Start mag comes from my 6th pouch.

What if you simply decided to always hit the a-zone?
Would that not teach you what is required?
Sorry, I'm sipping Polite Zenfindel tonight...

A buddy of mine is getting consistent 30 fps slower chrono readings with the new coating.
I too am getting slower velocities, probably around that 30 mark.
The other thing that frustrates me about the whole situation, is my first order last year (his prices had just gone up) I got the dull dark green finish. Placed another order earlier this year (his prices had just gone up again) and received the order in two lots. The first lot was the same dull finish but looked to be about half the coating. I know he was having supply issues, so I'm assuming it was using less coating, to try and stretch it out as much as possible. The second lot was his new dark green shiny bullet. When I asked him about it, he told me "I was having major supply issues with the original coating material adding to the delays. I decided to go another route and use this new stuff." That's not, I've been testing new coatings and came up with this new and improved version. Plus, he never even mentioned the difference in coatings over the phone or emails. I had to contact him and ask what the deal was. OK I'm done with my rant, but just disappointing when it seems like his prices are going up and quality going down.
You base the quality of the bullets on the color of the coatings?

You know I'll be there.

I've had some really, really tough WODs. I like to think that I push myself as hard as I possibly can every time. That said, I've never even come close to puking.
Anyway, I'm 3 pounds away from having lost 50% of my body weight (173.4 currently, down from 340.8).
Thanks again Dave.
Another video in 3 pounds.

I shot all 12 stages today. There is nothing overly complicated but definitely a great time to be had by all. I'll see you guys Sunday to watch everyone (except me ) get their awards.

Why is this even a thread?

I can't get my CRO card because we have to now have a class full of RO that want to take the CRO class.
[Thread drift mode on]
Can't this still be taken through correspondence courses?
And this thread made me check my USPSA profile, and see my CRO expired at the end of them month.. It's nice having that on-line, 5 minutes, passed 100%
They have not offered the CRO correspondence course for a while now. I gave up looking at the website for more info. I guess they don't want more people being CRO's. The one in person class we tried to get in this area back in May couldn't draw enough people, so looks like I won't become an CRO any time soon either.
how long is "for a while?" i did it last year...

Who is the Range Master for this match?
-
I don't mind any "position" and don't care if it is loaded or unloaded but I absolutely hate , and see no use for, starts where you have to hold, carry or whatever, put your hands in ice water, etc, etc. They take away from the shooting and are certainly not practical.
It is a sport. Many things that people do are not "practical", so why should stage requirements be?
Because it's US"P"SA. We shoot the occasional stage locally that has you get your gun out of a mailbox or carry a baby doll during the COF. I don't know about you but my gun is never in my mailbox and the last thing I would do is carry an infant child into a gunfight.
And who in their right mind would choose to carry their briefcase if they had to defend themselves with a gun?
That stuff simply takes away from the shooting.
What about carrying an infant child out of a gun fight?

All of you guys have a safe and fun match. I will be missing my first DTC since they started as I am leaving on Saturday morning for Grand Cayman. I will miss seeing all of you as well as RO'ing with my shooting buddies. Have fun and I will keep my fingers crossed for you to have good weather. I think Porter sacrificed extra chickens and a goat on the range just to add extra insurance!
Boo!

If everything goes like I hope it will, this will be my last event in C Class for Limited Division.
See you this weekend!

I started CrossFit yesterday with a 1 hr intro class. Just going through the lifting movements with PVC, empty bar or very light weight. Way sore today! I started dieting (mostly The Zone) the first week of May weighed 225. Yesterday I weighed 215lbs. With a previous ruptured disc, "form" is the highest priority for me. I’m 52 and never really have stuck with any exercise program, I think because the workouts differ almost every day it won’t be boring.
Man, that is awesome. I hope you stick to it. I can tell you it won't ever get boring, only more addictive. I'm at it for almost 11 months now. 142 pounds lighter.

No videos for me but I did take a metric shit ton of pictures that I'll be putting online soon.
Also, I came in 2nd A production and 5th Overall Production. Not bad for a guy who shot 10 stages in 4 hours with two different loads, sights that I've only used at one other match and 4 misses and two no-shoots.

Stages are now up. Let the fun begin!
I agree.
-
I always thought they were called strings of fire. The Death Star in Star Wars used array.
strings are separately timed parts of a single stage.
-
If a piece of noncalibratable steel is hit and does not fall. The shooter must reshoot the stage.
-
My short article on the 2012 Single Stack Nationals is available here
Nice article, thanks for sharing!
I have a question on this:
"Sevigny had to reshoot this stage as a plate from the fixed Texas Star failed to fall when hit, his second run at the end of the squad was flawless"
What was the basis for the reshoot since plates are not calibrated? I would like to know this for future reference
Later,
Chuck
Plate that doesn't fall when hit = reshoot. I'm not sure what you're asking.

Every minute I'm in the gym, some fat, out of shape, 10 years older than me guy/girl is shooting. When we meet, I'll be a really fit finisher,...... Below them.
It's the speed, power and accuracy of the shooting, not your personal best bench press.
If you really believe the last two words, given that this sport is suppose to balance speed, accuracy and power, you may have already finished below them in your head.
It's the speed, power and accuracy of the shooting. DVC has nothing to do with being strong or fast on your feet.
so you're saying two guys with absolutely equal skill and shooting ability but ~100 pounds difference between them will have the exact same times over 5 or 8 or 12 stages?
NO, IMO 100# is pretty much morbidly obese. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the guy who doesn't work out, who carries maybe 40-50# too much. You know, like Taran.
40-50 is still a lot. still performance inhibiting, in my opinion. mine might be an opinion that could be considered biased, though.
