close to sending it out to a big name shop and having them fix it but figured I'd the this a try first. Thanks in advance for any and all advice.
  5. The scores were broke down by division if you clicked on the "series points" or series standings or series something. All I know is the link was on the top left corner of the page.
  6. I dont think I'd run one even in open. Why hang an extra pound off the front end of an already heavy gun? Just so it can get caught on ports?
  7. Pretty simple. Looking for a load to move to limited with a g35. Stock barrel probably plated bullet. Looking for something that shoots pretty flat and dead reliable. Thanks!
  8. While I agree somewhat with the "you get what you pay for" philosophy, there is another side to this train of mind. Annd that thought costs about $500 less. Bushnell's history tells us they make a decent product. Maybe it's worth a try?? I mean no, it's never going to be an aimpoint, but who knows till they try?? Maybe it's decent?? I don't know, it's just a thought
  9. considering these condtions an AR type design really might not be a good idea. Unless he has really GOT to have a .204 maybe he should consider an SKS or an AK. they handle the dirt and mistreatment much better. yankee Dog Eh, he's got 3 sks's, a mini 14 etc etc. He's pretty well dead set on a 204......
  10. First off I'd like to say hi to everyone, just got reccommended to this sight and the information is overwhelming! I'm somewhat new to AR's (DPMS and S&W, both mostly stock) in general and am finding this sight extremely helpful. Anyway, to the point. My dad recently asked me about the Remington R 15, a rifle I'm unfortunately unfamiliar with. Long story short he read an article that suggested that they chamber the R 15 in .204. The man has a slight (read major) obsession with this caliber. While it's a fun, flat shooting, low recoiling, coyote dispatching son of a gun I find the .223 MUCH CHEAPER TO SHOOT! I know I'm not going to convince him of buying a .223 so that arguement is absolutely out of the question. Upon further investigation, I found that DPMS offers an AR framed rifle in .204 as well. Does anyone else that you know of make an ar framed .204? If so which one do I steer him toward? I love my dpms, but is the remington better? Is there another one out there that blows both of them away? Cost is an issue though not a big one. This gun is probably going to spend its life in a tractor, a combine or behind the seat of a truck with the sole duty of dispatching varmits. For that reason I don't think a $3000 custom is in order if you know what I mean. It will probably end up with a variable power scope of some sort as his eyes aren't as good as in years past. It won't get cleaned often enough and will get dirty, but it will have to get the job done or he will pawn it off on me (fake frown). Anyway, let me know what you guys think! By the way the DPMS i built on their website and the remington were priced almost exactly the same.
