Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. I may be a little bias here but, a dedicated photographer would be a nice touch.
  2. Too bad these aren't available in California.
  3. Wow! Looks great and nice list of goodies... Do you mind me asking how much? Please PM me with the price if it's OK.
  4. I just shot my first qualifier two weekends ago. Stages 1 & 2 were a breeze but, man did I screw up on the 3rd stage. My 3rd stage points were more than my 1st and 2nd combined! Take it slow on the 3rd stage.
  5. Here is my L10 setup. Springfield TRP Operator .45 My IDPA CDP setup. Springfield TRP .45 Here's the TRP in action
  6. Hi All, Update: I finally got everything in place and rolled a few rounds this afternoon. I want to thank Brian Enos for all the help in ordering all the Dillon stuff and I wanted to thank everyone on these forums in helping me make my decision to go straight for the 650 and bypass the 550 and SDB. As you can see, I got the 650XL with casefeeder, I used Dillon dies except for the seating die, I was convinced (by reading the forums) to get the Redding Comp Seating Die. I'm still on the fence about the Lee Crimp die... Here is a pic of my reloading bench... I started a thread earlier asking if it was safe to place the 650 in proximity to my water heater. I think if I follow the suggestions on that thread that I will be alright. I am currently working up a load using Clays and West Coast Bullets 230 RN .45. I am still waiting for my Chrono to come in but, I have a good starting point thanks again to the forums on brianenos.com. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who responded. John
  7. LOL!!! The new baby you are talking about is the 650!!! I was wondering how you knew about my newborn baby, my wife and I had our second child last week! I have been deprived of sleep the past few days... can you tell?
  8. My water heater is gas. The only powder that will be close by would be powder in the hopper of the machine. I suppose there will be powder a little airborne when I refill the hopper. Maybe I'll try to find another locale? I would store the primers and powder on another bench. I would put he loader on the other bench but,I don't think I have enough clearance due to the casefeeder. We'll see when it comes in... Hey, How'd you know about my newborn???
  9. So I just bought my 650XL and a bunch of goodies , Brian tells me all the stuff should ship sometime next week... That's fine, I wanted to clear one of my benches off in the garage anyways. So I clean out the area I was thinking of putting the reloader. The best place I can think of is about 2 feet away from my water heater in the garage. Is this safe? I understand that smokeless powders do not go boom but, what do you guys think?
  10. Hi again, I started a post earlier on which press I should get, and I have been putting together a list of goodies to purchase at the same time as the 650XL. Well, now I have another question around the priming system of the 650. I am ordering the 650XL in .45 and was looking into caliber changes. I am still on the fence if I want to reload 9mm but, I am certain I will reload for .40... and the question is: Is the priming system the same for the .45 and the .40? I have read through several pages on our host's site and I think the answer is YES. I think I just need confirmation... and if it is the same, all I need to switch from .45 to .40 is a quick change and the conversion kit right? How about the casefeeder (I'm getting that too), I'll be ordering the one for large pistol, will this be the same plate for .45 and .40? I appologize if this has been covered before, I made an effort to look through several pages but, I wanted a quick answer so that I can get my order out to Brian. Thank you, John
  11. Thanks for the compliment. I actually sent a bunch of these images and wrote an article for Front Sight but, it didn't get published. I'm going to try again this season.
  12. I'm not as good as Nyle Leatham but, I have played with Remote Cameras during a match. It's safe for the shooter and the photographer. Might not be for the camera but, mine are insured: http://www.photoreflect.com/scripts/prsm.d...0&ts=1074240303
  13. Hi all, Quick question regarding the Lee FCD. How important is it for me to have one if these when I get my new 650 in .45? I had a Lee FCD on my Lee press years ago and it worked well but, now that I am getting a new press... is this a "need" or a "want" type of item for the 650? TIA
  14. Great comments from everyone and I thank you all. I am going with the 650. I'll start off without the casefeeder since I want to get a nice scale first and a few other things like the strong mount and the aluminum handle. Since I somewhat got accustomed to the auto indexing feature of the Lee press I had years ago, the 650 seems to be the right one for me. I appreciate all the comments. The SDB may in fact be all I need BUT, as many of you have said... "Do it right the first time" Thank you everyone.
  15. be, Thanks for chiming in. Believe me I have read just about all the articles concerning SDB and the 550. I just emailed the guy who is selling his 550 on the USPSA website. Price is good for what it includes. And from reading all the good things about Dillon's warranty, I am not concerned about buying used.
