  1. Fomeister, thanks, I'm trying to get up with DMAC to look at his JP & Noveske. A decision on this is imminent though.
  2. Fomeister, do I need to order the SOPMOD complete kit or just the buttstock to go on the Firebird...thx, Kirby Kirby, I will check on Monday to see if the tube is milspec, if so then you just need the stock. If Jim is still lurking around here, maybe he can tell us if it is milspec or commercial. I'll call you Mon am...thx, Kirb

  4. Noveske and JP will run $1000 more...I'm trying to end up around $2500 or so including the TR-24. Regards, Kirby
  5. I concur that service after the sale is important. I want the one least likely to NEED the service dept...least likely to go tits up in the middle of a carbine school. Regards, Kirby
  6. How many rounds through it? Would you buy another one? Thanks, Kirby
  7. will be used primarily for carbine school and matches, mostly close in stuff. I will add the SOPMOD stock to the Firebird or STI, so the price will work out pretty close for all of them. Trijicon TR-24 will ride on top. Some of you AR wizards please chime in with your preference. Which one should a man buy? Thanks, Kirby
  8. Rem 1100 with a Soft-Touch conversion from Shooters Emporium will be very gentle on your bad shoulder. I have run 100 straight registered handicap with this combination... Regards, Kirby
  9. Benny, I'll pray for the Lord to make His grace sufficient for you during this difficult time...Kirby
  10. I knew you were gonna like it..."Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's 9mm Commander"
  11. I predict you will enjoy that thing immensely
  12. Rich, would 30LPI be possible on a Trojan, or would it look like socks on a rooster...thanks, Kirby
  13. A buddy of mine split the frame on his with 1000 rounds of hardball...but the conventional wisdom from the 70's was they were good for about 5000. Let us know when yours splits not going to happen I have a .38 Super Lightweight that has 2200 rounds thru it. But I use 135 power factor shells in it, not 190...no cracking so far. It is fun to shoot :

  15. My definition of a good insurance agent is the one that will genuinely help you when you have a claim. Then there is no need for me to talk with him...Kirby-NCDOI
  16. Colt lightweight Commander in .38 Super...
  17. Hmm...pitch dark, feet tangled in the jumper cables...the Old Serpent had you exactly where he wanted you. Glad he didn't sink those fangs in you Work on that draw so you can smoke him next time with your sidearm ( and what's a revo guy doing carrying a G17 anyway?)
  18. Duane, I am glad to report your counsel to watch the sights, along with my determination to hold the gun on the target has resulted in a breakthrough. In firing 350 shells I only had 1 that I pushed to the left, and I saw and recognized it immediately. I am greatly encouraged by this. Thanks for your help. Regards, Kirby
  19. Chuck at Shooters Connection handled my order for a long slide Trojan...a very good buying experience. Hope this helps, Kirby
  20. "...that trigger control is born of a desire to hold the sight on target." This jumped off the page at me. I thought I had that desire. But after some soul searching and reflecting upon it I can't really say that I have had such a desire. I WILL have it before my next trip to the range, or I won't go...comments and opinions, suggestions etc. are welcome. Thanks, Kirby
  21. So to get it as low as possible, it looks like I'll need professional help. My wife said I need that already...Thanks, Kirby
  22. Doug, who makes the lowest, neatest mount to put a C-more on a 22/45? Thanks, Kirby
  23. If all of the bullet lodged in the bore it was a squib and wasn't the fault of the bullet (and I dislike plated bullets). Is the ring a complete circle? As far as safety, it depends on where the ring is....and if it's far enough forward the gun may not cycle properly due to the bushing catching on the raised part of the barrel (sometimes happens, sometimes doesn't). You're probably going to need a new barrel anyway as they almost never shoot accurately after getting ringed. R, G-Man, I can't keep it on a 6" paper plate at 25yds now...Kirby
