  1. I load from the first mag pouch on my belt and replace it with a mag from my "mag pocket". I view it as a "warm up" reload.
  2. Another vote for custom molded plugs from Brad at Hear-Pro. By far the best I've ever used. I used to double plug with standard plugs and muffs, but since I've started using the Hear-Pro plugs double plugging isn't necessary anymore.
  3. Here is my LOKI story: I ordered a 18" stainless fluted barrel in March. I was told it would be 6 weeks until it ships. I call in May and he said it was ready to ship, but the gas port was too small and needed to be drilled again. He told me then it would ship in a week. I called back a week later and he said it would ship the next day. I called a week later and he said the gas port was too small and needed to be drilled again! I didn't call him on his obvious lie and the fact he had been lieing to me the whole time, but I hung up and started collecting all my "evidence" to confront him the next time I called. When I got home that day, the barrel was sitting on my doorstep! Lucky to have got anything at all I guess.
  4. Congrats on a great season! What's your plan for the offseason to stay sharp and avoid burnout?
  5. When I'm shooting well I see the front site like a bouncing ball from target to target. I'm a production master and I've been shooting for 4 years.
  6. Just finished American Sniper. Before that Act of Treason by Vince Flynn. Looking for a change of pace now.
  7. I agree, Mike's book took my shooting to the next level. I recommend it to anyone I know looking to get better.
  8. Maybe this will put an end to the super hero trend in Hollywood. Come on already....think of something new!!
  9. You are one lucky man! Why not a matching engagement set??
  10. Anyone know how the weight of the Burris compares to a DMS?
  11. I use the Warren Tacticals on my M&P and love the profile of the rear sight. I don't see myself shooting a square rear sight ever again.
  12. I'd rather see them rework the classification system adding a class in between Expert and Master, then add a GM class. It's too easy to make Master now and there are too many. When I made Master this year, I remember thinking I had too much left to learn to be a "Master". Just adding a GM class would only pull a dozen or so shooters out of Master. Judging from the numbers from Nationals the class needs to be cut in half.
  13. I checked the rules addendum and didn't see anything about stippling. Where is the ruling exactly?
  14. I use a dry fire drill. Do a Bill drill, reload, do another Bill drill. Since there is no recoil you can work purely on trigger finger speed. You'll also be able to see if the sights move while your working the trigger.
  15. You can't fix a procedure. Once it's earned it's earned. Best thing to do is keep shooting.
  16. Both knees down isn't as fast for me to get in and out of compared to going down on a single knee. The only two times I would use it are if I had to get really low to shoot under something or I had to shoot around both sides of a barricade.
  17. I have the Surefire one and it was free. Not as good as a real timer, but it's okay for dryfire and practice.
  18. Congratulations , it always feels good when your hardwork leads to the realization of a goal.
  19. I take a deep breath in on "shooter ready" and let it out slowly on standby. This helps me control tension in my arms and shoulders.
  20. HAVE FUN!!! If I wanted to not have fun I'd just go to work that day.
  21. Shoot whichever gun you are the most comfortable with and which gun is the most fun for you to shoot. Your gun choice won't affect your final standings as much as your comfort and fun level will.
  22. I think if you just take advantages of the opportunities you see, and aren't deliberately breaking the rules, the times you don't get a procedural will outnumber the times you do.
  23. Your draw looks like it needs a little work. You kind of scoop the gun on the way out instead of getting it up and driving towards the target. You also drop the gun a little low on the reloads. On the turn and draws, try snapping your head around to the first target. This will help you to turn faster. Looks like good run though, how many points down where you?
  24. If your coming from the left side of the port, you shoot the hard right, center hard left as you pie the port. He is saying you are coming straight at the port. Like going down a tight hallway with a port at the end.
