  1. Hi Diana, I'm glad to see come out of the lurking mode and into the light. Your shooting experience will certainly help draw more gals into the sport and the forum. I agree that you might want to check out the Versa max, nothing wrong with the M2 but you may as well try a few guns before you spend your money. Steve Added link of VM and M2 comparison: http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=178092
  2. You sure do. I've shot with you and Dave many times at BRRC, ARPC and Sparta.
  3. Hey Mossberg! Mark fixed one of your guns problems. Let's call the next version the JMM 930 with the better hammer spring.
  4. That's an offer that can't be turned down. I'm looking forward to the Roulette Tactical new +1 and +2 caps to show up on their website. http://roulettetactical.com/
  5. Welcome to the forum Ryan. What part of the State do you live in? Steve
  6. Here's another option, air soft target in two styles. http://www.cedhk.com/shop/products/Airsoft-IPSC-%7B47%7D-IDPA-Paper-Targets.html
  7. My friend has the 22" and factory follower, he got the extra shell w/XXL cap. I have the 24" and could do the same, xtra shell, w/factory follower. In mine with the Nordic Low Drag (longer than factory) I could NOT get an extra shell. When I get my +1 and +2 caps I plan to cut the Nordic follower down to allow the extra shells. I like the red anodized finish on the Nordic, easier to see.
  8. It's been roughly 1K since the XP 10/22 hammer spring has been installed. THANK YOU Mark for this gem of an idea! NO light strikes with any type of ammo. My hammer has around 3700 rounds on it without any change it the face surface. I had replaced the firing pin, trying to correct my light strike problem (maybe 1200 rnds ago) but it doesn't look deformed at all.
  9. Cool, it's about time. Thanks for the heads up. I think I'm going to wait to see what Roulette tactical comes up with. I believe they're working on a +1 and a +2. If so, I may get both. Rumor is they may have something at the end of this month. http://roulettetactical.com/
  10. Early last month I went to Sparta at the beginning of the Grand to see if there were any deals. Name brand ammo at the BIG shed wasn't any bargain but I picked up two cases of Noble Sport for $59 @ out the door. Dunn's Sporting goods in Pevely has Fed. Ultra and Top Gun for $60 @ case + tax. Wal-Mart has 100 rnd value packs for $26 plus tax. I haven't pulled the trigger group apart in a long while. Since I changed the hammer spring and de-burred the shell catch (it was shaving hulls like peeling carrots) there hasn't been a need to go in there. Maybe later this week I'll pull it apart.
  11. I don't see why there is so much fuss over SG sights. Sure it's disappointing that a gun doesn't hit tight groups but there are many variables that can effect POI. Why not just slap a set of $40 Hi-Viz sights on and be able to adjust as needed? http://www.hivizsights.com/products/shotgun-sights/four-in-one.html A friend of mine and I have these on two different guns and they are amazing. On mine if I want to shoot slugs I set the rear sight on notch 3 (from the bottom). I'm dead on at 25 and 100 yards. If I plan to shoot trap I lift the rear sight and set it on notch 5 or 6. Now my shot column is 80/90 above the front sight and I'm dusting clays. Cheap, easy and adjustable. It just takes practice to know what YOUR gun does with the ammo that YOU shoot.
  12. Well it's been 1K of uneventful rounds thru my JM 930 since the 10/22 spring was installed. Today I shot another Gateway 3-Gun match without any shotgun problems. Man, I like this shotgun! My pistol, rifle and shotgun skills need work but at least it's no longer a shotgun hardware problem for me.
  13. C-rums welded my lifter and all is good. Your problem is not just a JM 930 complaint my buddies new Versa-Max eats' his thumb up too, as well as many other guns that are being loaded FAST on the clock. If Jeff isn't doing it anymore then find a good local smith and tell him what you need done. If he can't figure it out you're talking to the wrong guy for the job.
  14. Another great G3G match up on Practiscore.com https://www.practiscore.com/match-results/uuid?uuid=CF9B79C2-272C-4E61-871D-EAE8D0F2874B Thank guys! See you next month on 10/5/13.
  15. Travel notes for those coming from west of the Mississippi. The Poplar Street Bridge 55/70 thru downtown St. Louis will have lane restrictions starting tonight and until Sunday. If you're coming in from 70 west, I'd recommend taking 270 across the Chain of Rocks bridge across the Mississippi. If you're coming from 44 So/ west, I'd recommend taking 270 South and it'll turn into 255 and cross at the Jefferson Barracks bridge. Hwy. 40/64 is going to have issues at the Missouri river also.
  16. "Close to home". How far is that? I live just Southwest of St. Louis and it's about 72 miles each way. I know one guy that comes from across the State, Kansas City, so my guess he travels maybe 340/350 each way. So, how far do shooters travel to get to these G3G, $40, six stage match's with a random gun draw each month? Steve
  17. I hope that's the one you really wanted, the XL. In stock! http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/166701/nordic-components-shotgun-magazine-extension-tube-end-cap-12-gauge-extra-long-3-4-matte My 24" came with the XL and I was looking for the XXL. Coming soon! http://ads.midwayusa.com/product/920119/nordic-components-shotgun-magazine-extension-tube-xxl-end-cap-only-1-1-2-12-gauge-matte I borrowed a friends XXL and it worked fine with the stock follower but NOT with the Nordic low-drag follower. (much longer).
  18. Looks like we better have some slugs and 00 in our bags. http://www.gateway3gun.com/schedule.html
  19. I was just on their site, http://www.roulettetactical.com/, and sent them a request for info. about a cap for our guns. Less than two min. later I got a call from them. He said they're make caps for the new style right now but plan to do a run of the old style near the end of the month. http://roulettetactical.com/
  20. I suggest that anyone that wants to attempt the oversize release to contact Mossberg, with their S/N at hand. Call and ask to purchase item #17. front shell stop, then drill or burn thru as I have done. Others have had success with drilling and tapping but I lack the skills or the tools to do the same. I realize that some are not comfortable with taking their guns down this far and I recommend that they take their guns to a trusted gunsmith to service their firearms. Having spare parts is never a bad things, IMHO. My heirs may disagree but at that point I really don't care.
  21. Which Arredondo Extended release are you talking about? I didn't know they made one for the 930. You can fit the Arredondo Benelli release onto the 930. Drill and tap the Mossberg release button (its really hard, use a carbide drill) that open a 3/8” diameter flat (3/8” 4 flute end mill works well) on the back of the Arredondo to accept the Mossberg button I don't have a drill press and tried every bit I could. I ended up burning a hole thru it with a diamond dremmel bit and using a machine screw, with mods. Yes it looks crude but after 1K nothing has moved and it's so.... easy to tap and release the bolt. One of the best mods, I've done to this inferior platform.
  22. Which Arredondo Extended release are you talking about? I didn't know they made one for the 930. They don't, but I made one work. It was a PITA but it's rock solid, even though it looks bad, I haven't had any problems with it yet. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=176198&hl=+likestoshoot&page=2 Since none of the major tuners have any interest in the 930 it's been up to us end users to make this platform viable. Guys will post what they're working with and we build on what we have. Works for me!
  23. Nothing happened. With the bolt forward it prevents movement of the shell release. After reading more on this I tried it again, this time with more effort. It released two shells and locked it up. ( I installed an arredondo extended release so I'm used to just barely tapping it to close the bolt). Thanks for the heads up.
