  1. I'd love to come in from Texas for this, but without being able to make plans soon it gets cost and schedule prohibitive..
  2. http://apdmarksmanshipteam.org/texas-law-enforcement-multigun-championship This will be the second year for it. The match filled quickly and was a great time. Great sponsors too. The APD guys did a fantastic job on all the leg work. The majority on the team are experienced competitors and have run big matches for a while.

    USP 9mm expert

Our Team Captain is running one in Limited 10, Production, and Steel Challenge. He's killing them with it..
  4. I believe the factory recommends to replace them every time. I never have .... The tension of the parts they hold in keeps them in place.
  5. They are pretty easy. Just don't mess with the F&!@*#^$&!^ trigger return spring. That one makes me invent new cuss words...
  6. Yup, what do you want to know? I always point folks to some of the detail strip videos on Youtube.
  7. I've never had to modify any loads for suppressor only usage. Are you talking about loading subsonic?
  8. Another vote for Vertx. A great product. They look great, wear well, and are an athletic cut.
  9. I had a great time at the match. Everything ran smoothly, and the Association's BBQ was delicious. Can't thank Daniel and the whole SAPD MU team for all their hard work... I'm looking forward to next year!
  10. I've got right around 1k through my SLP MK1 and recently it's started malfunctioning more often in a weird way. Usually it's in the middle of a COF, with rounds still left in the mag tube, and the bolt will lock to the rear. The spent casing has ejected fine. Anyone run into this? FN's service department was particularly un-helpful. "Send it in"....
  11. Make sure you guys read up on the rules. They checked them very stringently this year... They are very different than most matches.
  12. Welcome to the addiction. There is a large shooting community in Austin, you will have a lot of fun and get plenty of shooting in if you so desire!
  13. Over 1k through mine and the MR556.... No issues thusfar.
  14. Oakley supports LE/Military with their standard issue program, so I support them in turn. I really like the G26 lens and picked up one for my new Radars. I need to get a clear lens for it and I should be set. I run the v2 M frames on SWAT missions and flak jackets for duty/off duty. Love my Oakleys.
  15. The HK45 is a single stack gun and feels quite like a 1911 in it's grip angle and function. You just don't have all those problems with reliability. The P30 in 40 feels great to me, and the interchangeable backstraps makes the gun customizable to you. You really can't go wrong with either, IMO... A

    HK P30L

Our team uses the P30 to shoot USPSA production and is quite successful. Holsters are not hard to come by, and sights are easily attained. Not sure what other 'after market' support is really needed??? A http://www.hk-usa.com/civilian_products/shootingTeam.asp

    HK

You know you can run the HK45 in CDP, right? It is a single stack 1911 style gun. You'll just have to download to 8.... Check out Dawson Precision for sights. I think they might have some f/o's.

    HK

You can order the variant plates directly from HK, or you can try an outfit like hkparts - variant 9 The installation is super easy. Remove your slide, push the pin that holds the plate in enough so the plate will slide out. Insert the new one. Be happy.
  19. Thats exactly when it is happening. Giessele said they will replace the springs to make it heavier. I'm thinking I'm going to go your route and just practice with it. If I can replicate the doubling on the hoser targets my splits will be money. Just FYI I am having the exact same problems with that trigger. Geissle has been working with me on it, and they are telling me the same thing they told you. I actually had the rifle 'dq'd' from a match because of it doubling, in the exact same scenario you are getting into. I'm not quite sure what to do. Usually it's on long distance targets where I'm going for accuracy. Close up targets I can hose all day long and no issues. When I slow down and work the reset is when it gets squirrely. You are not alone ... and it's frustrating! A PS - several times during a match I'd have the hammer follow and I'd have to tap-rack to get the gun up again. Usually shortly after that the gun would double too. I thought it was a faulty trigger, but after sending it back to Geissle they said all parts were in spec and offered up a disconnector that had more engagement surface. Moral of the story - they have gone way above and beyond working with me on the problem. They are a great company!
  20. We all did on our squad. They said we had to clear it just in case it got pointed the wrong way or we could set it on a wet barrel on safe. We all opted for a clear and drop. Just in case..................... what??? Isn't that a DQ??
  21. Jesse, did you dump your pistol into the 55 gallon bucket on the long range stage!!!! That's brave!
  22. I had a great time at the match, regardless of my score. That facility is fantastic! I can't wait for next year, I'll be one of the first to sign up. I really enjoyed the challenges, the natural terrain stages were awesome, and the prize table was top notch. On a side note, smacking a steel target with a rifle at 30 something yards is damn satisfying. A
  23. How many guns ended up being stolen out of the parking lot this year during the awards? I saw LVPD working at least 2 burglary of a vehicle as I left, and I know one vic they were talking to was a shooter.
  24. I'm looking to get a choke for my M2 ... which Briley do ya'll recommend?
