  1. Hi Rick, What are the specific malfunctions you are seeing? Is the round nose diving into the feed ramp? Is the round missing the chamber and causing a high angle jam? Is the nose of the round in the chamber but the back of the round not moving up the breach face of the bolt? For what it’s worth. I’ve found the 10 round BX mags to be very reliable. As others have pointed out they do need to be relatively clean and properly tensioned. Most guns will run well with the mags tensioned between 1.5-2 turns. Under tensioned can cause one type of malfunction-over tensioned typically causes a different malfunction. The timing of the rifle/ammunition combination can make a difference - As can bullet length and shape. CCI SV and AR Tactical (1200 fps) have a very similar bullet shape and are both about .030” longer than Mini-Mag. This combination of bullet shape and length, present really nicely to the feed ramp. It’s almost like they were made for each other. Mini-Mag (1260), being shorter and having a more round bullet shape leaves a gap that the bullet has to jump before it hits the feed ramp. This can lead to nose diving into the feed ramp. Usually pulling the bolt back slightly will allow the nose to pop up and feed. This is an indication that a little more mag spring tension may be needed. Mags can certainly be turned to run Mini-Mags reliably.
  2. We recomened keeping the our striker spring installed. The Wolf striker spring is an extra power spring and the recoil spring is lighter than the stock spring. This can lead to not enough recoil spring pressure to keep the slide closed. Eg. a lighter recoil spring needs a lighter striker spring I order to keep the same amount of force holding the slide closed.
  3. The PRP Extreme Ejector™, is CNC machined out of hardened, 416 stainless steel. We heat treat the Extreme Ejector prior to machining, resulting in a more durable and consistent part, that will endure years of heavy use in all environments. The Extreme Ejector has been redesigned with our unique geometry to be thicker in key areas and lower to the frame. This results in a stronger part that is firmly mounted on the pins of the pistol, ensuring reliable, consistent ejection. The pin holes are drilled under-size, then precision reamed to the final dimension to achieve a snug fit on the mounting pins. NOW available at our web store
  4. You need to install the trigger that came with the kit. The factory trigger is allowing the trigger to be pulled too far back and the trigger bar is getting caught in front of the tab on the striker safety lever. If you install the trigger with the over travel stop, it will stop doing that. ~Daniel
  5. The total trigger travel will be about 1/2 the distance it is now. The reset will be reduced by about the same.
  6. That would be my first choice . Keep the factory springs installed and you should have close to a factory trigger pull weight.
  7. The frame will expand and contract with temp change. The only way I have seen it become an issue is if you have a trigger job and the over travle stop is fit too tight. As it gets colder you would need more over travel to fire the pistol.
  8. Not resetting could be two things. It could be that the trigger bar is not resetting on the striker safety lever or that the sear is not resetting the striker. The fix would be different for each. If you give us a call at 541 523 4474 we could help sort this out. Daniel
  9. A dirty or oily striker channel could cause light strikes. It could be that they had the gun set up to only run FED primers and the striker spring is too week for the primers that you are using. Any number of things could cause this issue.
  10. Is the mount in its farthest forward position? If not I would give that a try be for changing the extractor/ejector.
  11. If they are the same cal/model you could try switching the barrels and see if you get the same results. If so I would look at re-crowning the barrel on the one that is lacking. Daniel
  12. I appreciate the recommendation but I must clarify something. Springfield uses the trigger that we designed (with the built in over travel stop) on some of their guns/trigger jobs but they do NOT use all of the same parts we use. For example they do not use our striker safety lever, sear, sear springs, or our trigger springs. Daniel
  13. We have some Bar-Sto 9mm XD barrels but they are not exactly cheep.
  14. You should take a look at the traction sand grips from x-treme grips. They make a huge difference.
  15. Not the best idea. The lug on the xdm is wider than the xd and the cam geometry is different.
  16. Good news!! We have the new XDM 5.25" 40's in stock and ready for your up grades!!
  17. Actually last month we bought the company Xtremegrips. The grips hold up quite well. I change mine out about once a year on my production gun (xdm 9mm) but they usually are doing just fine when I change them.
  18. Another option for a great all round pistol is the XDM 3.8 compact. 13 rounds of 9mm
  19. XDM 5.25 rear sight width is .127" The Bo-Mar style that I just measured was .115" making the XDM 5.25 rear sight .012" wider.
  20. They are close to the same size. The 9mm slide is .118" shorter in over all length and .03" shorter from the bottom of the rails to the top of the slide. I have several of both in stock and had to check for my self. Also the .45 cal 5.25" slide (at 15.2oz) is about 1 oz heaver than a 4.5" .45 cal and 3 oz heaver than the 9mm 5.25". All of the XDM 9mm slides weigh the same (3.8", 4.5", 5.25") all weigh 12.1 oz
  21. We have 5 of the black XDM 5.25 .45 cal pistols in stock. .45 cal XDM 5.25" pistols in stock
  22. My XDM and I like 124 MT Gold bullets with 4.5 Universal.
  23. Thanks Rich, Well, i can't be 100% sure. Nothing was noted on the invoice, but I guess that doesn't necessarily mean that it wasn't changed out . What is the factory rated 9mm spring for these? I agree with Rich. The factory springs are around 18.5 LBS you can go as low as 14 lbs before you start running into issues.
  24. Thank you for your post. I have posted a video link that shows the install and compares the before and after. Judging by sales it will not be long before the end users start posting their results.
