  1. I would like to tr the defoor sights as well. I have used the Heinie sights with great satisfaction, but I bought a Roni stock for my glock to use in low velocity carbine indoor matches (pistol calibers) The heinie sight doesn't fit , it's to high. So my best option are the Defoor sights as they are low enough. If somebody could send me a set i would be in heaven. of course I'll pay shipping and the sights. Ameriglo doesn't send to belgium David
  2. How solid is the new handguard? I like the JP one but had to use blue loctite between the free float tube and tenon to keep it very solid. I am a bit worried about the small screw holding everything in place. (this tube is installed on a very heavy barreled upper, so the load on it is heavy). The screws alone wouldn't take the load. David
  3. A 200 m zero at the top off the triangle combined with the 4 moa height gives you a 300 m zero at the bottom off the triangle. Off course this also depends on the bullet and velocity. On small targets at short range I use the center at 50m and the bottom off the triangle at 25 m It's a simple reticle but for me very usefull
  4. I tried to get a Titan shipped to Belgium...no such luck If you can make it work please tell me how to as I need one also. David
  5. I am using the Burris at the moment. If I lengthen my stock a bit and don't shoot nose to the charging handle it works. I hope it's just getting used to. Nose to the charging handle is still the way to go I think as a repeatable position behind the scope elliminates possible parallax at the short distances. A friend told me not to warry about it. David
  6. Which mount places the scope the furthest to the front? I have a PEPR mount and it's a little bit to short for mounting the Trijicon TR24 for me. La Rue is to expensive over here (if you can get it) JP mount is available but don't know if it's better in the eye relief then the Burris mount Thanks, David
  7. Looking forward for the tuning info. 00bullet did suggest adding a top port for more down trust. I'll start the modifying when I have all the info. Thanks
  8. I have ordered the alu one as the steel one wasn't available in the .936 size. Guess I can alway's replace it when I find another one. (That stuff sure is expensive over here $180) David
  9. Ok I'll keep searching for a JP unit. The Hogue units are available here. Are they good also? Are there heat issues or does the rubber helps here?
  10. My Miculek comp doesn't have an expansion chamber as described in the article. Would the comp work better when I machine the comp so it has a barrel thread size expansion chamber till the first barrel. You could eliminate the locking nut in the proces also as the comp can be screwed on further. Good idea or .....Not
  11. What do you folks think about the Badger ordnance Stabilizer free float? Is it good for 3 gun applications? David
  12. I have a brand new JP tactical comp (big one) for a .875 barrel so I need a gasblock with .936 bore Should I look for a steel block or an aluminum one. Probably the steel one will be more durable but I am a bit concerned about the weight. The barrel is large and the comp is also rather heavy. Which one should I get ? Is a muzzle heavy weapon ok or should it be balanced?
  13. I picked up the comp. It's quite a handfull ! This piece is huge ! Hope it works as good as it looks.
  14. I'll buy it. Thanks for the reply's. Can't test it at the moment, still looking for a handguard David
  15. I have to act fast or it's gone.......other opinions??? How does it compare to the Miculek?
  16. I can buy the following brake for $180 JP Large-Profile Tactical Compensators In addition to our standard JP Tactical Compensators, we also offer a larger 1.2”outside diameter tactical brake that provides the same level of efficiency as the original JP Recoil Eliminator for those who prefer the more conventional appearance of this style of compensator. Is it as good as they tell on the website? There isn't much available over here and one has to take what there is. What do you guys think? Is it a good one? Is it better than the Miculek brake? Thanks, David
  17. Thanks for the info Kurt . Now I can continue searching a dealer that can ship me one to Belgium David
  18. Hello owners of the TA11. Can you tell me which is the shortest distance that still gives a clear view. (30, 25, 20 yards.....) I know I have relatively clear view with the Meopta at very short distance when set at 4X . Is the Acog comparable? David
  19. 00bullitt I'm pretty sure CPWSA will ship overseas and he has them in stock. Yes I know he has them, but he told me he can't ship them.... Can you help me ?
  20. Thanks everybody for the suggestions. I am going to try the rifle length system. If nothing goes wrong with chambering etc I will have more then 3 inch after the gas port. Theoretically it should work. I'l keep everybody informed. Anybody having a secondhand or new SJC Titan comp (blued model) for sale? I'll pay the new price if you ship to Belgium ! Best, David
  21. This I have found n another forum Is this valid info? So I've been doing some research on the AR-15 Intermediate Gas system for 18" 5.56 barrels. I've been doing some in that length with rifle length gas systems but really like the idea of a gas system that ends up between a mid-length and rifle length in order to increase the dwell time. So do any of you all have any experience with this system? I have the port location at 11" and .086. Any of you all know where to get gas tubes David
  22. That sounds interesting. I'll check out the noveske site. If anybody has some info on the intermediate position (gas port size, gasbloc position, etc....) Please contact me. OObullit thank you for the tip !
  23. I have a stainless 1-8 Lothar Walther blanc that I want to turn in an upper for IPSC shooting. (max range is 200 m) Of course I am looking for the less possible recoil. (Brakes available in Europe are Miculeck,JP tank,Jp Cooley, and even a few Rolling thunders) From reading and searching on this forum I know that the rifle system is the way to go, but isn't the barrel to short for this? (after threading and turning the finished length will be 16 inch) I was thinking that maybe when starting with a gas port on the large side and then using a adjustable gas bloc one could make it work. The lightest bolt carrier I have found over here is one from a Colt rifle (semi circel rear end) If needed I can still lighten it by machining. I want to go with an adjustable carbine stock so my girl friend can use the same rifle. Hope you guys can give me some suggestion on what works really well. David
