I've been using WW231 since the Civil War - never tried anything else - WW231 is pretty good -
possible that something is better - when I run out of my 1989 supply, I'll try something else.
Well you have me beat I've only been using it since WW1...Kirb

I found that the irons are too low and I can't get down on the comb enough to make them useful. My Holosun 510c is mounted to the rail with no riser and is perfect for me.
If I want to shoot irons I've made an adjustment and it works perfect. Only difference is I changed the sights since this picture.

BigDawg how do you like the Tandemcross comp you're running on the Ruger? Thx Kirb

Drop is low and sight mount too high for a lot of people. You can get a Taccom mount that goes where the front sight is and that will help.

Also, low riding optics like a Vortex Venom help. Others will weigh in.
Alas, the Taccom does not fit the new tactical forend Model. Since the tactical model forend will out sell the clunky original by at least 5 to 1, perhaps Tim and his boys will design one for the Tactical version...hint hint. Kirb

YouTube video says bolt locks back on empty...

Does it have last round bolt hold open?

has dies and needs nothing, ready to load, so...$295 including freight?

I have an older ( but nice) 450 in 45acp. I am now out of the .45 business so this needs to go. It has the older push-knobs for priming and powder charging. It's a smooth running old girl. What do you guys think is a fair price to both seller and buyer? Thanks for your input. Kirby

I have been using 2.4 Bullseye with a 95 gr LRN, works great in my Gov't Pocketlite and my wife's Beretta M84. Hope this helps, Kirby

I have an older(late 90's) but low mileage(25k or so) RL1050 in 45ACP. It purrs like a kitten. Will probably take it to a friends LGS for him to consign. What do you guys think is a fair price for it? I want to' price it to sell', but not 'give it away'. Thanks for your guidance. Regards, Kirby

Steve, you're running those at .358? the case doesn't bulge at the bottom of the bullet? Thanks, Kirby

I routinely run all Fed and Blazer brass about halfway into a .380 size die after the regular 9mm size die. Works great. Holds a bullet nice and tight after doing this. I also load .380, so I already had the die.

Don't use either. Use Bayou Bullet. Much better
agree the Bayous are good but unavailable for the forseeable future. get the BBI's if you need bullets soon.

has anyone treid the 130gr in 9mm?
it works great. .356 seats tightly in the case for less chance of setback. I also like the 'feel' of the130-135 weight bullets. try them with 3.8 Bullseye @1.114.
sorry, I meant 1.140...thx

GEt Benny Hill to build you one. My long slide runs like a scalded dog.
and they all said... 'Amen!'

I guess I'm in the minority here but for 190+ power factor ammo I'd use a 16 lb spring to keep it from beating the crap out of the frame. 14 lb is good for 170-175 though...hope this helps.

Nobody liked my primer rack idea so I say," Phooey to Folgers" (insert emoticon with tongue stuck out).
we like your idea, but if that much silicone would soak your primers in case of a rupture...

I had 3 or so lbs of AmSelect left over from my old trapshooting days...put 3.8 grains behind a Bayou 135 resulting in the worst smoke cloud I have ever seen. Maybe it won't smoke so bad with jacketed or lead. I gave it to a friend who is still shooting clay birds

East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I am impressed with the author's ability to take his reader inside the mind of a true psychopath. What a poisonous little bitch...

I have 2 or 3 thousand of Donnie's 200 grain RN. After they are gone I'm going back to 230 grain.
Do the 230 Bayous have the same shoulder as the 200s? The plain lead bullets in 230 I've been getting also have a shoulder and I'm hoping the Bayous do too. I want to seat them a little bit deeper and roll crimp over it to reduce the bullet pull I'm getting in my 625 revolver. No matter how hard I taper crimp they just refuse to not pull out.
Shooters Connection sells a .45 200RN that does not have the sharp shoulder on it. Great bullet. I wonder if the slick finish on the Bayous is contributing to them pulling out from recoil...hope this helps. Kirb

You are not the lone ranger in this...I fiddled for 30 minutes with both of mine. Broke down and asked the wife unit to look at it she had them on there in 15 seconds. 'Let me know if you need help with anything else' , well ok there little miss smarty pants.
